I have 4 problems with Geometry Wars 3:
1. It's too fast... yeah, I know
2. everything is too small, 90% of the time I don't even see what kills me as a ship is too small to see and all clutter on the screen makes it even harder to follow
3. WASD totally doesn't work, I don't feel it, it's too floaty and lax, these kind of controls could work for mouse, considering speed, WASD not so much.
4. I shut git gud? too lazy for that.

Seems like the type of game I'll love and it has numerous glowing recommendations.

Oh gosh. I just clicked on that thread...You made me go back to that thread. Let's not mention this again.
Bunch of people coming in complaining how Transistor was exclusive to PS4, how they didn't want to throw down $400 just for an indie game, Sony's marketing got to them.
I help a few people by pointing them to the PC version's mere existence, this happens.
You know when people are saying how much of a transformative experience Transistor will be through the DS4's speaker you have a problem.

So, I didn't even realize this was on Steam yet for some reason, but it has a stupidly good sale so I need to point it out.
Amnesia: Memories - $2.99 (90% off)
All I know is this game has an anime, and everyone said the visual novel is really good and to play that instead of watching the anime since it was leagues better and worth the time to find, and now I found it was released on Steam recently and has a huge discount right now. Just thought I might bring up for some who are interested, I don't know how good/bad it is, I just know people said it was really good and the anime was a bad adaption of a good visual novel.

Didn't most people say it wasn't good? Like, all the male heroes are assholes?
Edit: Well, it has a pretty good rating on Steam. So I guess the story is good, even if the guys are jerks.

Problem until now was that like some other indie games it had problems with the X1 pad on Win10 but there's now a beta that fixes this.
Only -35% and not everyone like drifting but if you do this is a must have, clean, cool visuals, good controls that reward practice and one of the best soundtracks of the year.

I wouldn't know since I haven't played it or seen the anime, I just know that's what friends and random people online said when the anime was airing, and noticed it was not only on Steam but 90% off. Though some girls do like assholes.

Amnesia is pretty scary at times, it's not really a horror game but it has its moments.

until someone in this thread was so adamant about why this game is bad or horrible, don't remember which, I haven't really looked at it this way, but it is a weird story and can be disturbing at times for more sensitive people. Still, as most of us here are old cynics, I recommend to buy it and play, it's so incredibly cheap, that even if you won't like it, no harm will be done.
Although... me playing GW3 is kinda scarier and I barely can see it at all, it's still terrifying.

yeah. this looks really great, shame it isnt more heavily discounted since I already blew through savings but I got my eye on it
If it were up to me I'd force all the "x publication/random guys GOTY list" into a single thread to at least contain the pointless bickering to one location.
There is still plenty of time unless you have to play long rpgs or something. SteamGAF vote isn't until like mid-end January iirc. Only a few games this year have been very long. Majority of the contenders are fairly short like <12 hours.

Damn. Satellite reign is legit. It's so much like the old school syndicate that I loved when I was a kid.
This may be the best steam sale I've ever had in term of quality games purchased. Dying light, grim dawn, satellite reign. All awesome. I'm getting close to pulling the trigger on sunless sea and maybe Gabriel knight to round it out.
The discounts might not be as deep but there's more great games on steam than ever.
