Steam Holiday Seal 2015 |OT| This isn't the account you're looking for

Ran into an irritating issue and was wondering if anyone has any ideas how to get around it.

My missus has an older pc which is practically on life support, she loves RPG's and has been wanting Divinity: Original Sin for a while now. I saw its on sale on Steam so bought it for her as a christmas gift and seeing shes at work and I'm off I'd download it and set it all up for her so she can get on and play over the holidays... Except the damn Enhanced Edition has upped the requirements to a DX11 GPU and hers is only an older 9600GT.

The original release is supposed to run well on older hardware, one of the reasons I bought the game for her but it seems you can't get the original release anymore.

So here's my questions:

- Does anyone know if theres a way to download the original release through steam or somehow downgrade the Enhanced Edition to it ?

- If no to the above, are there any other workarounds that anyone might know ?

- If no to both of the above, is it possible to get a Steam refund on a gift and how would it work ? Would I have to apply for a refund through her steam account or mine ?

Sorry if I'm posting in the wrong thread but seeing its the sales and the thread is probably quite active, I thought I'd have better luck finding answers here from users who have dealt with all things steam more than I may have.

I'm sorry I can't help you to get the game working but here is some information on the steam refund process:

it seems you will need to initiate a refund through the account that it was gifted to and then do it through your account that you used to purchase it. as long as it has been 14 days since purchase and less than 2 hours game time then you will be fine.

i think the enhanced edition is a separate game so she should have them both in her library?

Checked her library but theres only the EE, no sign of the original.

It's only separate if you have the original. Anyone else who was late and only bought the Enhanced edition only has that in their library.

Yea I'm trying to do some googling but it appears that once you buy enhanced edition you're stuck with it with no way to go back/downgrade, perhaps it was stupid of me to assume that it would be an option but I still find it pretty poor support. Are the devs allergic to money or something ? Suppose they didn't have the resources or willpower to support 2 clients.

Thank you very much, I'll do a bit more searching around the web and if it proves fruitless I'll have to request a refund. She'll be a bit gutted but luckily I plan to upgrade her PC in a few months time anyway. I was hoping this could be something to keep her busy untill then.

Played a bit of this, very cool. Rogue-like/tower defence...ish chess game where you select 4 pieces from Rooks, Bishops and Knights and defend your end against an unending swarm of opposition pawns. You can build walls, bombs etc... to help but once too many get past or they take your pieces it's game over. My best strategy so far is one rook, 1 knight and 2 bishops on opposite colours.

The game looks a bit rough and could use some usability upgrades like no way to get back to the main menu and no mouseover prompts, but the Dev seems very serious and listens to the community and is constantly improving the game.

It was in one of the recent Build a Greenlights so check your Groupees!

I redeemed this, thanks! It's the youtuber pack 2... so I can now play as Pewdiepie... I don't know how I feel about this lol.

That's probably my favorite pack to use. Strippin' may have the best jump animation in the game.

So while playing Mad Max I somehow always think "pick up" is on the B button, which is shotgun... so accidents often happen when trying to pick up gas canisters haha.XD I am wondering thought, what game have I picked up that habit, Assassins Creed?

Nothing bought so far. Maybe this time I've learned my lesson and every time I see something that "could be insteresting", I immediately think back to the list of games I have in my backlog.

i ended up buying the witcher 3 expansion but got it refunded. changed my mind and just gonna wait for the second one before going through the game again.

i have £7.19 in my wallet so any suggestions on what i should get? i've seen undertale being mentioned a lot. anything else? i'm looking through the sales but just asking incase there is something i miss/disregard.

I haven't bought anything from this sale .. (yet) even though I'd like to think my game catalogue isn't huge compared to other accounts I've seen. (575 currently)

I either want to work through my backlog or play DOTA 2 as none of the games interests me so far. The only game I'm looking forward to is Hearts of Iron IV for next year.

Yeah, I wouldn't even think about buying any games when HoI IV is just a few months out.

Got Serious Sam 3: BFE Gold and Outland for now. Having tons of fun with Serious Sam. I have missed out on a great shooter.

Also considering to buy Elite Dangerous, but I don't own a flight stick. Is it worth it to play it with keyboard/mouse or even the DualShock 4?

Saw that binary domain thread and as I'm really enjoying Yakuza 5 at the moment, I picked this up.

You did good son.

Apparently the $5 deal for Stasis at GMG is a mistake according to the Dev.

Might want to get in quick.

Bought, thanks.

It's been said over and over again but I'm on episode 3 of Tales from the Borderlands and it's REALLY good.

I started this recently myself and am just about to start episode 3. I figured it wouldn't live up to all the good things I've read about it here but I've been pleasantly surprised so far.

I just completed Murder: Steam says I played literally 21 minutes.
And this by achieving the...hidden ending? I don't even know if it's hidden or what, it's just a couple of repeated screens and that's it.

Very disappointed: art is great, here (and it was in Stranded), but there's no gameplay, but that's ok too, because this was an "interactive short story".

The real problem is, there's not even a story. Really, what's the point of the plot?

The game literally starts, throw you in a...situation? I mean, it's not even a "situation", it's just a fact? And the game ends.

There are free to play titles on Steam much, much better than this (in example, Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist) providing great contents and asking literally zero, when they should deserve some money for what they offer.

Here the developer charges 3€ for this product. It's not that much, but really the game doesn't deserve so much money, because it offers literally NOTHING except four or five good looking screens (a couple are great, the others are just uninteresting).

"There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance."

Well then, seems like Steam ain't wanting my monies. Anyone know of a fix for this issue? I tried removing some games from the list and its still giving me this error.
