D'oh... (regarding Nuuvem).

So what's the concensus on MGS V, is it worth it at the sale price ? I haven't played the previous games, but I was interested in this one due to the open world gameplay...

i wanna buy something...

One of the reasons nobody can get to their wishlist now, while in previous sales it worked fine but took a while to update, it it's likely running on the same servers that process discovery queues. Valve put out a notice on the sale page and on the comic book page that completing discovery queues earns trading cards. So everyone is trying to do that while everyone else is simultaneously trying to access their wishlist and... well it wasn't very well thought out I don't think.

Ugggh, the store main page says I completed my Discovery Queue for today and I can start another one, but I didn't get any cards. Hopefully I didn't get jacked because the thing wouldn't load.

I know there must be a tremendous amount of people on steam right now, but everytime this happens, I get just a little bit mad.

Excellent excuse for a nap...

Resident Evil Revelations 2 Ep. 1 -- MB-29921AE08A6BF85D - Taken by Maxwood

Everybody buy Aviary Attorney, it's a GotY contender

Dang, can't get into my wishlist to see what's on sale that interests me. Just loads the community page :(

EDIT: D'oh, now it works :)

Seeing some higher discounts than during autum sale.

Trine 3 75%
Dream 80%
Marvin's Mittens 75% (THE perfect Christmas game)
Tembo Badass Elephant 75%
Gabriel Knight Remake 75%
....

My wishlist might actually shrink.

how are you even seeing those? nothing loads for me: steam, database, isthereanydeal, nothing! it has to be a nightmare

Some people just want to boohoo about how they're not getting games at the obscene discounts they want.

Many of us have participated in Steam sales for several years and had grown accustomed to getting "obscene discounts" regularly during winter and summer sales. I don't think it is unreasonable for us to react negatively to what appears to be a Steam-wide tight-fisting on discounts.

66% is the new 75%
33% is the new 50%
0% is the new 25%

For everyone recommending Contradiction, school me on Contradiction.

Its an FMW game where you play as a detective investigating a murder, you interview people and try and spot contradictions in their stories. The greatness lies in the acting which straddles the line of campy, hammy and plain mania flawlessly. I played this with my girl one night while completely lit off wine and it was some of the most fun I've had all year, easy spot on my goty list.

Contradiction got 20+ mentions in the GOTY 2015 thread, to my positive surprise.

Grab the two-time The Game Awards winner Her Story (best narrative / best performance) if you haven't already, as well.

FMV galore!

Snakebird is a PC exclusive (OSX/LIN as well) puzzle games about cute birds shaped like snakes in a cheery, bright world. Both the art style and the score of the game evoke a very touching, peaceful, and beautifully innocent atmosphere.

However, that is nothing but a lie that is surface deep. Once you pass the first few levels which guide you through the mechanics, you are put in a situation where the world map begins to branch out.

It's adorable, isn't it? It's large, but it evokes a very friendly, inviting atmosphere. At first look, this is the kind of game you'd expect to see on your child's iPad or iPod touch, right?

Wrong again. This is just the selection of which of the 9 circles of Hell you'd like to traverse through first is.

The mechanics are fairly simple! You control Snakebirds, moving them around, getting fruit and moving obstacles. Sometimes you get one Snakebird, sometimes you get a few and you have to use them together as teamwork to reach the goal. Once all the fruit is collected, each Snakebird has to get through the colourful portal that opens up to leave the level. Thankfully, there is a button that is an equivalence to a "ctrl+z", undoing your last move.

You will make the Snakebirds die. They will literally quiver in fear as they stare down a pitfall, or a spiked block, or spikes in general. If another Snakebird is in danger, and you switch to your other Snakebird, he will glare you down with the force of a thousand suns. A look full of hate.

The first time I bought this game, I bought it full price. I played it for a while, before nearly tearing my hair out in frustration. I enjoyed a solid 8 hours of gameplay during a week where I had next to no consistent internet - and I hadn't downloaded many other of my games to my new harddrive. By the time I had internet back up reliably, I immediately refunded it. Snakebird had beaten me, beaten me into a bloody pulp. I 3-stock Contra with ease. I've had no issues toppling Miyazaki and co.'s Souls games, nor Bloodborne. Hardcore endgame raiding in MMOs? Been there, done that. Rhythm games? Bring 'em on, I got this. Shmups? I can do it, pass me the arcade stick. Fighting games? I'm slightly better than the average Joe.

Snakebird? Snakebird broke me.

But I just bought it again in the Steam sale! I mean, it's half off, and I've spent time away from it. Maybe the difficulty was routed in me being frustrated by silly, easy puzzles?

Nope.

Snakebird
was, and continues to be, ballbustingly hard. I'm tearing my hair out here. Once I finally think I have the level beaten, I realize that there is no way for me to get both of my Snakebirds to the portal, or I've trapped myself to a point where I can't get that last piece of fruit so easily...

Anyways, I'm going back to playing Snakebird until I have a stroke or brain hemorrhage. You should play it too.

It's 50% off during the Winter Steam Sale. ($3.49 USD)

It has trading cards, a badge, cloud save support, controller support, and a 98% positive Steam rating (where essentially all of them praise the game for it's aesthetic and deadly difficulty!).

DOES THIS LOOK LIKE THE FACE OF MERCY?

If you haven't played the previous games and aren't caught up in Kojima's insanity, you will probably like the game more.

It's a fucking amazing game for pure 3rd person stealth gameplay. Probably the best controlling and most satisfying ever IMO.

Discovery cue not working or I'd spend some time getting cards there, waiting for Store to work properly again. Oh well, off to Dishonored for a couple hours.
