I do agree that Bernie would also win the general election in the unlikely event he wins the primary.

On topic: does anyone expect that this ad would cause any Hispanic voters to switch to the GOP in the election? I mean will this be actually damaging?

Not as long as Trump is the face of the Republicans.

First of all terrible. Second of all from her website a leading campaign slogan seems to be shes a Grandmother? Again maybe I'm too distant from US politics but Americans don't strike me as the sort whod respond particularly strongly to the idea of a leader who is there to mother them? Quite a bizzare sight.

The fuck where they thinking?
The website seems like parody.

American politics man, always right for some good old banter lol.

Well, they previously tried adopting a meme to try to connect to people and that didn't work either

I'm still surprised that it's an official shirt.

One of the cringiest things I've seen all year.

I pray to God, when I'm way older that I never have a job that shows how out of touch I am.

I don't think the polls are accurate for Trump but Hilary's in trouble if Bush, Rubio or Cruz gets the nomination. Her campaign tactics for the primaries are absolutely horrible and it might not be any better for the elections.

Please do not let me serve on a jury. I am actually a crazy person.
This is like the hispanic version of "Hey hey fellow kids"

No. This was dumb, but not harmful regardless of internet overreaction.

Is Hillary even a human being at all? Everything about her seems constructed or measured.

She spent 20+ years fighting for women's rights and better healthcare, against an 'at the time' unprecedented barrage of hatred and unreasoning bile from the right wing.

Political threads these days make me feel really old. It's bad enough folks don't remember the 90s, but the fact many people don't even remember 2008 makes me want a rocking chair and a cane. Heck, people dontevenseemto remember 2012 - now*there* was a manufactured candidate. Etch a sketch anyone?

I'm old enough to remember her husband was the "first black president." I guess she's trying something similar.

It will be forgotten in a week by something else that is more outrageous or awkward by another candidate. I can't imagine this would ever do any actual damage, especially since it already plays into the image that Hillary is a bit out of touch and trying really hard to be likable. This is barely getting any play from the TV news outlets, so it's a non factor.

Her campaign should have just put up a list of her favorite things about being a grandma, in English and Spanish.

I'll never forget my Hispanic grandmother laughing at the concept of all citizens having access to healthcare, gleefully further entrenching a broken, immoral system. Those are unforgettable memories. Also loved when she'd bring the dot com bubble guy.

well Hillary screwed up healthcare reform in the 90s so not a bad comparison there

blame the woman when the most powerful man in the world cheats huh

I blame her for sticking by that monster

I'll say this, it really makes you think about how good the campaign for Obama was in 2008! Anyone remember the obama girl? That was all over youtube.

She is not like my abuela or like anyones abuela for that matter. If your abuela was as rich as Hillary Clinton you would not be voting for Hillary Clinton. Boom.

I get that she and her team wants to pander to minorities and women, because that is the entire gimmick and ticket of her campaign.

Her strategy regarding this should just to be quite and let the leftist media portray the republican candidate as a "bigit'". Unless Carson, Fiorina or Rubio are picked, then they are fucked.

Even if this would have been a tasteful comparison done well, would the average person vote his or her grandmother as president?

I've switched from thinking that Trump is a Clinton mole to ruin the GOP to thinking that Trump is a Clinton mole to make Clinton seem like a good candidate.

HIllary is really a lifeless, unfeeling robot, right.

What are the chances of Bernie Sanders actually getting the nom?

Unfortunately small.

...

The dumbest part about this is that we know that "hispandering" makes you look like an idiot instead of someone who is relatable to the hispanic demographic and this is perhaps the stupidest example I can think of.

Hillary doesn't fucking speak spanish, she probably didn't know what an abuela was before this, and I wonder if she was even given final approval of this idiocy.

Actually, I can't decide what's dumber, Hillary trying to come across like my abuelita or the myopic hispandering. How out of touch do you have to be? My grandma was nothing at all like this cold and calculating political killer.

Next thing to come out from her site:

24 Things Hillary doesn't have in common with a soulless automaton (I couldn't believe #16!).
