Oh Abrams you MFer! I NEVER saw that coming!

What a wonderful film. I didn't think it could live up to the Hype, but it does. Parts of it feel compressed, but the rest of it is as perfect as it could be.

A real achievement. I don't see how it could have been better.

Nobody does Retro tech better than Abrams.

I'd be.. okay with this, sorta, but why would he be an old man ghost in ESB/ROTJ but a younger ghost 30 years later?

Same reason vader's force ghost becomes his 10 years younger self.

And besides they can just age him up a bit, I don't think most people would find it confusing.

I doubt it will happen though, it's probably just a neat little reference.

As I was sitting in the theater, watching the credits, a group of four kids about seven or eight years old started chanting, "Disney sucks! Disney sucks!" "Bring back Lucas!" they said.

I'm not sure what they're so mad about, though it might have had something to do with Han's death. But now I can't help but imagine internet discussions ten years from now where college kids complain about Disney and Abrams ruining Lucas's original vision.

I just can't imagine living in a place like that.
So foreign to me.

lmao that's bizarre, young kids doing it too nonetheless.

My bet is on family relation between Snoke and Rey. It seems Snoke is very keen on getting Rey to turn to the dark side

I don't know if Snoke descendant specifically but my gut tells me Rey has some Sith bloodline for sure.

We already had an Obi Wan ghost in the OT, many times, really. If you count his voice, you have him as a ghost in all three movies.

So -- Why would the ghost change ages after already being a ghost? I don't care if Anakin's ghost was younger than him before death, that's irrelevant. Why would the ghost shift ages after already being a ghost?

I avoided all spoilers before hand lol great movie

Wish Luke talked lol

I knew somebody would die tho

Rey is def Luke's daughter right?

Folks let's be real about Finn. He was awkward and a lot of humor felt forced. His "Rayyyyyyy" scream was cringe. Of all the new characters he was the least compelling or interesting.

Supposedly this is from James Arnold Taylor's (Obi-Wan's voice actor in The Clone Wars) Twitter account:

So Ewen McGregor can be heard during Rey's vision??

That's pretty interesting information.

I don't think they gave him much to do, but he was by far the most charismatic character onscreen.

I think Rey is of the Palpatine blood line. That's why Luke dumped her in a desperate attempt to keep her away from the Knights of Ren. When he sees her on the ledge, that isn't the face of someone who sees his daughter for the first time in a bunch of years, but of the face of someone that knows that she might be his only hope to bring balance back by training her. Just a theory though.

[shitty quality] video of Rey's vision: http://sendvid.com/i0q9ybuc

Clearly OT Obi-Wan/Alec Guinness saying "Rey."

Ok, if Rey is really meant to be seeing something someone else saw (if not herself), Ren saves her or that person's life. The guy with the mushroom hat is about to hit her with a stick, but then gets killed by Ren.

Watching that leaked video I think it actually is Snoke. Don't think it means Rey is his relative or anything like that but its definitely seems like his face is there for a split second.

It sounds like Alec Guinness saying Rey
and Ewan McGregor saying these are your first steps.

Maybe Ewan can impersonate Alec well. I mean he'd probably need to start sounding like him a little more if they decided to do an Obi-Wan anthology anyway...

Maybe but it doesn't make sense if he was left to take care of her.

Why is he being such a dick about giving her food and then rats her out to the New Order? He'd be the galaxy's worst guardian.
I assume that Max Von Sydow's character was actually watching over her from a distance. The junkyard dude was a convenient front.

It would change because the original actor is now dead and if they wanted it in the movie that's what they'd do.

Maybe they'll release a new set of special editions with Ewan Mcgregor CG'd over Alec Guiness.

The soundtrack is growing on me a bit. So far, my favorite tracks are Main Title and The Attack on Jakku Village, The Scavenger, Follow Me (especially the bit with the Rebel Fanfare), Rey's Theme, The Starkiller, March of the Resistance, Snoke, Torn Apart, The Ways of the Force, Scherzo for X-Wings, Farewell and The Trip, and The Jedi Steps and Finale. That's 12 out of the 23 tracks.

Some someone or some people wanted to kill Rey, and Ren didn't want her to be killed, if that is Rey herself.

Maybe because of the whole face morphing stuff, Kylo saves Snoke who decides to teach him in the ways of the dark side as payment.

Oh shit Ewan McGregor voiced that "Rey" in Episode VII? Huge news if true. Prob means she's a Kenobi.

Obviously she isn't his daughter, prob grandaughter or something.

Nope

Finn was awesome. Laughed about jokes and akward face expressions. Cant wait to see more ofh him :)

I don't see why they couldn't old age makeup Ewan McGregor to look like Alec Guiness. He doesn't need to show up as a suddenly younger version of Obi-wan Force ghost.

Snoke is too old for that though. And at the end if looks like Ren is moving towards Rey as if to capture or attack her.

Could be though.

So who is his daughter?....
Her mother? Could be her father as Kenobi's son. I still remember rumors of the casting early on was looking for a character to play Kenobi's grandaughter a couple years back, so it really wouldn't be out of place if it ends up being true.

Loved every bit of it. Well maybe not the whole does fuck all Phasma.

Ill go with Rey being more Sith. She got dat aggression and hate in the fight with Ren.

Sucks about Van Sydow. Thought he'd have a bigger role.
