So is Alien: Isolation one of those games where it's cheaper to buy the game and all of the DLC separately rather than just buying the Alien: Isolation Collection pack? Is the DLC even worth it?

I don't really think the DLC is worth it. It's more or less just mini missions. For example the Nostromo mission takes like 10 minutes to beat. Only reason I can see to get the DLC is if you absolutely must get more of running and hiding from the alien. Since non of it is story related.

After more than 7 years as a Steam user, I finally reached an important milestone today: Someone's trying to scam me, lol.

Reported him :P

Just in case: you probably don't want to try entering that URL

Anyone knows if Steam scammers use accounts they made or do they do like in MMOs and use hacked accounts belonging to innocents?

The base game is already long enough, took me around 25 hours to finish. The DLCs add some alternative game modes but are separate from the main campaign.

So, I had played a few matches in Rocket League on PS3, against bots. It was ok.

But people here kept telling everyone how awesome it was to play, so I thought I would try a few matches online on PC, but it can't be that good, can it?

Four matches later, where I had scored the game winning goals in two of them:

Whoa just realized that I've only bought four games this sale, Cibele, Undertale, Mad Max and Nuclear Throne... feels just so damn little.O_o

All sales are active, though certain big publishers are not. Ubisoft, is for instance, doing daily deals, even if doesn't call them that. See Zombi on the front page, Asscreed series before that, South Park before that. So Ubisoft games you should wait till they are featured on the front page or the last day.

Though it seems largely to just be games with no discount affected. If it has a discount, it's likely staying that way.

So they are, interesting. I had given up on an Anno 2025 sale but I'll be on the lookout now.

Once you have over triple digit Steam games, do you really need to buy anything during sales periods?

True, I have enough games for the whole of next year, but for so many years I've gone all in during the winter sale. I think I might have gotten more games in a steady fashion during the year instead.

I've only played a few hours (well, 6) and it's pretty great from a loot perspective. I think the game excels pretty well in that it gives you a quick "at a glance" stat difference even for items you haven't picked up. It makes the usual problem of wading through a bunch of junk pretty manageable. There also isn't too much of the "fill up your inventory, go to town, sell it, repeat" cycle the games like this tend to fall into, unless of course that's what you want to do in which case nothing is stopping you.

I'm having a good time with it. I wish the achievements were achievable though.

Thank you so much for the response. Sounds great to me.

Quick question: X-Wing/Tie Fighter games.

Buy on Steam or GoG? Wasn't there something about GoG having the talkie CD version but not Steam?(or something similar?) I sort of recall there being an issue with the versions available on each store, but can't recall which and I want to buy. Help!!!

Nothing like a buzz beater to get the gears moving. The game is so counter productive sometimes for the right reasons.

So many indiegames to choose from it's maddening.

What are some must haves in this genre?

Like, from all ever released? That would be quite a list if you ask me.

Some of my favorites:
The Binding of Isaac / Rebirth - A Roguelike Shmup

I'd add that the GOG version actually works for me but the Steam version keeps crashing as well as having it's display resolution all screwed up and displaying two mouse cursors. I have both installed on the same system and only the GOG one is actually playable for whatever reason
GOG has a better configuration for the DOS version and supports all three platforms. It also includes the best version of the game, the DOS Collectors' Edition from 1995, along with the regular DOS and Windows versions from 1994 and 1998.

Go to GOG for old games. Steam is usually a copy-paste job with missing audio and awful incompatibility, GOG does the heavy lifting themselves to make a game work

Yeah, I missed it when reading the description myself since they mentioned having both the DOS floppy and Windows CD versions, but if Steam doesn't have the DOS CD edition, which is regarded as the best one, then GOG would be the way to go.

Small correction, Grimrock isn't turn based. Grid based, but your actions and enemy ones are only limited by your reactions and any cooldowns they might have.

Steam doesn't send neither emails with authentification codes for different browsers nor emails with tarde confirmation. It doesn't even allow choosing an item for direct trade. Servers are messed up since almost 3 days now.

it's kinda hard to not restart Undertale after finding out the type of game it is and realizing I would have done some stuff differently but I wanted to go in completely blind

like, really hard

but i'll push through for the sake of not being just a black or white decisions guy

tho I did some really bad shit mannnnn

anyway, skeleton date was fun

Corrected. Seems you can forget quite a few things over the years. I should play the second one at some point.

december 29:

I'm still playing bioshock, the game that never seems to end, just how many big daddies and how many hacking game I have to go through?

I swear I'm at the end but I'm also not so sure of it.

Seriously though I felt the game dragged out and felt way longer than how long it actually was. That's why I didn't really give 2 a fair try and Infinite not at all yet

I beat Shadowrun: Hong Kong last night. It was great, pulled me in immediately and held me there for several days. I highly recommend it. It's predecessor is supposed to be equally good, if not better, and is only $3 right now. I clocked about 35 hours.

Today was a good day. I preordered XCOM 2, plus I bought Cities: Skylines and The Talos Principle. Money well spent.
