Any idea what race Snuke was? I thought he could of looked somewhat similar to Darth Plagueis' race then started thinking "WHAT IF IT IS HIM AND HE LIVED AND FIGURED OUT HOW TO CHEAT DEATH?!"

Quite liked the film but it wasn't without its flaws.

I dont believe that was Snokes actual form personally

No Plagueis, no. Brand new villain. He doesn't look like a Muun anyway.

Eh, why not? Doesn't seem like the kind of guy who's interested in hiding, given the 40-foot hologram projection he got installed.

Speaking of Snoke, I'm so glad neither him or Kylo got "Darth" slapped in front of their name.

Whats the deal with Rays visions when she touched the saber? Was it past/future?

Got back.

While I had problems with it, mainly the similarity stuff people have ALREADY beaten to death, I really enjoyed it. If the prequels had been released yesterday this would have felt like an impossible Star Wars movie. It had nice action, good characters and was funny and didn't take itself too seriously...and the fast paced nature of it is a 50/50 for me in that it wasn't stuck on anything for too long but some scenes could have done with a bit more.

The way people had talked about it made it seem like Kylo got swallowed up by the ground but perhaps that was an old draft or just some misconception. I also kinda hope that, despite what Kathleen Kennedy said about the saga being about the Skywalkers, that Rey is just a force sensitive child, not Luke's kid.

It also felt so weird to actually have a stormtrooper unmasked.

It's just so great to have some actual mystery back in Star Wars. The story is heading towards the unknown rather than towards events we've already seen.

Supreme leader really dissapointed me. That was the character hidden from the public?

I felt like Harrison Ford's performance was a bit flat. He didn't feel much like han solo to me, too quiet and gentle. It was like if Han Solo had gone a bit senile or was high the whole movie.
I though so for the first scene or two after the 'we're home!' line but for the rest of the movie he was excellent.

'Thats not how the Force works' was a brilliant line, delivered perfectly.

Past: flashback of the new jedi temple burning? and Kylo massacring Luke's padawans.
Future: Her future encounter with Kylo (maybe cousin, brother or just she felt his "force print")
Jedi ability.

Didn't she also see the hallway where Luke and Vader fought in ESB?

It felt really significant when you saw a stormtrooper actually stop and look distraught that one of his fellow soldiers had been killed in combat.

I also liked how Kylo 'sensed' Finn turning. Maybe he can use the force too.

There was a lot of sound bytes during the flashback. Luke's no from esb. A yoda quote. I think even palpatine telling Anakin to do it when he killed dooku. Dat prequel presence!

Any one hear any more?

There were actually a couple more prequel references than I expected. Clone armies and the balance of the force were both mentioned.

3- I felt the no kiss "romance" was too forced. She could have kissed him while he was into Odin sleep, OR he could have kissed her since it was established from the start of the movie that Finn had some sort of knight in shining armor complex.
My fear is that they will stall the romance for the entirety of the trilogy. I mean: you have an African-American lead, the hero of the story is clearly Ray (a girl), why get shy about a clear-cut romance between the two of them? Makes no sense. These are two kids who basically have being alone their entire lives, now they find each other and... this? It makes sense in Miyazaki movies, because the characters are children, but here? Not so much. My belief was not suspended.

Your suspension of disbelief was ruined because they didn't hook up? What?

BUT WHY THE SWINGING CAMERA SHOT

I really wish he was in a dark cave or something, give it some atmosphere, weight

Dudes just chilling on a fucking Hill looking at the sea

I waited years for this moment damnit ;_;

Yeah that was a bad shot to end on and it didn't feel like it fit the movie.

Yeah, that shot was awkward. I was thinking to myself "aaaand here come the credits" when they were showing individual shots of Rey and Luke, but then that final shot came in and threw me off. It didn't really fit.

It was perfect. Top 5 moment I've had in a cinema.

Yeah. It's just I said to my friend afterwards in that moment the stormtroopers felt like people/characters rather than action figures that can't shoot for shit.

Anyone remember the early "spoilers" stating that the movie would open with a sewered hand flying through space? 😂

it was actually a hand holding a lightsaber
and then it was just the lightsaber

In fact, the callsheets most of the spoilers came from still opened with the lightsaber floating through space scene, and that scene factored into the vision (which was fairly different as well) in the middle of the film.

So Finn is probably my favourite character. I immediately gravitated towards him. He's just this right amount of endearing, heroic but also naïve and a bit cowardly that I love.

Also I'm sorry i'm never gonna take the name of Snook seriously but I love it. I'm just gonna call him Grand Pope Snooker or Papa Snorkel from now on

Why is the lightsabre blue and not green that is given to Rey? Luke loses his blue one on Cloud City so builds the green one.

How the hell does Poe get off Jakku? Incredibly poor that this wasn't explored at all.

Cause it's the blue one Maz is in possession of which is Anakin's light saber.

The saber is the one Luke lost on Bespin. Presumably some comic book will explain how Maz found it.

It's actually been explained already at a kiosk in Disneyland, of all the places.

It's like, the most simple answer ever:

Some dude just like, found it at the bottom of Cloud City. From there it basically got bartered/sold/traded like a rare collectible on ebay.

"Did anyone find my rotting hand? I had been quite attached to it"

1. Because someone went and picked it up between TESB and now. I mean it's the sort of story that's ripe for an EU tale rather than an expository scene or flashback.

2. Probably comandeered a ship? I was kinda iffy about this before I saw it but he mentions he woke up in the middle of the night away from the crash/Finn...it feels like a deleted scene on DVD/BluRay. Not essential but would have been nice.

They did a fine job with Chewie raging after Han is killed. Felt legitimate.
Never upset a Wookiee, especially one with a bowcaster and military grade explosives. If Chewie and Kylo ever meet again, Kylo is getting his arms torn out of their sockets.

It was Anakin's old lightsaber, the one Luke lost at Bespin.

Yeah, given where it falls down, it will be though to explain how it has been found

There's no "bottom of cloud city". It's a gas planet. If something falls down there, there's no ground.

1. I would presume Luke still has his green saber. Why would he not?

2. He's space batman.

Eh, to call it a prequel reference is a bit odd. That's just what happened. That is the cannon history of the universe.

Well to me clone armies are something from the prequels. The Clone Wars could have been anything until Episode 2 came out.
