I'm thinking of getting Black Mesa and The Long Dark. I never played the original Half-Life but completed all of Half-Life 2 and its episodes in one go. I love survival/crafting games, so The Long Dark have long been on my radar.

I'd argue Downwell is this year's arcadey hit like One Finger and Pac Man. It's also super cheap like One Finger.
Agreed. Very definition of a hidden gem.

Should I wait for the Android version? I feel like that would be a good game for on the go.
No. I can't fathom Hard Mode being enjoyable with touch controls.

Downwell? It totally looks untifun, frustratingly hard game, I know many people find those games fun, but that's certainly not pure fun arcadey game type I'm talking about.
You're imagining this so-called hardcore difficulty. It has brisk pacing if you wish to make the most out of all underlying mechanics, which in itself isn't even mandatory for success, but you're vastly overestimating how punishing it supposedly is.

They're adding the system before the game is even out of Early Access. You don't see the problem with implementing the system before the rest of the perks, more maps, and balance changes are in?
Except they did just that (adding more content) shortly after the launch of the cosmetics.

Generally not a fan of this sort of drop system in any game, but people are really overblowing this for Killing Floor 2.

Using EnhancedSteam and good god - really depressing sale. Almost nothing is the cheapest it has ever been. I wanted to buy Battle Block Theatre but it was cheaper in June so f that - I can't buy something if it has ever been cheaper. Will wait until it's at least within 50 cents of the cheapest price.

There are a lot of cool experiences that I'm holding off of because of the inevitable VR remake.

oh hey been a bit since I visited 7extonly's profi..

Invisible.Inc seems cool. I think the Tutorial ain't the best for how complex the game seems to get as I go. There's a tiny bit I still don't quite understand how it works

Redux it is then. I meet the 64-bit and 6GB RAM requirement, so I should be good.

Beware your graphics card making noise as if it was dying. For some reason it goes real heavy with the fans and i've seen other people on GAF commenting the same

I mean it aint an issue but after playing for a while it does feel a bit weird/risky

Er okay. I hope it really doesn't cause issues heh.

Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition (might end up buying BG2 as well..)
Leo's Fortune
Arx Fatalis
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Batman: Arkham Origins
Star Wars: KOTOR

and at GreenManGaming:
Shadow of Mordor GOTY
Witcher 3

why am i buying so much

Anyone played The vanishing of Ethan carter? Only $6 and I think it's a bit of a graphical showpiece.
As if it hasn't been said enough. But yes. For me, it's one of my favorite games of all time. There is nothing groundbreaking about it, just, something clicked with it for me. I play it through like every six months. I just love the sound, the visuals, the story, the commentary. It just feels mysterious the whole time.

Do you know much about performance? Possible to get 4k @ 30fps on a 970?

I've seen some people complain about stuttering, but it's infrequent. I don't know about 4k 30fps (not saying it's impossible, I just genuinely am not sure), but you could definitely get 1080p60fps.

It's okay, you didn't buy 100+ titles in a single day like someone.
lashman pls.

Wait until you see how much I buy. :P

Probably won't be for a few days.

Gaf, please recommend a good space game for a beginner. Not Xwing vs Tiefighter, etc as I already have those. And nothing as complex as Eve.

Final price of the sale, and I would recommend it.

Saying why is a bit hard, but I'll try a small swing at it. SOMA's two strongest elements are its narrative and atmopshere. The story has a lot of layers to it but ultimately deals with a very interesting yet simple question that it sort of runs with through the whole game; it doesn't really have a lot of plot twist, it delves deeper and deeper into its themes as you descend deeper into the ocean.

Being a Frictional game, there's a lot of things to interact with in the environment and fiddle around with. And deep in the sea, there are strange monstrosities you have to evade and survive. You spend little time getting chased but there's some stand-out encounters and a surprising variety among the game's monsters, in both what they are and how they behave, wven though the encounters are infrequent.

Game will make you think a lot, put you on edge at times, and there's some moments unlike anything else you'll experience in a game in this day and age. Without spoiling too much, one of the moments closer to the end of the game where you go to deep sea during an ocean storm and the following segments will last with me for a long time.

So, it's a game about exploring and understanding an environment, which provides the foundation to support a narrative about exploring and understanding a philosophy of sentience. It's a horror video game much less than it is a horror science fiction story.

Welp, you both sold me pretty easily haha. Buying it tomorrow when I get paid! Thanks :)

Final Fantasy VI without the bilinear filter on the characters looks pretty damn amazing.

I honestly don't know what Square Enix was thinking.

Alright, it looks a lot nicer, but surely the character sprites are from a different game. Just look at those abominations.

I think it's the dark outline around them that makes them so downright unnatural compared to everything else.
