few questions about wasteland 2:

is the game hard? for reference I find divinity original sin to be extremely hard, like i have no idea what I'm doing wrong in that game but everything just fucking eats me in that game.

how are the side quests and main story, are they good?

easter eggs and shit like fallout?

and lastly, can I buy it over at nuuvem?

Ehh.. if you find Divinity OS EE (EE explains things more and voiced helps) too hard then I would NOT recommend Wasteland. It's a lot more obtuse and has very large difficulty spikes.

Maybe try PoE, but I would think that one is harder to get into then either. How about Baldur's Gate 2. Yeah, it's old, but it's darn good.

The Discovery Queue was actually useful for me. Drive Any Track is Audiosurf crossed with Trackmania/Distance, and as a fan of both arcade racers and procedural music games it looks real tempting.

Okay so I finally bought Dark Souls...

Can anyone point me in the direction of what the hell I do to make the game good? (all the Durante mod stuff?)

Please note I'm an idiot, so if there's literally a list of directions somewhere, that would be awesome

Glad to say, despite having 133 games on my wishlist, I'm only going to get two games in this sale,

MGS:GZ
Tyrano Visual Novel Builder.

Games already purchased in the Steam and GOG.com Autumn Sale

Elite Dangerous
Roller Coaster Tycoon 1
Roller Coaster Tycoon 2
Locomotion
Train Fever
Capitalism 1 and 2
Anno 1404

Having over 100 games in my collection, I feel the urge to play some of the games I already have rather than buying more. It feels unnecessarily wasteful, like ordering dessert before even finishing the main. I also picked up the last three or four humble bundles, so I must have had least 50 new games in the last 2-3 months. God Bless PC gaming.

Have to say - this has generally been a disappointing sale. A lot of games are less than they have been in previous sales. Like MGS:GZ has been 75% off, but its only 60% off. It's $2 difference, but I don't really want to send Konami the wrong signal that I'm happy to buy it despite a lesser discount. Konami will think they are doing something right! Very very reluctantly buying it.

freshVeggie is your best bet on DS1 anything.

All the year end praise Undertale got didn't help its sale price. 20% off only? Oh well, it's a low price anyways I guess.
That's not really how it works though. Generally, the better a game is doing sales wise and in popularity, the smaller the discount. CS:GO doesn't go lower than 7.49, Arma when it was popular (due to the DayZ mod) only had a 25% off sale, etc. No point giving them big discounts when people are still buying lots of copies.

hmmm... do you know an example off the top of your head where it has fun with itself?

Like the first area allows you to recruit a goat as a pet companion if you take the ability to talk to animals.

Also, it has an ability to talk to animals in the first place. And a skill called Toaster Repair.

You'll also stumble across a vast collection of Atari ET cartridges if you explore near the start.

Talking to animals should be a genre-standard feature in CRPGs. Both Wasteland 2 and Divinity: Original Sin make superb use of it.

Pillars of Eternity just has pets; no talking, IIRC.

Durante's blog should have you covered.

I'd link to a specific page, but I can't remember if DSfix was completely replaced by GeDeSaTo or not. I've only used DSfix (which basically made the game playable) and it was really easy, so poke around there for your answer. Either DSfix or GeDeSaTo will make the game perfectly playable and fine, unlocking the resolution and even framerate if you want.

So is there anyone that DOESN't like undertale? I picked it up but yet to play it but I know with Witcher 3 even with all of the GOTY awards there are people who don't like it. I have yet to see that with undertale.

It's seeing its' share of backlash now, especially in the wake of the gameFAQS thing.

It's fantastic though. Might snag a copy or two to gift out.

No. Science can't explain it, but it has been established that it's impossible for the human brain to express dislike towards Undertale.

Yes, of course it has its detractors. I love it though.

People that haven't played it are indifferent to it, I imagine; I certainly am.

Plus, the crazy memes Undertale fans keep trying to foist on everyone only works to make me actively dislike it.

Nice, didn't want anything on day one of sale.

I only bought the one 16-cent game thus far. But the thing about no flashes or dailies is there's no pressure. I can mull it over. I can even sleep on it.

And of course I'm just trying to find the bright side. Cue the kid with the mood swing. (What was he really being asked anyway?)

I want to buy Axiom Verge but only 30% ($13.99) off :/ vs Fall of Cybertron which is 75% ($12.49) off. I can spend 15 more dollars. Someone please advise me lol or i'd love to know if either is on sale anywhere else for cheaper.

Here's another indie gem to consider: Deadnaut ($4.99)
Deadnauts, so named because they’re unlikely to return, must explore, investigate and fight their way through the derelict ships of dead civilisations. Every mission is unique and no two locations are the same. Each ship contains mysterious enemies and hostile security systems. Manage your Deadnauts' skills, talents, relationships and flaws - and you might get them out alive.

I'll let Pylon Trooper sing its praises
I goddamn love Deadnaut. A retrofuturist sci-fi horror strategy that takes as much inspiration from Jim Cameron's ALIENS as it does Amplitude's Dungeon of the Endless. Played from the Lt. Gormon position and an exercise in commanding via limited information, Deadnaut is the freshest piece of minimalist strategy since DEFCON. Spacehulk as imagined by Joe Haldeman or Ralph Peters, or some shit.
---
And the writing in it is phenomenal. Banter between the away team scrolls on the low-fi teletext display is atmospheric, especially when it corresponds to their monitored vitals.

Ship names, alien civilisations, threat analyses etc. are all so deftly written, it highlights - as is the case so very often - just how average triple A titles are in the script and fluff department. Deadnaut does more with text boxes and royalty-free sound effects than most so-called 'cinematic' marquee games. Keep your ping-pong suits and massive budgets, I say. Wouldn't want to have that brachycephalic committee of yours with their fingers off the bevel triggers.
It's excellent. I'd describe it as Space Hulk meets Capsule. I haven't put as much time as I'd like into the game, but what I have played is deep, challenging, and atmospheric. I love how immersive the experience is. The command console interface is superbly designed; every switch and knob has a function, and the detached perspective gives the game a unique engaging vibe that I haven't experienced from other tactical strategy games.

Fall of dybertron is always 75% off during steam sales on steam
Other sites could offer it for cheap though

Honestly, I've never heard of it. Time to head off to Steam to see what's up.

EDIT:
Sounds interesting.. how long is it?

Thrilled to find out my dogged 560Ti can push Witcher 3 40+ fps with high textures. Of course, I need to have low pretty much everything else and run it in 1280x800, but hey, the game doesn't look half bad with those settings and it sure beats dropping $400 CAD on a new card!

Divinity: OS EE or Pillars of Eternity for someone relatively new to CRGS?

I tried out Shadowrun form last years steam sale, and had some fun with it for a while, but for whatever reason I just lost interest/burnt out.

I'm really interested in these games, but afraid of the same thing happening again.

They are both terrific. Divinity has IMO much more interesting combat, and I really prefer the turn based combat vs the real-time-pause model. One thing that bothers me about Divinity is that it doesn't take itself really all that seriously. I know a lot of people consider that a plus, so you may as well; for me I much prefer the serious tone of a game like PoE. That's a minor gripe on my part though, it doesn't stop Divinity from being a must-buy for me.

I think it's a little overrated and boring but its funny and the music is pretty good... It's a cute game and all but i'm not in love with it like most people here.

I didn't like it. Couldn't bring myself to finish it.
