Wow, Dishonored is such a long game. I thought I finished the story and then bam! Just keeps on going. Not that I mind since I love it. Best first-person stealth I've ever played.

And it looks so good.

It's actually one of the fpses I've finished and didn't feel very long

Bioshock tho...

Merry Christmas SteamGAF :) you guys are one of my favorite communities here at GAF, even if I mostly just participate in the sales threads. Hope you guys have a great xmas.

The Evil Within bundle I wouod vouch for, TEW is a very love it/hate it game, and the game changes tones multiple times. While not the best judgement, there is a demo of the first three chapters on Steam that will save your progress if you buy it, if you are getting into it by chapter 3 (since the first two chapters are the game sort of starting up) then I would say get into it. The DLC is also different, but worth it I think. Two part side story DLC with new locations/enemies/gameplay things, but its stealth focused. Both parts together are around 5-8 hours of gameplay. Then a 1-2 hour first person arcade type DLC with a story and a lot of pretty fun boss fights. As an addition, I thought the DLC's story was better than the base games.

Resident Evil 4 may be worth getting for the upcoming HD Texture mod: http://neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=757346

RE5 if you have someone to play with and feel like replaying, and if you do I recommend the DLC. It includes two new chapters, Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Struggle, which are the best part of RE5 in my opinion.

RE6 I wasn't feeling when I first got it, but it has grown on me so much. PC is also by far the best version of the game, the solid 60fps adds a LOT to the combat, game has a ton of mods, and the PC version has by far the best version of Mercenaries, arguably one of the best parts of RE6. It has exclusive to it No Mercy for one thing, which is a blast in RE6 with a shit ton of enemies. No Mercy includes Left 4 Dead 2 characters to play as, and the option to turn on L4D2 enemies Witch and Tank. Also included all the DLC mercs maps on consoles in the game itself at no extra cost. RE6 has a learning curve to it, the game doesn't explain shit to you, but it has very in-depth and fun combat mechanics. Game has an uneven quality canpaign though. Some stand-out and fun parts, but other parts are bad and drag. It's a mixed-bag.

Not on sale on Steam, but I heard was on sale on Uplay(?) or something and redeemed on Steam, but remember that Resident Evil Remake is available on Steam.

Also, I and others on GAF also quite liked Resident Evil Revelations 2. It gets better with each episode and worth checking out.

If on a RE kick for the action styles, also remember Dead Space 1 and 2 are on Steam, and for a B-fare kind of game like it, there's also Cold Fear and Dark Sector.

Thank you so much for this! Downloaded The Evil Within demo, gonna give it a try.

Because I convinced my brother today on the hand-me-down laptop I gave him, I have to say go play Dark Souls folks. All eight of you people that don't have it.

Absolutely. If you had any interest or enjoyment from Titan's quest, path of exile or diablo 2, then it's worth a play. I love loot happy action rpgs and this is a really good one.
Seems like it is my kinda game. I enjoyed Titan's quest and diablo 2 very much.

I shouldn't have stopped idling when Styx came out.

I was actually a stone's throw from using up my remaining drops at the time, but after completing Styx, I just sort of forgot to get back to it.

I hadn't played Titan Quest yet but heard good things about it ^^;
Guess I'll get Grim Dawn then, let's see how much it goes for.

Do you like Diablo clones? It's the best of those around, at least from what I played in early access

Ugh...I'm so torn between Conquest of Elysium 4 and Dominions 4. I just can't decide which one I want more

CoE 4 is the better choice for single player and has more intimate roguelike-esque map exploration gameplay.
Dominions is just this insane sprawling 4X with crazy scale and scope. Plus the battles look cooler in 3D and you have more control over stuff like how spells are cast

CoE is probably the better choice since it's shorter and better for solo, but man, when every review and article says Dominions is one of the deepest and one of the best strategy games ever and the stories are always just jaw-dropping in their complexity and depth and chaos....it's really hard to decide between the two

Holy crap Warhammer: Vermintide is a pretty legit game! It's like Left 4 dead with loot you can upgrade. All the classes feel really unique as well, enjoying the dialogue while I'm swinging my two handed hammer lol.

If anyone is interested in the game, I recommend picking it up from greenmangaming. The game is priced the same as steam however they have a 20% storewide coupon you can use to knock off an extra 5 bucks.

I have the XCOM classic collection in my cart. Is it possible to go back to those games if your only experience with the series is the reboot? I guess it's dirt cheap and all but I don't want it for just the +5 or whatever.

probably not, much less forgiving than new xcom and a brick wall for a barrier of entry

really rewarding if you get through tho, much deeper mechanics than new xcom

It's Christmas
A time of joy and generosity
The season of good deeds and charity
We're inspired by the love and warmth we see
It's easy as 1, 2 ,3...

When it's Christmas
You send a heartfelt smile to someone strange
You give someone in need a little change
Oh it's almost like rehearsed and pre-arranged
And I gotta say...

If it has to be Christmas for you to be nice,
You're an asshole
If you think the season is the reason,
You're a piece of shit
If someone has to dress up as Santa,
Or you won't back a fundraise
Then you're a lowlife fucking twat.

One of the best things to come from Payday 2. If the devs didn't do their recent shenanigans I'd be recommending Payday 2 right now because I really did enjoy my many hours in it.

Merry-fucking-Christmas, everyone

2 Amazing games, 1 pretty good game and 2 stinkers. They will be a shock for someone who has only played the new one and doesn't have that nostalgia.

Maybe check out Xenonauts, it's essentially a modern version of the old X-COM.

The amazing ones are the first two, right? (I have only played them, and if other are even better...)

They are pretty brutal difficulty wise and the graphics weren't goods even when they were new. The Xenonauts suggestion is probably the best one. Or something with the parts you like, there's a bunch of games out now with good tactical combat.

I always get drops within two hours.

There's some discussion that if you're a long-standing member or have never refunded a game, Valve doesn't hit you with the idle time restriction.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/3qicjc/2_hours_for_card_drops_removed_for_some_games/

Yeah my restriction was lifted a while back but it seems pretty random who still has it and who doesn't.
