No way, dude is the worst of the 3. He would do best in a general and is basically a super churchy version of trump who hates gays more and is in the pocket of corporations.Cruz: the lesser of three evils.
I mean he's still awful but I'd take him over Trump or Carson.
Not that I'd vote for any of them.
At best, Cruz is a flavor of the month.
haha good description.
The way I look at it is this: if I believe he is a right-wing, religious zealot, then I think he believes the shit he says. Otherwise, the alternative is that he is actually a moderate or maybe even a secret left winger saying shit for potential votes, and that doesn't strike me as likely.
And Carson is a brain surgeon. So what?
I think he's a right-wing religious asshole, I just don't think he's actually going to "see whether sand glows in the dark." I'm sure he wants to get rid of Obamacare because he wants the government to exist for the sake of corporations and corrupt politicians, but I don't think he actually believes that "nothing is killing jobs or hurting the American economy more than Obamacare."
He was on Harvard Law Review, which means top of the class at one of the best law schools in the country.
Yep, he's smart. I think Scalia is a good comparison. Extremely smart but willing to bend himself over backward to make some asinine position seem logical. He was on Harvard Law Review, which means top of the class at one of the best law schools in the country. He has some modicum of intelligence, yet he is a godawful person and a complete corporate shill. He comes off like a slimy televangelist, I can't stand the guy. I don't understand how he appeals to anyone.
i rather have Trump as President than Cruz, Jeb!, Rubio. Trump is a fake Republican which makes him less scary while Rubio wants to restart a Cold War with his 1984 Reagan erection. Jeb wants to prove that he is better than his brother and will bring endless wars to fulfill the Bush profecy while holding hands with the SaudsI would rather have Trump as president than Cruz. That guy is a fucking demon.
Ben isn't dumb. And Carson is a brain surgeon. So what?
Isn't Cruz just as unelectable in a general election as Trump?
Cruz's face is permanently stuck how people look when they're watching the game on their phone while on the toilet
Not sure who would be worse from this country, Trump or Cruz. I think Donald is a bigot whereas I think Cruz is downright sinister. Dude is a Slytherin if ever there was one.
No you're thinking of Rubio. Cruz can't even speak Spanish. Nobody in the establishment has any faith in him appealing to Hispanics.
someone told me this week that Cruz is an extremely smart guy. Is that a prevailing belief amongst his fans?
Laying low? There is like some disgusting bromance going on. He likes Donald. If Cruz were somehow to win, Trump would be in his cabinet or a supreme court justice? Would be just as bad as a Trump Presidency.
I would assume a shift of this magnitude would be an outlier, unless other polls starts to corroborate it. I mean, wasn't Trump's Muslim bashing only helping him with the base?
The "fiscal conservatives" are a handful of wealthy billionaires on the East Coast. They don't represent an actual voting constituency, they just fund the circus.Does the Republican Party only appeal to the stereotypical religious and bigoted? Shouldn't there be some fiscal conservative people in the party who aren't into all this other junk?
Do they just not vote in these polls?
I don't know if "smart" is the right word.
"Shrewd", maybe. This is a guy who can really pander.
Not quite. Cruz isn't directly criticizing Trump because he thinks when Trump falls out that he'll be the recipient of Trump's voters.
The Establishment's only hope: Trump & me in a cage match.
Sorry to disappoint -- @realDonaldTrump is terrific. #DealWithIt

Ted Cruz spent a large chunk of his life arguing in front of the Supreme Court. Hate him all you want, but he's a smart guy.
Look at this tweet though, could be a mind game he is playing. But still.

Wikipedia said:After graduating from Princeton, Cruz attended Harvard Law School, graduating magna cum laude in 1995 with a Juris Doctor degree. While at Harvard Law, he was a primary editor of the Harvard Law Review, and executive editor of the Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, and a founding editor of the Harvard Latino Law Review.Referring to Cruz's time as a student at Harvard Law, Professor Alan Dershowitz said, "Cruz was off-the-charts brilliant". At Harvard Law, Cruz was a John M. Olin Fellow in Law and Economics.
Well, Iowa hasn't exactly been stellar at picking the winner on the GOP side. Huckabee won huge in 2008 and Santorum won in 2012.
Trumps strategy seems largely about momentum and being ahead in the polls. If he begins losing the illusion breaks and his entire campaign would probably collapse. Furthermore, he has to win the majority if he doesn't want to get into a brokered fight.
A senior adviser to Donald Trump's campaign learned the hard way not to hastily fire off tweets on Friday, when he tweeted an attack on Texas Sen. Ted Cruz accompanied by a photo of his bare legs.
He tweeted the misfire was a tech error that accidentally captured the image of his legs, and blamed the media for being "in it together."

Agree. I think much of what Trump spouts is tongue in cheek. Cruz is full on scary as fuck.I would rather have Trump as president than Cruz. That guy is a fucking demon.
