Are the Steam Winter Sale only obtainable if you are lvl 10 +? My friend is level 6 and finished his discover queue twice telling him that he got 2 cards but they didn't show up for him.

I hate you Bethesda

it's been like that for past 3 steam sales. People bought the regular game (like me) get screwed over because the same discounts doesn't apply to the DLCs.

Yes. There's many fantastic single player missions on the workshop, such as Pilgrimage, Resist and Deliverance. It's not where the game's at it's best, which is when you get some buddies together and fight as a squad, but it's still very enjoyable.

So, you're saying the official campaign isn't that great? Seeing you're recommending mods (apparently)?

Not interested in the multiplayer as i don't enough have IRL friends for that, nor time nor patience for organizing any kind of teams.

I may grab Fable Anniversary for $6 since I enjoyed the original game back on the Xbox. Anybody have anything bad to say about the PC version?

Quake bundle is complete shit. They raised the price. Doesn't even come with Quake 4. Bundlestars Quake bundle from earlier this month had all that AND Quake 4. AT the same price! Fucking hate that I didn't get it when I had the chance. Hope they bring it back.

So, Dark Souls Prepare to Die Edition and Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin both got good discounts and I was thinking if I should get both right now. I've never played a Souls game before, I've only seen friends playing them and I thought they were interesting, but never came around buying it.

Now I've finally decided to give it a try, but I don't know if I should get Dark Souls II right away or just try the first on and then, if I like it, try the next one. Granted, if that happens I would have to wait til winter (south america) for Dark Souls II to get a new discount.

I'm a little short on the money side (only have around $20) and was looking forward to getting other things, like Skyrim: Dragonborn and Aviary Attorney, maybe Witcher 1 and 2 as well, since that is another franchise I was hoping to get into. What would you guys suggest?
Souls games are big. Get Dark Souls 1 and play it. Once you're in the mood for Dark Souls 2 it will have gotten cheaper in a future sale.

I'd recommend just getting Dark Souls 1 for now.

Soooo the higher the level of Sale badge you have the more decorations your profile gets. Right now at level one I've got a couple of tacky bows and a snowy border on my profile but someone on my friends list who is up to level 5 already has an extra ribbon!

Just get the first one now, and pick up the second one down the line. It's not going anywhere.

Remember to grab DSFix for Dark Souls.

King's Quest episode 1 is $0.99. No idea if it's good and/or if the season pass will ever get a decent discount, but that's a start.
It's not good. It's great.

dark souls 2 Scholar of the first Sin with a new all-time low? Color me intrigued. that's two games on my wishlist then;

- Undertale
- Dark Souls 2 SOTFS

Anyone with Endless Legend experience know if the Guardians expansion is worth it? Definitely jumping on Shadows as the new major faction seems pretty awesome but I don't know much about what Guardians adds to the table.

Also buy Endless Legend. I literally had 0 4x/Civilization-style game experience when I picked it up during the Autumn sale and now, 40 hours later, that game (and rocket league) is my crack. Hours just melt away playing it.

doit doit, 10 bucks for the base game.

Just buy all the DLC. It's all worth, except for maybe the Echoes of Auriga extra soundtrack one. Guardians modifies the tech tree in a pretty significant way, and adds super units - "guardians" - as a potential research/combat path to take.

This. Plus the Season Pass for the DX9 version still is not discounted nearly a year later. FFS, Namco...

Is it just me or is Far Cry 4 not on sale at all? That is really disappointing if that is the case.

Ubisoft doesn't really do Steam sales that much other then minor price cuts. You can usually find all of their games much cheaper everywhere else that carries Uplay keys.

I see...they're selling Horizons as a complete different SKU, at full price. Not liking how they're handling these upgrades.

They're actually selling them like WoW expansions, if you buy Horizons you get all the available content, so you can either buy Elite Dangerous at 13 and then get a 15 dollar discount on Horizons or just buy Horizons which gets you the standard Elite: Dangerous content as well

You noticed that? Yeah, it's not great. There's some great missions during the campaign, and great moments, but overall it's a bit of a chore that's very inconsistent.

There's lots of fantastic mods on the workshop though, especially those three I mentioned. I've had days just disappear in the Pilgrimage mission.

They've been particularly stingy with this release. Personally, it's still a bit too expensive, but I want to feel fresh going into Dark Souls III. Been playing a bit too many Souls games.

Fuck Skyrim. Play Dark Souls right now.

Hmm.

Ubi isn't discounting AC Rogue on its own, but the combo pack with Unity is discounted? What was the weird shit they did last sale where they had their own dailies or something like that. Maybe Rogue will be a "daily" in that sense.

AC Rogue is discounted on uplay, as are many other ubisoft games.

FINAL FANTASY® XIII-2 still problematic about FPS or did they fix it? Can i play stable 60FPS with this system? (and maybe 4k)

i5 4590
16GB RAM
GTX 970

Guess i'll wait for the price to drop then.
I do have other games to play right now after all.

Is ARMA 2's campaign any good? (And it is any good as single player game in general?)

Here's one game I'm going to copy and paste things I previously wrote to try to get some people to try this severely underlooked quality game:

-----

Here's a game I'm currently playing on Steam that is way too overlooked for its own good:

Why Am I Dead At Sea

I'm about 3 hours in right now, and it's been getting very gripping. This game obviously has some Earthbound inspiration, but to explain it briefly, you're a ghost on a ship who is brought to consciousness by a spiritually gifted passenger on the ship to help prevent some sort of terrible occurrence that he senses is approaching the residents of the ship. You can possess people, but only if you know them well and reach a level of understanding how they work. Come to completely understand a person, and you can take full control of them. Each person you possess has a different personality obviously and recognition/relationship with others to allow different dialogue stuff to talk about, but each also has a special ability, ranging from being able to see what's in peoples pockets to being able to tell the tone of the voice someone's voice is in for a line of dialogue (okay, aggravated, hiding something, etc.). Even your spirit self has a special ability to peek into the mindscapes and thoughts of others (which is actually done in a pretty cool way). Featuring multiple endings and branching story possibilities, the game has enjoyable characters, an interesting and twisting story, and actually delivers many unexpected feelings of a range of emotions throughout, and has a really good soundtrack.

And yet it's barely gotten over 1,000 in sales and most don't even know it exists. Deserves WAY more attention.

Here's some screens:

This does look pretty good, and the premise is interesting. 100% positive ratings as well (only 26 reviews, but still).
