4 times a day?

Kylo running around with a green cross saber would be hilarious.

Like is no one gonna sit this man down and tell him how to build a legit lightsaber?

Apparently the saber design dates back to Knights of the Old Republic days.

Biggest issue is he has a cracked crystal, and one crystal isn't enough to focus the power he had running into it.

So I finally saw it. I really liked it.

Who was that old guy at the beginning, was he important? I didn't really get it.

Also when Ren took of his mask. Are you serious. Oh god he's so awful.

No one cares about those children, we didn't know who the hell they were.
The ultimate test wasn't killing children, but killing your family. Blame Lucas lol
I mean, Padme literally died from a broken heart heart, and anakin is the one who did it. And Obi-Wan was his brother. Or do only blood relations count?

He played Lor San Tekka. Nobody knows much about him yet, other than he was part of the Church of the Force (which is explained a little more outside the movie)

In terms of Ren...well that's the point.

Ren Rocked.

And the old guy is just some resistance supporter, I don't think he's that important.

EDIT: What the person above said.

Saw this last night and while it was good overall there were a lot of bad scenes. Poe's 10+ kills in 30 seconds including shooting an individual storm trooper with his X wing was some was some B action movie crap. I thought both Leia and Luke's scenes ever were really weak. There also seemed to be to much fan service. Did they really need to include a bar scene? I liked all the 3 main new characters though and thought they made the movie good despite the other stuff.

Man going into this movie I was so sure Luke had fallen and was Darkside and we'd only see him for last 15mins of movie that this was the big reveal but no. I was so disappointed Luke didn't even have a line of dialogue.

None of the other 6 movies have dialogue at the end. I was only disappointed that he used a helicopter shot which is the least Star Wars camera thing you can do.

Fisher is just magic. Her being back in the spotlight is the gift that keeps on giving. She's a treasure.

I think some people really wish Ren was more like Darth Maul. A cool design whose only purpose is to create a cool fight scene and sell merchandise.

I see a lot of people complain about CGI Snoke, but it's only an hologram

However, has anybody a screen of Snoke's hologram ?
I forget how exactly the CGI was but I'm sure, not that bad

A friend of mine just said that he thinks The Phantom Menace had better story telling, dialogue, and finale than The Force Awakens.

... At least I thought he was a friend of mine. I mean sure, apparently The Phantom Menace can get people laid, but I cannot fathom his thoughts. I guess everyone has opinions but...
... It's The Phantom Menace D=

at least he didn't say Attack of the Clones...

And this is how friendships end.

I'm sure Rey falls to the dark side at the end of VIII but not in the expected way: no sith thing where she gives herself to some master. She kills Kylo and leaves Luke to go kill Snoke, if she doesn't outright kill Luke himself for holding her back. In the later case Luke would probably left himself be killed and come back as a force ghost to help Maz train Finn.

In IX Rey faces Snoke, but Snoke uses this opportunity to make her fall further (tells her he can bring her family back to life?). Finn shows up to stop Snoke and save Rey, but now Rey as become Snoke's protector and they fight. Finn saves her, they kill Snoke.

It's basically how in the OT Obi and Yoda said Leia was their last hope if Luke fell, but Luke didn't. Here Finn is the backup plan for Luke and Maz.

Its on par with Maz. However the problem is that you can still tell its CGI because we still haven't gotten skin 100% right yet. Both of them look just a little too glossy at times

People actually think the Snope CGI was bad?? I can understand wishing it was an actor with makeup but it was high quality computer generated graphics.

So basically a 3 movie set up so that the man can be the one to truly save the strong woman? No thanks.

I think Ren turning to the light is still possible. Sure, he killed his father, but his mother is still alive. She can very likely reach him through the force.

Do you guys think Harrison Ford will reprise his role in VIII for flashback scenes?

So was Kylo banging on his chest where he got shot by Chewie at the end? He did it twice and all I could figure is he was hitting his wound to use the pain for power.

So, the flashback that Rey has...

1. Shot of long hallway collapsing. Jedi Temple? Luke?

2. Luke touching R2...map to his location?

3. Ren murdering a villager

4. Rey being dragged back by someone as a child while she watches a ship fly away...probably her parents (who dragged her back?...and likely raised her?...maybe the old guy at the start of the movie?)

5. Ren coming at her with a sword

We don't actually know who raised her. I hope we're not to assume that she just "raised herself" as a kid and grew up an orphan the entire time.

Also Rey doesn't even have a strong motivation to be a jedi, let alone go fight Kylo and Snoke. Definitely something she will get in VIII, and her family is probably the most likely point that would give her one. Han having been killed isn't enough of one, right now she's just supposed to bring Luke back to the resistance.

In his big speech Hux mentions that the Republic is covertly funding the Resistance to fight the First Order, and that this is a primary motivation for the Starkiller attack. I think the implication here is that the Republic is more or less using the Resistance to do their dirty work so they don't have to formally declare war.

I missed that one, but I've 'only' had one viewing thus far. I'm hoping to see again this weekend to catch all the little details...

Tell your friend he's breaking your heart.

Pretty sure this is the hallway from Cloud City in which Luke and Vader fought, in Empire.

2. Luke touching R2...map to his location?

Not sure about the touching R2, but it looks like Luke is facing a fire. Burning the bodies of those killed by the Knights of Ren after Kylo went dark?

4. Rey being dragged back by someone as a child while she watches a ship fly away...probably her parents (who dragged her back?...and likely raised her?...maybe the old guy at the start of the movie?)

If you look and listen closely, you can tell it's actually the hand/voice of the junk dealer handing out food portions toward the beginning of the film.

Complaining about CGI is a cool thing to do these days. It was perfectly fine here.

I didn't think so. I thought it looked a little off, and not in the way it was trying to sell. It was a little disengaging for me, as were the Rathtars. I think the problem isn't just that it's CGI, but that the post-production was very accelerated and compressed.

I guess what I'm saying is that I don't have a major problem with how the effects work in the scenes as they are now, but I also wouldn't mind if they continued post-production work and made improvements for the home video release.

I think her chemistry with Han Solo and the Star Destroyer attack were suppose to create that motivation, but you are not wrong

I liked the performance but the character is to much of a mary sue, she can do everything, she is literary to good at everything to a point you don't feel she is struggling.

This coming from a writing perspective, has nothing to do with gender.
