ModBot Basics:
- I really appreciate thank you messages, but please send them to me (Stuggernaut, not ModBot!) via PM instead of in thread.
- Do not trade keys you win off-site to enrich yourself. Don't try to claim games you have no interest in collecting or playing. Don't claim games to give them to friends off-site.
- If the key is already taken you will not receive a reply. Replies may take a minute or two.

Rules for this Giveaway:
- If you are a lurker you are not eligible for this giveaway. You need five or more posts in either the current Steam thread or the previous one to be eligible

Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition -- MB-EA9959095EC74823 - Taken by TWILT

They're terrible. It's like save 10 percent if you buy 4 games type stuff. Barely worth it unless you happen to want a shitload of each category.

I wouldn't say they are terrible, such an extra discount on newish games already discounted would be great, but yeah, these are only good for new to steam people, pretty much useless for us, because we have most games offered.

I'm think about getting a Steam controller and I'll be getting it through Amazon because of that, at least be able to give them away as I already have them, Valve getting cheap with it.

Hey.. Wanted to ask..
Is it better to sell the steam trading cards?
Or use them to craft items?

It depends if you want to level up your profile to get more friend slots and showcase things for your profile, otherwise just sell them.

Two more, real quick...

Anyone else having trouble logging into steam from a new computer? I'm not getting the authorization email, checked all my folders.

Also any good multiplayer game recommendations? Me and brother were looking into Who's Your Daddy and Gang Beasts but iffy about them since they're still in development.

Steam emails seem to be down across the board. I never got my trade confirmation email from about 5 hours ago.

The cards don't get " consumed " when you craft the badge?

Yes. If you don't care about seeing a number go up on your steam profile, just sell the cards. I'd rather have the money for more games than some e-peen measuring stick.

There are a bunch of videos for Gang Beasts over on Giant Bomb and if you're a premium member the game is frequently played on their Unprofessional Friday Show. It looks a blast and i have it but i've not played it yet.

Oh? What's the immersion killer? I loved the look of this game and was hoping to fit it into my current game rotation soonish but maybe it can wait.

I imagine he is talking about the game being a bit chattier than expected.

Not really, what I didn't like about it is that it tries to be funny more often than I'd like, and I don't think that fits well with this game. I mean if it was your typical comedy adventure game I wouldn't mind it, but here as soon as I'd start getting into the atmosphere some silly joke would pull me out of the immersion. The voice acting was also really strange IMO, everything you hear at first are pre-recorded messages but for whatever reason some of them are really slow and weird, no one would record a message that has to be played thousands of times like that.

I don't know, the main thing I was looking for in this game was the atmosphere and I didn't like it. Not saying it's a bad game, just not what I was looking for.

Okay, so during this sale for instance, I saved the required cards (and or traded for the ones needed) to craft the badge. Those cards are used up in the crafting, but I keep 'playing'/going through my queue to earn cards and then sell those cards.

And if you just mean game cards, sell them.

is anyone able to purchase off of steam? I bought some steam cards and want to add money to make purchases. However I don't want to use the money if I can't access the games. I read earlier people were having trouble installing/accessing their purchases.

Wow, nice. Thanks!

I'm not expecting much out of it, but at ~$5 I can't complain too much. Does anyone have any opinions on the DLC? Between IndieGala and Steam, it looks like you can get the lot of it for around $4 -- worth it?

Steam reviews indicate it to be very short and ultimately not worth it.

Lords of the Fallen is worth it if you're a fan of the souls games. It's nowhere near as balanced but still provides a fun few hours IMO.

When I played it through a few months back, the only real janky thing about it was the dialogue and some of the secondary systems.

I see what you mean (although I haven't played it yet). It's biggest selling point for me was definitely the atmosphere, I imagined it like a point and click version of the movie alien. I do however know that imagination will generally always get the better of me.

Eyeing Nuclear Throne but steam has made it so I can't pay full price for a game, they should raise it then lower it to normal price so I don't feel so bad

I really want to buy more games this holiday sale, but I'm still busy with a certain game currently, and I know I'll still be busy next month up until February with Dragons Dogma and Tomb Raider around the corner. I'm aiming for Grim Dawn and Darkest Dungeon, but I won't be able to play them until February or March, and I'm afraid I won't get a better deal later. Both are still in early access and highly possible to get a price bump on release day. Decisions.
