Jumping on the Rogue Legacy hate train - the progression system is terrible. It advertises itself as a "roguelike" but it's nothing of the sort.

Wouldn't say garbage but it's definitely overrated.

A lot of the design just seemed like this game was meant to be f2p with iap but they put it on steam for full price instead and forgot to take out the grind.

See, that might just be franchise fatigue on your end. I haven't played a Tales game since Symphonia and I'm loving every minute spent with the game so far, roughly 20 hours in.

I already own Arx Fatalis on disc, the only reason I was getting it on Steam was because I thought it would run much easier on new systems. Apparently, not so. I'll just go grab this great update instead, very many thanks to you for pointing this out.

I might need to get Ori just for voting purposes.

I've adored Axiom Verge so far. Nabs saying it's better than that has some weight.

Unlike, say, Ozzie calling Rogue Legacy a hot garbage turd or whatever, which does not.
 
Isn't there a Definitive Edition coming out for Ori and the Blind Forest next year?
Might be a good idea to wait.

Reading all the love that game gets makes it hard not to buy, though. :P

I just tried out Mobile Light Force and even though I knew that it's a bad old port going in, I was still kind of shocked to find myself playing an arcade shmup with CD loading times (the game even freezes for a split second when it needs to load the boss sprite!) and that really janky old method they used to use to try and squeeze a vertical arcade shmup onto a 4:3 TV (where you can scroll a little bit up and down as you move while the stage scrolls by itself at the same time).

But so is Axiom Verge, so we're back to square one!

I think it's safe to say that you just cannot go wrong with either if you enjoy the genre.

Don't worry about that, those reviews are about a build that the devs have backtracked on, game's fine now and that's a good price for it. (Lowest too from what I remember)
 
My GF got me a £20 steam gift card and so far I've bought undertale and dark souls 2.

I played and completed dark souls 2 on the PS3. I'm looking forward to seeing what it looks like on PC. Undertale also looks really interesting.

So I have a fiver left... Not sure what to get :-D

What time zone does Steam uses its days in? I woke up after the sales started yesterday at local 7PM and wanted to get a new set of three cards for the day, but apparently it's still "today" according to Steam.
