Support can help you despite that. When you send in a ticket, they'll maybe just get back to you with stuff on how to prove it's your account, if even that. Happened to a family member years ago. Only reason it'll take a little while now is because of the sale and all, on top of Steam already having greaaaat support.
I wouldn't be surprised if something similar was released officially.

Oh well, I've got World of Tanks and Battlefront to keep me company for the time being.
Unless you already bought this version, I'll say that you probably also want Titan Quest: Immortal Throne. (Actually, to refund Titan Quest and to buy Titan Quest Gold instead for $1 more than vanilla TQ itself.) Immortal Throne adds on a bunch of postgame content, new classes, and other nifty things that you probably want. And it's only $1 extra.

It works for me on Windows 10 so I guess there is a fix but I have no idea were I found it or what it is. This isn't much help except in the hope department lol.
Yeah, don't do Nightmare mode. You'll cry from just the prologue, even with a FC save. It's legitimately true nightmare mode and will punish you for the smallest mistakes.

I just wish colored hair looked as natural and cool as it does in anime, its artificiality is very apparent when you see it in the flesh zone.

Currently steam is highlighting some games on sale
In total there are 10,000 games on sale at least on steam
Just look up what game interests u and ascertain that is the cheapeat it's ever been or steam is the cheapest to get said game and buy it.
This is the first winter sale without daily deals, where you'd find the best deals. Sadly, it seems Valve has no intention of going back to that because you can now refund games no questions asked as long as you have less than 2 hours of playtime.
But there are many other great deals on PC outside the steam store. It does require you to get used to it, like lurking these threads would help a lot. A current one would be the Humble Square Enix Bundle 3.
