Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Didn't the datamining say 12? But that might include future, DLC stages to go with the new characters.

Anyway, so far we've got:

China
London
Waterfall
Kanzuki Estate
Russia
Brazil
New York City
India
Shadaloo HQ
Airport
Training Stage

I might be missing one.

Judging by artworks background we have still to see:

R.Mika stage (wrestling ring, new)
Fang stage (pillars, new)

Plus some others seem will get unseen sections(like china restaurant) of already existing ones:

Ryu- karin stage
Birdie- london
Charlie- waterfall
Necalli- ???

Karin's stage transitioning to a barren temple location makes no sense. I'm pretty sure Ryu has his own, I mean the stage on his artwork is on the cover of the collectors edition or whatever

The China stage has me wondering why it is the only one that has expanding sections?
Capcom has implied there are more stage easter eggs they are keeping under wraps, so either they aren't turning them on until the game is done or - more likely - they just ditched the idea halfway through and China is all we get lol

Does opening up the restaurant in the China stage extend it? I haven't gotten that to work yet, but making stages longer would be a terrible idea.

They used it to show that new feature, probably most if not all stages have transitions/bonus stuff like that but are locked in current builds

China stage have:

Left smash KO = transition to restaurant
2nd Left smash KO = noodles cutscene
Right smash KO = Bus cutscene

You can bet a lot of stuff is keept locked as now

Maybe they noticed it was a little too expensive to do stages like that and they decided to drop it, or maybe limit it to one secret per stage.

It doesn't expand the size of the stage at all, it just moved the playable area of the stage to the left. The right side becomes locked off by an invisible wall after the restaurant area is opened.

I think (hope) is just that they want keep some stuff unseen since we already seen a lot

See also how they did'nt said anything about story mode, eventual extra stuff, first alt for everyone (we seen only the 4 preorder ones) etc

My bet is that maybe not every stage will have transitions, but every stage will at least have one cutscene on each side

They had to do betas but likely they limited it as much as possible, they need to give the impression that there is still a lot of stuff to see

If you open up the stages from the PC beta in 3D Max you can see there's a lot of things you can't get to.... I doubt the China stage will be the only one with transitions/special KOs.

I hope china isn't the only stage that has transitions or at the very least hidden cinematics like the bus and ramen bowl. Makes the game feel very inconsistent. Would almost rather them take em out of the china stage if that was the case lol

I'm hopeful it's still a planned feature and not scrapped though. You can see where there would be transitions on other maps too. The Waterfall stage has that Illuminati room on the right side that you see in Nash's promo art.

I don't get why people think just because they're not showing something means it doesn't exist. They obviously want to keep some things under wraps for launch. It'll be cool to see the stage transitions for the first time when we actually play the game. I always thought they showed the one in China just to let people know what they're planning.

I think it's pretty obvious they're making it so that they don't reveal too much before release.

Then again, if there were more stages with transitions they would have leaked already. :p

Actually look like something pretty easy to block

One good example of likely transition is Waterfalls right side, another possible is London left

I thought the boss was a character we can't play as.

At least that's how I understood it.

Well, we can't play as the buffed up version of Seth in SFIV, either (the selectable character has ridiculously low stamina, damage output and stun meter to compensate for having basically all the right tools).

Probably a palette swap of Necalli with lots of invincible moves, no recovery frames and all that shit.

I Think SFV season after season will have multiple "final" Boss

This pic hint we will see Shin/Whatever Bison at some point

I think that stage has a transition on the left stage. The waterfall is a good clue, but there's also like, a door or passageway in to a cave or something on the left.

A lot of the stages have transitions. They just aren't showing all of them before release

Pretty neat that they are letting us invite a friend... but at the moment there's no way to actually play with your friend so it kinda defeats the purpose lol.

Yeah, I got a little hopeful that they'd let us play with friends since they were handing out extra invites to give out.

If Bison is boss would he be the very first returning boss character in a mainline numbered SF?

or does alpha count?

Yeah I don't like it... even Shin Necalli seems like a cop out. With all the Sony money that was thrown at this game I expected a crazy new boss and definitely higher production value on the story stuff if the tutorial is an indication of what that's going to be...

Seems you got mixed up there friend, don't worry I'll help with that

Wut?

Hence why I said outdated. SFIV had remixes as well. Again, outdated. Give them new theme songs that fit their characters. There's zero reason why Character themes should be remixes two game entries in a row.

There is one great reason actually: It's the theme the creators of said character identify with that character. That's why it's a character theme. If they wanted to make a new one, they would. The only thing they shouldn't have is change for change's sake.

So is this game actually going to have story mode like Mortal Kombat?

It's going to have its own story mode, with MK's story mode success as an inspiration.

However, they never said that it would be exactly like MK's. It will probably be its own thing.

Judging by interviews, Ono seems confident that it will be satisfactory, though.

Ryu's SF2 theme sounds to me like it was ripped straight from a top 40 station in the 80's performed by a band no one remembers. His SF3 theme is more modern and sounds way better to me.

Oh I read that wrong.

Nah dude, that's why they are character themes. That's why most of the themes in the game for the characters if not all of them are pretty faithful to the characters themselves. The only game that deviates is SF3, but those are character stage themes instead.

That's his stage music. There's no character theme music. The different is that if you go to Ryu's stage, that theme will still play regardless of whether he's fighting or not.

Eew no. His SF3 theme is like a 3 minute loop of 2 chords that sounds like character select music.

I'll take Shimomura's tracks over that soulless crap any day.
