So does Cammy have any combos outside of her target in this version? I haven't been able to combo shit so far.
 
Is crush-counter on sweeps as big of a problem for Sim as it seems? I've only played against of a few, but it was letting me get right on top of him from fullscreen. Do you just need to be more careful about throwing out the low normals?
 
I feel like as Birdie I either hit this zone and I'm untouchable or they just jump all over me and I can't get them off.
I felt the same way. I got out of a few situations with (EX) Bullhorns and even jumping over people with his HCB+K command grab, but that was pretty reckless. V-Reversal did help on one or two occasions but I was mostly hesitant to use my V-Gauge for anything other than V-Trigger.
 
Yes and no. Yes, it explains everything. But it jams everything into a single segment. Go play Sol--er--Ragna's "tutorial." Watch how Rachel explains everything and then goes "okay, I want you to hit Bang to 50% health. Attempt to do this with all this stuff I just explained two minutes ago and you probably didn't process. START!"

That's the problem with Blazblue's (and by proxy: Guilty Gear)'s tutorial. It explains this stuff and doesn't actually "explain" it to where you remember/understand completely.

Xrd's tutorial is outstanding...
 
poking is impossible in this game for me, I get crush countered every time, meanwhile, everyone else seems to be able to poke me to death no problem...

also, does Gief have a single combo of anykind?
 
For someone who has barely read up on the mechanics of SF5, what's the crush counter system? My best guess would be a counter-hit system that causes stagger?

That's the gist of it, getting a CH on heavy moves does more damage and gives you a lot of hitstun, sometimes staggers. On airborne opponents you get spin states and when you get CH on sweeps you get a hard knockdown.

Only Birdie I got had so much rollback I had no fucking idea of what was going on.

Yes. But it condenses things into too few segments. It's funny and has comedy to go through. But if you asked me what new systems the game has over XX, I honestly couldn't tell you despite having played the tutorial. That's a tutorial failure.

I mean my actual reply would be something to the effect of:

"Um... they changed the roman cancels and added some-sort of throw-reverse-like function from Blazblue but isn't a throw-reverse but for defense. I dunno it's name. ASCIIShrug.txthere"
 
I need to learn to land Zangief's air SPD not on accident. Do you have to complete the 360 motion in the air or can you do a 360 ending in up/up forward and have it come out?
 
So I've lost to Necalli 3 times because his st.HK beats out the armour of Laura's ex. Reversal elbow that's supposed to have armour?

I don't get it, maybe I'm getting hit before the armour starts? Like I've gotten crush countered by that one normal 3 times lol, feels inconsistent but there's gotta be a reason why. Like i've beaten it before then sometimes I get beat by it, but my attack is supposed to have armour.. I don't understand
