I mean, people will stop buying games on Steam, right?

Some will, but at most the same amount of people that bought Rise of the Tomb Raider on XBOX.

The game looked like fun on some videos I saw on youtube, but they showed actual tomb raider...raiding, and not action. Is the game that different from the previous one, or is just more of the same?

Hell yeah Tomb Raider! Been thinking about going back to the first one(reboot) and playing through it again before playing the new one.

Not really sale related but is there a DS4Windows equivalent for a Wii U Pro Controller? I picked it up when it went on sale recently and I wouldn't mind at least trying for some PC games as well. Online it seems people suggest getting the Mayflash adapter, is there any reason why it requires a specific BT adapter as compared to the DS4 which seems to work fine with my $5 BT dongle?

Did we ever figure out the new rules for when cards drop? Seems random - some games start after 2 hours, other start right away.

Anyone from Canada, New Zealand or Norway willing to host Rocket League 4 pack? :) (it's slightly cheaper in those regions, would cost around 8,5$ per copy
Or if you're interested in copy, quote and add your name, hopefully we'll find host :)

Short answer: you should be able to with WiinUSoft
Long answer: see my thread on this at http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=975197

Had no idea G-Rev had Steam releases.

Gave some love to the plethora of Japanese releases:
- Strania
- Steel Strider
- Deltazeal
- Mushihimesama

With bonus Downwell

Hmm, not sure if I really want to deal with switching between drivers each time I switch between controllers. I'll keep it in my though, thanks.

It's actually a fairly simple process to switch between drivers, but yeah, it's not as simple as the Mayflash adapter. If it helps, WiinUSoft also works with Wiimote Pluses - I played Rocket League w/ my lady friend with a Wii U Pro Controller and a Wiimote+Nunchuk.

DiRT Rally is the best racing game atm imho.

Agreed - will be somewhere in my top 5 games of 2015.

DiRT Rally leans more on the sim side of things, though, so those looking for a more casual experience might want to look elsewhere. I'm horribly slow, mind you, but even at my speed nailing a clean run is exhilarating.

I'm mostly interested in the novelty of using a Wii U Pro Controller rather than any sort of need, so I'll still probably use that over spending $20+ on an adapter. Honestly, the glossy finish is probably the biggest deterrent for using it as a primary controller. :p

Sooo...I just got into Steam today. Never really tried it before, and I've been a console user for forever. Upon seeing the prices for some of the stuff in this store...let's just say I already have a massive Steam backlog lol

Always check before you buy that they're sold as Steam keys.

OH god. My wallet...

Thanks! :D

https://isthereanydeal.com/ is a good place to check where games are priced cheaper (they do Steam keys as well as Uplay, Origin, etc) so just make sure you check before you buy

also, if you use Chrome you should download the Enhanced Steam extension

I remember asking again for non-BH shooters aside from DariusBurstCS and Jamestown, but forgot to wishlist them. Anyone wanna share?

Welcome! You're among friends, vast Steam libraries are a way of life here. :)

Don't be afraid to ask anything PC-ish in the Steam threads - the monthly Steam threads are something of a de-facto generic PC gaming catch-all, and the collective knowledge of the resident experts is staggering in size and scope. Enjoy your stay, great to have you (and all the other folks new-ish to Steam) on board.

That's fine, still a few games I have my eye on, like Dragon's Dogma. Any idea how long it lasts for?

Also I still need an opinion on BE with rising tide expac

The guys over on eXplorminate did a review of Rising Tide that is particularly insightful for those who have played vanilla Beyond Earth (their review of that is here for added context).

I actually quite like the base game (although I agree with many of their criticisms), but I haven't picked up Rising Tide yet - it looks to go a long way toward plugging some of the holes in the initial release, though.

Tough space to be in at the moment, with Stellaris and Endless Space 2 on the horizon - I think Firaxis will need to really nail the next expansion to stay in the game.

Made a thread about it but I guess it wasn't as notable as I thought, quoting myself

Thought this was thread worthy. Spend 20 bucks, get that game for free, as well as some small indie titled named Bedlam. They are also doing a "mystery game" scratch card that you get with any purchase.

https://www.indiegala.com/store

So if you were for instance, in the market for Dying Light, it's 20 bucks there, and would get you Mordor, Bedlam, and a shot at whatever's in their scratch card game.

According to posts on forums like Reddit, Lords of the Fallen and Life Is Feudal are among the scratch card games, probably a few more.

Notable (to me at least) games that are at good prices:

Dying Light : 20
Cities Skylines: 12
Pillars of Eternity: 18
Vermintide: 25

That's a good deal if you had an eye on any of those games anyway, especially if you have any interest in Mordor.

Yeah I have BE with Rising Tide and just haven't gotten into it much. Too samey to Civ V to really feel fresh, granted I've only played like part of one match and mostly bought them on sale out of principle. I've put more hours into Endless Legend, which I highly recommend (get the DLC too!)

But as far as space strategy,

Stellaris and Endless Space 2 both seem to be shaping up excellently and will probably be better experiences than Beyond Earth. Looking forward to them. Still haven't bought Gal Civ 3, but I've seen somewhat mixed reactions on that one - dunno if it really will fit what I'm looking for vs. the two upcoming titles.

Hmh wonder what the chances are that Nuclear Throne will actually go on sale. Feels like the wisdom of "wait for the daily or last day" still stands with games popping into the sale.

Vlambeer tweeted they aren't participating when it comes to Nuclear Throne.

Aah alright, still trying to figure what to get with my last 12 euros and Nuclear Throne is high on the list. Need a good rogue-lite kind of game to play while listening to podcasts and giant bombs GOTY podcasts are coming soon.

This doesn't hurt me or anything, since I'm playing vanilla Beyond Earth before touching Rising Tide to see the difference, but, don't you think your conclusion that Endless Space 2 and Stellaris is a bit premature considering you only played part of one match? Try it first.
