Why does Activision suck so badly at sale pricing?

Activision: I can pick up a used copy of Modern Warfare 3 on 360/PS3 for $5 Canadian at EB Games. You are not protecting the value of your games by listing a 4 year old game for $20 on sale.

Also. I am pretty sure that Fall of Cybertron would be doing better than 175k sales in 3 years if you dropped the damn MSRP. It's not Minecraft.

Sad to hear the FFXIII pc ports run bad.

What's the story behind the model being so low-poly? The general asset quality in these games seem to be much better than this.

I kind of want long dark. Is it going to be in early access for much longee? I tend to avoid early access if at all possible but it has so many favorable reviews.

Question for you guys: How is the PC version of GTAV?

Is it stable? Can I play it for hours without crashing to desktop?

Are there graphical issues? Stuttering? Am I going to have to fiddle with shit to get it working properly?

I'm considering upgrading from my PS4 copy and would like some opinions. Specs should not be a problem (i7, 970, 16GB RAM). Thanks.

Ys Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin if you haven't played them yet.

Not exactly like the stuff you mentioned, but incredible action RPGs with some of the best boss fights and music you're gonna find in the genre.

I'm sitting here wondering what the hell Way of the Samurai 4 is and even with no fucking clue I still kinda wanna buy it. Looks insane from the screenshots.

Street Fighter IV is on sale for $10. Don't know if that's what your looking for though.

Resident evil games, lost planet, bulletstorm (but it's an fps)

Thanks guys. Really appreciate it.

What resolution are you playing at. Kind of curious about the answers you'll get as I thought about picking this up too.

I had zero issues with the game. Performance was great, plenty of options, and did not run into any crashes.

a 970 should crush the PS4 version with ease.

I played it on release so I'm not sure if patches have negatively impacted the performance, but I played it on release with a similar rig to yours, (weaker GPU though) and didn't have any problems at all. Don't remember it crashing much if at all, definitely didn't have to do any .ini tweaking or such.

edit: late to the party

It runs really well on my PC which is weaker than yours, so you should be fine.

I just bought GTAV recently and I would say it isn't optimised well at all. There are random frame rate drops that don't make any sense. I'm playing the game at settings lower than should be necessary simply because looking at Franklin's house makes my frame rate tank. The frame rate is still inconsistent now and I know it's not the hardware because other people experience this. Apparently Alt+Tab helps so I need to try that out. There is also this weird stutter on any cut scene that I don't know how to fix.

Basically I'm not that happy with it. I feel like I'm playing at PS4 graphics at 60 fps (with constant drops) even though I have a i5 6600k + GTX 970 which gets me a lot better relative performance on The Witcher 3 for example.

Transistor PC/PS4+IOS sales split: 80/20

(according to data from this thread)

That's impressive, one of my favorite games from last year.

The random dips might be your 970 hitting the VRAM barrier.

Wow digital still really doesn't sell at all on consoles, does it? Have to think they are disappointed with the PS4 numbers. It wasn't as great a game as I had hoped for, but still very solid and looking forward to whatever they do next.

Consensus on Grim Dawn from a LOOT perspective?

I've only played a few hours (well, 6) and it's pretty great from a loot perspective. I think the game excels pretty well in that it gives you a quick "at a glance" stat difference even for items you haven't picked up. It makes the usual problem of wading through a bunch of junk pretty manageable. There also isn't too much of the "fill up your inventory, go to town, sell it, repeat" cycle the games like this tend to fall into, unless of course that's what you want to do in which case nothing is stopping you.

I'm having a good time with it. I wish the achievements were achievable though.

Guys there is really no reason not to buy the new King's Quest Episode 1 at $0.99 and then fall in love with it and want to buy every episode as it comes out as well. Seriously, that game is so absolutely wonderful and its a literal steal at that price, you can tell Activision is just like "look we know people will absolutely love this game if they just try it, fuck it sell it for a dollar just get it in front of them!"

For the first game the assets were great, by Lightning Returns they didn't seem to have quite as large a budget and any assets that weren't reused from previous games could be pretty bad.

Just read over on reddit that if you buy the first episode it locks you out from getting the epilogue which can only be bought through the complete collection.

How does the second episode stack up to the first? I really enjoyed that one.

Well if you do then you can't get the epilogue chapter without buying the collection outright

EDIT: oh, been posted :P

That happens to everyone with GTAV PC, it seems the cutscenes are locked that way or something. It sucks Rockstar won't fix it but you're not the only one with that.

I have a 970 and I'm not getting too many weird stutters though, even when looking at Franklin's house. Weird.

So I got AC Rogue and Syndicate instead of Unity. Better choice? Always heard Unity wasn't that strong and that Rogue was just fine.

Yeah, that's what we could do. But that's .99c we could have spent on something else to start with, then.

Yeah, it's an incredibly odd move by the publisher (or whomever makes those decisions) if they are really set on not including it in the season pass they could at least add it as dlc for those interested.
