Football Manager 2016

FM 16.

I'm 80h deep into it and it has unlimited replay value. But it's not for everyone so if you're not familiar with the franchise Telltale Collection + Witcher Trilogy + EW Bundle is the way to go.

Anybody have any feedback for any of the following?

The Talos Principle
Besiege
Legend of Grimrock 2
Darkest Dungeon

The Talos Principle is excellent. The closest comparison is to Portal, but instead of a sci-fi humourous romp, it's an intense philosophical analysis of the nature of existence, life, legacy, science, and antiquity. The base game is quite lengthy, and the puzzles get very complex by the end. There are a bunch of really well hidden collectibles, too. The DLC, Road to Gehenna, is a much more narrative-focused expansion. Actually, I found the novelty of the way it tells its story to be one of my favourite narrative experiences this year. The puzzles are a bit easier, but remain just as inventive. You definitely have to love puzzle games to get anything out of The Talos Principle, but if you also dig philosophy and cerebral narratives as well, it's an absolute treat.

Going to get Total Attila + all DLC for -66%

Damn, I am spending a lot more on this Steam sale than I thought I would.....

They pull me back in gif goes here.

Is Pillars of Eternity or SOMA like to get any cheaper? I already own PoE, but these are probably the only two games I will buy.

Also, a bit unrelated, but will GoG have a holiday sale?

Game makes you recognize how terrible a physicist you could be.
explain a game plot badly?

Solid game, if you're into building really out there contraptions to destroy things. You have to have patience, though, and learn the way. I enjoyed it. I should reinstall and play some more, actually, it's one of the few games this year I genuinely had fun with.

Football Manager 2016

Choose destroying your life while fulfilling your long denied dreams. Choose having your 18 year old wonderkid demand an impossible wage to force a move to your most hated rivals. Choose the agony of 40 shots on target and no goals to relegate you on the last day. Choose the ecstasy of two last minute goals to win the final.

Also, you can play it like Bloodbowl if you so desire.

Cities: Skylines - After Dark is 33% off.

Is this good enough or should I wait for a better deal?

How essential is this DLC?

Already have the main game.

If I remember correctly, all of the actual content from After Dark was patched into the main game. The DLC mostly just includes cosmetics I believe.

Got 6 games in my cart right now for $35...now we're starting the game where I let them sit and wrestle with how badly I want them/will I ever play them.

Back to Bed
Her Story
LISA
Sunless Sea

Done for this time around I think.

Good choice on Her Story. I put way more time in than necessary to 100% it. LISA has some interesting humour in there, as well. I couldn't really get into it myself, but I guess earthbound isn't exactly my type.

I really miss the way the old sales were set up. It gave me something to look forward to during the sale every few hours.

With you on this one. I sort of miss staying up all hours just to see the sales change. Even if more often than not it was disappointment.

This is it. Nothing more will happen.

Haha. Do people even read the OP? There are NO dailies or flash.

Last sale, a few titles received discounts later in. :P

Deus Ex Human Revolution
Tomb Raider: Underworld
Orcs Must Die 2
Alpha Protocol
Undertale
Transistor
Bioshock 2
LISA

Alright, I think I'm done for now. Time to see if Undertale lives up the hype.

Worst Steam Sale ever. The age of Valve is done. This is literally it. There's nothing they can do now to prevent Origin and uplay from taking over.

That Dota 2 success got to their heads. Regular gamers get fucked thanks to those esport freaks.

Republic Commando doesn't seem to have held up at all. I had heard good things about it but the PC version is a complete mess.

Seems like it would be a better move to pick up the KOTOR games and forget about the rest of the SW collection...

Im not gonna lie, i rather just have all the deals up on the start of the sale, i just wish that the prices would be the price it gets when it goes on daily instead of the weaker prices

being a bit dramatic, aren't we?

Well we only have ourselves to blame, as the removal of flash and daily sales are likely the direct result of refunds being possible on Steam now. Personally I think it sucks, but I'd rather have consumer protections like that year round then better sales a few weeks out of the year.

I never needed the protection of a full refund before, and I am careful about my purchases so I doubt I will in the future. I would prefer energetic sales and promotions instead of this new tepid mediocrity we are saddled with.

but that's the whole point, it can't be anymore like it was, it's or we have no refunds or this kind of sale

Many of the prices seem to be daily-level though.

I mean e.g. Pillars of Eternity is 60% off. This is an acclaimed game which released this year.

It's not the discounts that I'm bugged by but I wish the featured deals on the frontpage would be changed more frequent and at much higher numbers per page.

There are just too many games on Steam to just browse through the catalog.

Yes, again, they could do whatever they wanted to. When Valve sent out pricing notices for this sale they basically said "Price everything as if you were featured in a daily deal sale in the past" and obviously the publishers came back with a resounding "lol, no".

Also, any time you put additional rules or stipulations on the refund policy you're exponentially increasing the amount of work that needs to be done in order to enforce those rules and stipulations.

Agreed, Valve just wanted to keep things simple with refunding and the publishers didn't feel like giving deep discounts aside from older titles.

So far, I got DS2: Scholar of the First Sin upgrade since it was down to 60%, I think previous sale it was 50%? The rest of the stuff I want is mostly Indy titles that weren't given enough discount for me to purchase since I have a huge back log. Not sure if I want to wait on Axiom Verge, I wanted a 40-50% discount and it is only 30% off.

What's the deal with Pillars of Eternity DLC? I'd get it even with just a 25-30% discount or so, but absolutely 0.
