Cavill has a really good '50s/'60s era American accent type voice. Kind of what Cap America does in the MCU. And I also want to say Afflecks growling Batman voice is amazing.

That son of a bitch brought the war...to...us.

The rule for WB apparently is that you need to make just one good film and they'll throw money your way for years afterwards, even if all other movies are shit (see The Wachowskis)
They might be done creatively, but i'd still hire the Wachowskis to simply direct one of these movies before random TV director. They'll probably get one of these.

I agree, but he seems out of place in the costume somehow. Maybe it'll grow on me.

But damn his Bruce Wayne is fire.

Maybe it's the Gotham City in me, but I have a bad history with freaks who dress like clowns.

I'd love to see Kevin Smith's thoughts, since he basically helped Affleck get renown.

I would go for a Wachowski's directed Green Lantern Corp. movie.
I'd go for it. They might be weary of doing the space thing again after Jupiter Ascending though.
The Winter Soldier was a pretty good movie.

Only on the kiddie scale imo. I thought it was one of a small few in that universe to reach mediocrity instead of just being plain bad. Remove the branding (not entirely fair, but still) and it's just a terrible B action movie that does nothing interesting.

Showed the girlfriend the trailer. She:
- Enjoyed Lex
- Laughed at Bats joke at the end
- LOVES Wonder Woman
- did not notice any "weird tone shifts"
- thought the action looked good
- thought Batfleck looks way better than Bale

Yea, this movie is going to do just fine with the masses.
My wife wants to see it cause of the batfleck adn I said "you should want to see it cause of the Supes da gawd!!

People in here saying "MoS a failure"? WTF that movie is amazing and brougth back Superman in all his glory.

Jeez..

So was Batman Begins but the bet doesn't always pays off (Thor, Antman, Jurasic World etc)

Antman and Jurassic World weren't failures.

And even if the movie didn't live up to the promise getting Branagh on the first Thor was inspired, same with Johnston on the first captain America.

Last I checked Jurassic World grossed $1.6 billion. How is that not a payoff?

Really, those are the examples you're going with?

I was obviously talking about cinematic quality. Noob directors in charge of blockbusters are not a sure fire.

Some people think MoS didn't make money. It's run was almost all profit because it made its money back in licensing deals just before it released. It's reception may not have been what WB wanted but financially it was a big success.

This true. I remember WB announcing they had reached 300M in licensing before the movie was out.

Absolutely, that's the thing. With a proven director you're less likely to get subjective. A master is a master.
The incredible films of Ridley Scott, Michael Mann, the Wachowskis, and others in recent years are proof of that. Exodus, Robin Hood, Blackhat, Jupiter Ascending and the Matrix sequels, etc. are all masterful works of cinema

I'd rather watch (the great) Cloud Atlas one thousand times than suffer thrugh 1 minute of Jurassic World. It's funny because all the directors you mentioned had a recent resurgence (Sense8, The Martian).

You can hate on MoS and Snyder all you want.

But to me it's the finest Superman movie ever made. Christopher Reeve would be very proud about it.

If WB doesn't have faith in this anymore then they should just pack it up right now.

And I'd rather watch a Michael Bay film than sit through 1 minute of that pretensions, self-important crap. Thats how subjectivity works.

MOS's script lets it down. Acting, visuals are great. Script is garbage, turning even small character scenes into overblown shite. Like Pa Kent getting sucked off by a tornado is a waste of SFX - that scene is the last that should be composed as an action sequence.

MoS is definitely in my top 5 Superhero list. It was okay when I first watched it but it gets better each time I rewatch it.

This movie could have some really strong opening segments. Batman's introduction might be fighting those goons from the first trailer and branding that guy in Gotham. Maybe we'll get a surprise B-villain out of that.

Superman has a couple different scenes where he appears to be saving people or getting shit done.

Putin, is this yours?

Looks like they'll make a bigger deal of him saving people from post-fight wreckage in general.

Snyder/Fong combo is a beautiful thing btw.

I love that they're making Superman look like a God. As it should. There is some greekness to his shots compared to the noob shots of MoS
It wasn't that much, haha. It was like $170 million in marketing deals. Production budget was $225. Movie made $668 worldwide.
Oh you're right haha, that was a long time ago, wasn't it.

When Snyder stops sucking, people will stop bringing it up.
pretty much this.

i actually came out of MOS kinda liking it, but it definitely not grown on me after a second viewing on dvd.

the less said about watchmen and sucker punch, the better.

he's a very superficial director. all eye candy and zero substance.
