And these are actually prequels from an alternate timeline a la Star Trek 09? Well fuck me

They will vilify him. They will lie about him. But whatever they say, just remember:

Skywalker Is The Hero

Of course, as time flies by, that battle cry will be abbreviated.

Heard them say on the Empire podcast that when you hear Obi-Wan say "Rey?" That actually was Alec. They plucked it out of him saying the word "Afraid".

Ewan also has a line that's brand new where he says, "Rey, these are your first steps."

Curious they would go to all that trouble to put to Obi-Wan lines in, both of which address Rey directly.

No, both Alec and Ewan were there. They recorded with Janes Arnold Taylor too but that was replaced by Ewan. They edited Alec's old lines to get the "Rey!" line.

Yeah last I heard was James Arnold Taylor's tweet saying it was Ewan. But I just read an actual article about it.

So it was Alec saying "Rey" and Ewan saying "These are your first steps."

Is anyone with me that Obi Wan was getting a little alone time with Padme's decoy while Qui-Gon and Padme were doing official Trade Federation stuff? I vote Rey Kenobi.

If force powers were hereditary, shouldn't jedis be having kids left and right? Luke should be having babies on every planet with a spaceport and a bed.

I think Rey is not his daughter cause that would be too contrived. But then again most of TFA was rather contrived so who knows.

make Rey Shmi's reincarnation, have her kiss Kylo like 5 times and later reveal she's his great grandma. bam: peak star wars incest.

Poe has got to be the quickest I've gone from meeting a character to loving the shit out of them

Movie kicked ass. Saw it in IMAX 3D and the sound effects when Finn and Kylo were hacking away at each were intense as fuck.

ArmGunar where did you see that theory? :D
I think it can be pretty cool, like the same knock out during the ending of SW5 with "i'm yur father" but with kylo

Kylo: "You didn't knew him! "
Rey: "NO! I'M HIS MOTHER!"

:D

In the art book, the Ghost of Vader sketches are pretty freaking sweet. They have it set to where you'd see normal Ani on one side and then this burned and mechanized version on the other, similar to Two-Face.

And it's strange but when Ben in talking to the mask and saying how he feel the call to the light, I imagine it as Luke is reaching out to him in an attempt to turn him back.

Also in Rey's flash back when Old Obi-Wan says "Rey" does anyone else hear it as a question? Like "Rey?". Was something that caught me off guard on my second viewing.

I was planning on seeing it imax 3d tomorrow. Went online earlier today to buy tickets, already sold out of all showings tomorrow. Oh shit. Guess I've got to wait for the weekend.

Yeah I saw it in IMAX Sunday and want to go again but everything is pretty much sold out even through next weekend, so I'm looking at like a 2 week wait minimum :(

I didn't see that when I flipped through the art book, but that reminds me of this from the Korean webcomic.

Well, they may be weary of popping out tons of recruits for the Dark side. Need to get the Jedi house in order first.

Rey being Shmi Skywalker would actually be cool as fuck, if Lucasfilm plans to go down that route then they have my full support. That shit would break the internet.

While I do like Old Chewie, is it hard to belief that he is better off now? More life savings, more hair products, wears his hair back.

Him and Han were pretty scruffy back in the day.

Still think Rey is adopted by Luke not biological.

There needs to be literal fresh blood added to this franchise.

It still satisfies the "it's about the skywalkers" because of the adoption. Goes like this:

Luke goes recruiting Jedi 20 years ago
Comes upon orphan baby Rey
She's uber gifted in the force
Starts to train her at the temple
Shit goes down at the temple with Kylo
Luke is only able to save Rey
Rey is abandoned on Jakku and mind wiped

Fin

On a french forum, it was a kind of joke at first
Being a Star Wars fan, I am sure it's not the case and I hope but, in a parallel universe, I imagine this theory being true, it would create a black hole on Earth ahaha

Well Jedis fucked but avoided kids because not bein attached to a son is very hard.

also,Its not only hereditary, it can also randomly show up. Like Magic in Harry Potter

Why would Luke bail on the Galaxy for 10 years after his apprentice turned on him, slaughtered his students, and joined up with a new empire to fly a planet around, suck up suns, and blow up entire star systems? Because the view from that rock was THAT good?

Luke might not be the most hero-y of heroes in this trilogy. There's a reason the first time you saw him his white robes were grungy and filthy, and he looked half-crazy.

Pretty much everyone but Kylo has shit-to-nonexistent characterization. Why not Luke?
I've already gone on about Finn. Rey doesn't act anything like her backstory would suggest, either. Orphans who were never adopted have a lot of common traits and Rey exhibits precisely none of them.
They can't even get the little stuff right. Finn is just as gobsmacked as Rey by the idea of the force being real, yet he just watched Kylo use it.

Rey is gonna end up Starbucks did for Battlestar Galactica. I just know it. The speculation surrounding here is reaching critical levels. Writers will be left with no choice but to take this to nth degree.

Oh yeah! This might be the definitive clue. Also those calling Luke a bad father, should consider why he did what he did.

I like the wording of it. "You imagine an ocean. I see the island." Functions as both foreshadowing of Luke's location and Rey's awareness of the Force, and as a metaphor for their paths: Rey's expanding possibilities and Kylo's increasing isolation.

that theory about rey being one of luke's students but she got brain-wiped because they got rekt by the knights makes too much sense so it's probably that. as long she isn't luke's kid.

Fin

Agreed. And this fits with my theory that they actually discover her as an "artifact" in one of the temples. Luke and Snoke are both trying to figure out why/how to utilize her.

This also absolves you from the "mind wipe" issue. She's discovered and already lost her memory.

This also gives you the ability to let the EU explore ancient history, but the movie doesn't need to do that much. Just say "an ancient Jedi descendant frozen in a temple."

Finn is a TON better than Jar Jar. How is this even a comparison? And this comes from someone who doesn't actively hate Jar Jar....

Jar Jar was a perfect killing machine.

Am i the only one during the movie for the last battle between Rey/Finn and Kylo that was like : "OMG IT'S REVERSE! SNOW IN 7 , LAVA IN 3 between obiwan and Anakin!"

Yeah its a pretty deep one line.
