The FANG proximity thing is a V-Trigger though, it's in effect for a small portion of any given round. Just run away from him or something. This ain't no Eron Black.
There's an easy solution to avoiding FANG's V-Trigger- stay the F away from him! It's unlikely that he can kill with it.Right cause it barely does any damage, therefor pretty negligible. If that's the case for FANG then that's a shitty Vtrigger, which then makes you wonder why have it to begin with.
Not to mention MK is a very different beast than SF. Especially SFV that seems to be much more concentrated on fundamentals.

Every character and new matchup changes the basics of how you play. That's how these games work. (Well, most of them, anyway.)Because running away from X amount of seconds has always been fun in SF right?
The move changes the very basics of how SF is played, that's my issue.
Aside from Vega and Ryu all A3 themes are awful. They all sound very samey too. Akuma's is pretty good too, but hell no on it having better themes.
We haven't even seen a gameplay match of FANG yet. Like really dude?

Like I said, I'm not only worried that it might be too strong, I'm worried that it's not a good mechanic for SFV and might be troublesome to balance.
SFxT is good but its inconsistent , you have good tracks and some completely shiet ones.
From ability descriptions it sounds like he has an aura that constantly drains you. You're technically not getting hit, just being close.
That to me is bullshit.

I think it depends on the rate it drains life how quickly it's over, how fast he builds meter and how useful his v-reversal is.There's also whether or not it does gray life or real damage.
If it's like Dhalsim's flame carpet that doesn't seem too bad.
Ryu's theme in 3rd Strike is awesome, you guys are crazy.

Ya they might nail the balancing, and I'll applaud them if they do. I can just easily see the character be considered this games decapre/c.viper.
Yup
Yuuup. That was pretty much every Capcom fighter soundtrack last gen.SFxT is good but its inconsistent , you have good tracks and some completely shiet ones.

edit: Just outta curiosity, what non-throw unblockables have been in SF? Having a hard time thinking of one outside of fang/flame carpet.
It really was a crime that when they brought that stage to USF4 they decided to add some dumb generic theme, and not include any Final Fight song.... Why...
And active all the time to boot.

I don't remember anyone saying Reptile was ever broken, but that games balance changed a ton since I played it so who knows.I forgot all about this variation. I haven't played MKX yet; does it feel broken at all? I mean, I'm probably getting worried over nothing, but I dunno. I felt unsure about that Reptile then, so F.A.N.G. having that V-Skill has me unsure now. Hopefully seeing him in action might change my mind?
I think it was said to be grey life.
Perfectly acceptable then
Real life might start to become a weird reverse Healing situation
Nah, I don't think it's grey life otherwise how would it differentiate from the flame carpet?
One is stationary and one isn't. There's a huge difference in execution right there.
There's also this. You would think grey life would show.

I can't dig this generic techno stuff. It all sounds like something that Deadmou5 guy would play. Why can't Capcom put some real effort into the music like ASW does?
A section of Ryu's life bar appears to be marked out to indicate how much total damage the poison is going to do. It's just a lighter shade of purple instead of grey.
But you wonder, why mark the whole lifebar as purple if only that tiny part will deal damage? There's got to be a reason.
It's a visual marker that you're still under the poison status. I know your character turns purple as well, but what if you're using an alternate color that already looks purple or some shit like that. It's just an extra heads up.But you wonder, why mark the whole lifebar as purple if only that tiny part will deal damage? There's got to be a reason.
Is there anything left to find at this point?2.3 gig update on Steam... installing now and will see if they changed the encryption
Undoubtedly, one of the best in the game.
What is there left to leak? The bare bones story mode?HA... so they changed the encryption in the update... guess they can learn afterall.
Although might suck for anyone hoping for "uncensor" mods if nobody can crack the new encryption key
Striking fang to recover damage makes the mechanic different from grey damage which is what I was getting at originally. Grey damage recovers if you just avoid getting hit. I wasn't sure if my memory was failing so I didn't mention that trait, but I looked up srk's post on fang (after you just mentioned it) and the mechanic is indeed different from grey damage. My guess is that it is just to make it even more obvious that you are in the poisoned state in your peripheral vision (i.e. you don't necessarily need to look at a specific point on the screen to know that you need to strike F.A.N.G to end the damage-over-time).

Wake up cross up unblockables before USFIV, fireball ultra freeze during Vanilla and Urien had a few with the help of reflector in 3s... I think Oro does too.Ya they might nail the balancing, and I'll applaud them if they do. I can just easily see the character be considered this games decapre/c.viper.

C.Viper has the BEST theme ever. Fucking badass as shit:

hmmmm might have spoken too soon... looks like unrealpak is getting the job done.... at first glance I'm seeing they've renamed character folders to generic titles like "ABD"
