Is there anything more hilarious in retrospect than Yugioh? (Besides Yamcha)

Some cheater told me I couldnt summon Blie Eyes White Dragon without sacraficing 2 monsters. Im like Kaiba didn't do it why shoild I?

This dude is literally so mad with power that his hair is perpetually spiked up, more so than usual, and he constantly has veins popping out on his neck and face, his plan is to spread pain and suffering, with a card game.

Yubel is the antagonist of yugioh gx's second to last arc. Yubel is an (apparently) hermaphroditic sadomasochist whose only goal is to force the protagonist Jaden to love them at all costs. This includes torturing him and his friend's psychologically.

In the end Yubel succeeds when Jaden actually permanently fuses with Yubel using the super polymerization card.

Oh my god how have I never seen this?

"Want to play a game? First one to die loses. Oh look its the queen of spades"

"What does that mean?"

"You lose"
Episode 3:
"how would you like to play a game?"

" a game, what like monopoly?"

"Exactly like monopoly, except instead of going to jail you wind up in a shallow grave"

They had a school that taught nothing but how to play the game. No Algebra, no English, no science, just dueling.

And there was hundreds of students.

It is the way of humanity's future. No war, no hunger, no poor...only the heart of the cards.

The funny thing about Yu-Gi-Oh is that if you play card games, you realize how utterly terrible at card games everybody in the show is. Championships are taking place and people constantly have to explain what certain cards do and nobody plays around anything.

Like in the battle city tournament, one of the few times the show seems like it's trying to play up a particular strategy, one of the rare hunters comes up with a strategy to constantly buff Slifer the Sky Dragon by using a Revival Jam as a defender and keep drawing cards. The show hypes it up as some kind of unbeatable strategy, but it turns out you can just use brain control to take the revival jam and force your opponent into an infinite mill where they keep endlessly drawing cards until they lose.

Like this is suppose to be the world tournament and the guy is playing with one of the rarest cards in the game, and he didn't figure out his unbeatable strategy gets hard-countered by monster stealing effects? Baaaaaaad.

Beyblade is an anime about competitive tops. And unleashing the spirit within said tops because you believe and are one with the Beyblade...

Beyblade is the saddest thing ever.

Beyblade is serious and more dangerous than ever.

That is actually a soft counter, but your point still stands.

I'm not sure if I remember this right, but did they have really long dialogues on the show before each battle? for some reason I remember them talking forver about what they're going to do before doing it

I remember them repeating the same things over and over again between turns. Just take your turn already! Then they explain what spell cards and trap cards do every single match. Yes, I know Swords Of Revealing Light prevents your opponent's monsters from attacking for 3 turns.

Speaking of which, does anybody here know what Pot of Greed does?

Yeah, like that. Another problem i have with the series is that they duel pretty much every one they meet. It's like that Gwent mod for Witcher 3, it feels like it's slowing you down.

Oh, and Yamcha? He's cadaver-iffic!

well the ancient egyptians had a good excuse for taking it seriously, the monster were actually real and could kill your ass. Shit people could turn into monsters, some chick ending up becoming a blue eyes white dragon.

I mean if the cards actually have real life effects and they can use a card to fuse together, it isn't really just a children's card game, eh?

this thread reminded me how mad I was when Joey lost to Marik cause he collasped.

Joey had him beat dammnit, it wasn't fair.

YGO Abridged retroactively makes all the time I spent watching YGO worth it. The card game is alright; I like the old Wizards of the Coast Pokemon better. Then again I like the whole Pokemon franchise more than the idiotic Yu Gi Oh franchise.

It's even funnier in retrospect when you consider what it was before the childrens card game Duelist Kingdom parts when it was some Akagi/Kaiji esque manga

Dueling on motor cycles will never not be amazing. I am enjoying the shit out of Arc-V with its alternate dimension bullshit.

In anime or what? Because i remember a movie about baseball action that involve zombie, a robot, machine gun, exploding ball, and head on a stick. Yeah, it's that hardcore and hilarious.

But yeah, i'll nominate yakitate japan as the most hilarious mundane become awesome show. Main character literally won nobel prize and saving the world by baking bread in the manga

I though YGO was stupid when i realised it was children and adults making serious business of card games, that said TAS is probably the greatest parody anything ever. Shit brought me close to tears especially the x gone give it to you bit. I can't not hear TAS dub anymore.

I'd nominate Animorphs, which got really fucking weird as they went on. It's especially amusing because like if you create a thread about it a ton of people are going to take it very seriously.

My dude, we knuckle up bout them animorphs breh. I'm talking preordering books serious.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I still find the Weevil part early on hilarious. The guy knows he can't beat yugi, so his strategy is to just take his cards and throw them off the boat. Complete savage.
