That looks really good. Sold. Pixeljunk Monsters Ultimate is also down to 0.89€, and though I'm not personally a fan, many people speak highly of it when Gaf discusses the TD genre.

EDIT: The standalone Pixeljunk Shooter is also 0.89€ or 1.39€ in a double pack with Monsters.

Standalone Shooter is also good, but Ultimate is worth the extra cost IMHO.

There's a possibility that there's an ARG going on. Small hints like the new "Follow the clues"-background, a small text down on one of the comic pages. It might lead somewhere. Progress halted quickly though but keep an eye on the comic and the mystery cards for clues.

Probably just an ARG for a half hour webcast about how the "Vive will expand your gaming life" or something like that..

omg omg the comic is 3 pages... the number of cards given per day is 3.. it's happening!

Grabbed Terraria and Never Alone, also picked up the not so cheap Minecraft Story Mode for the wee lad to watch me play.

There are a good few titles I wouldn't mind getting but I'll wait for sales later in the year to spread it out. Had an eye on Soul Reaver 2 (technical issues apparently) and the various endless dungeon roguelikes and the Bioshock Season Pass but resisted.

Having an ARG where you trick your customers into believing that your sales event is boring isn't a good business decision.

If anyone wants those old TR games:

I wonder if I should buy Turok now.

The promotion ends on December 24, but maybe it will go lower with another new deal?

Or someone will gift it to me?

IS there some wiki about it?

I like how it seems they're mocking the lack of dailies:

There are games that have no discount right now that will be put on sale later during the event. Just don't expect anything discounted already to go lower.

I'm fairly sure whatever is going to be on sale for the Winter Sale is already there, unless some oddball dev stated otherwise. The prices should stay from beginning to end.

No, there's going to be quite a few games that only get on sale later on. And they can also be limited in time and end before the whole sale ends.

I miss the ongoing hype and excitement so much :(

Yeah dude, I really really want the DLC but god damn is it still way more expensive than it needs to be. It's about $60 for all the DLC for 2 and 3. You could buy the Mass Effect Collection 3 times over for that much...

I remember since owning ME3 day one, the DLC has gone on sale on Xbox Live twice, and since I played so much of ME3 when it came out, I just sat on the game until I got all the DLC discounted. From what I remember, I got most of it half off.

But yeah, expensive normally, and rarely ever catches a breath of a discount. Shame, some stuff like Citadel I'd argue is essential.

You know what I really miss?

No, not the daily deals.

The Steam Sale Meta Game...

:(

Maybe if I take the barcode from this page:
http://store.steampowered.com/wintercomic/

Then combine it with the usual Steam profile structure:
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/7656119xxxxxxxxxx

Then I'll defiantly find who the true culprit is in this comic and earn myself a special badge!
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561194509990147

...or not. :(

Whats the deal with the cards? Why do they show questionmarks in their description and why do they have a "valid until" date? And the silhouettes?

The cards are related to the comic, which gets updated each day. So the card designs are not revealed for 2 onwards, but 2 will be revealed today when the store updates

I have all the DLC on Xbox 360 which if I remember right was all bought at full price... but really want it for PC, and I agree that a lot of the DLC is damn near essential to the overall enjoyment of the series, it somewhat feels incomplete without it. It's a damn shame really, a lot of great stuff in the DLC that most people will never play because of the price.

Finished Cibele, here my review:

David Cage would be proud.

A game about relationships so devoid of any believable human emotions or interactions, you'll make a ten times more emotional experience when asking a stranger where to find the next fastfoodchain.

A more superficial look at relationships is virtually impossible. You don't get to know the characters in any way outside of clicking on random .txt files on a fakedesktop telling you oh, this character likes Anime, FFX and the Matrix movies.

The dialogue consists to 50% only of "You're so cute", "No, i'm nat! [giggle]" and the story plays out in such a predictable and boring way, if you've ever been in an actual relationship or at least watched a movie about one, you'll know where it is going 2 minutes in. Furthermore, the way the game treats some of the more problematic aspects of the relationship it depicts - by that i mean the long distance - i would even consider it downright insulting to the people who are in a long distance relationship, as the game depicts this as an absolute non-issue.

"I want to see you"
"but we live so far apart"
"I'll just tell my mom i wanna visit my cousins and she'll buy me some flight tickets."
"ok"

And that is literally it.

But the worst thing is the pseudo-MMORPG gameplay.
It adds absolutely nothing. It's never picked up by the story outside of some sentence like "You da best gamer gurl", it never becomes a metaphor for their relationship like the puzzle segments in the game "Catherine" and it on itself is absolute shit to play as it only consists of clicking on an enemy one single time and waiting 30 seconds for it to die and repeating the process over and over again to fill a bar in the top right corner in order to trigger new dialogue between the characters. While doing so, it often goes down to 10FPS and seriously, not a single game in this world looking like this got any business to run at a worse framerate than Drakengard 3.

Overall i don't consider this game to be worth your time or your money unless you're in a very heavy emo phase and are currentling listening to Linkin Park and Bullets for my Valentine thinking "SO DEEP MAN NOBODY UNDERSTANDS ME".

If you're really interested in a good videogame about relationships i'd suggest you to grab the aforementioned console game "Catherine" for 360 or PS3, as it does a very similar thing with quadrillion times better execution.

Guys, how's Darkest Dungeon at this point? Is it worth 10 euros? Steam says "Very positive" but the first dozen reviews are all negative.

Whoa, found Rainbow Six Siege for 30 euros retail.

I have to agree with Salsa, bloody get Rocket League, do damned fun! Even though I suck at it but the joy of an accidental goal that looks like you know what you are doing is amazing.

The barcode is actually Agent 47's tattoo. How that is relevant I dont know.

Yeah, I was just joking. There must be something going on, as it would explain why they're revealing a card on each day instead of all at once. Those cards might have clues in them (when viewed in full) once revealed. Wouldn't surprise if even backgrounds/emoticons themselves you craft from those cards has clues. Some people have been reporting backgrounds are all "blurry", but those are probably revealed as time goes on.
