1. Senki Zesshou Symphogear GX ; A woman gets punched so hard that she reverts into a little girl
twice
. This whole show is such a fun ride even if character development and story cohesion are lacking. Good music, fun villians, the best opening scene of the year, good OP/ED, fun plot twists and a lot of hype battles with high stakes. There is a reason why this is still outselling OPM.

2. Shokugeki no souma; great adaptation and entertaing show.
3. Shimoseka; plain fun and entertaining show
4. Monster strike; the most looked over show of the season the MC is godtier in this show and it makes me wanna buy the Monster strike 3ds games. Also those real life commercial after the end of the episodes are hillarious.
5. Monster musume; tfw no lamia VS mermaid swimming competition episode.
6. Wakako-zake; This show has a lot of something that i like to call "magical realism". It's a really refreshing and comfy show.
7. Hacka doll;
8. JOJO stardust crusaders;
9. Lupin III ; great artstyle and sound direction. Has a lot of disapointing episodes, but the high points more than make up for them.
10. Bikini warriors;
Mage and that final episode are great

Movie/ova
1. LWA2 The enchanting parade;
2. Symphogear gx ova's;
3. Cassete girl;

Boring/disapointing shows
1. Overlord the black swordsman arc; even that new berserk anime has better CGI than this shit.
2. Gangsta; at least manglobe got BTFO of the industry.
3. Owarimonogatari; ougi and sodachi are uninteresting, shinobu arc was solid.
4. Osumatsu-san ; comedy show that wasn't all that funny,
5. Your lie in april second half. Every character was so pretentious and the story lost focus.
At least best girl won the harem
Himouto "NEETS and otaku are so cool" umaru chan

Quoted because for many people in this thread reading is hard.

I just followed the guideline at the very bottom. The first rule is worded weirdly and may have thrown some people off.

But how I read it is numbering your list 1-10 like the following:

1. 10 points
2. 9 points
3. 8 points
4. 7 points

And so on and so forth.

Post brotha, YLIA needs help, lol. I just saw ii, very nice.

Definitely. One of my favorites of all time and is why I put it as number one.

Yeah. Me and an old college roommate hanged out for a weekend and we watched Death Parade and Assassination Classroom together. Was a great weekend.

7. Is It Wrong To Try To Pick Up Girls In A Dungeon?
The MMORPG but it’s totally real setting has now been done entirely to death but a lot of shows keep putting neat spins on it that hasn’t put it in the ground yet: Log Horizon, Overlord and Dungeons. Dungeons doesn’t do anything PARTICULARLY unique or trend setting in this regard but it plays more to the fantasy than the RPG elements, utilizing them instead as a way to frame the world because nobody is trapped in this fantasy land, that’s just…the rules. So it utilizes the numbers game to set its characters in place and create the drama, tension and story from there. Nothing amazingly creative but a perfectly serviceable world set-up.

The rest plays out as mostly just a really good fantasy anime. It still hits some tropes and such (all the girls love Bell, his patron goddess is young looking with a rack for days [I’m so ashamed that I fucking love Hestia]) but what makes this so engaging to watch is the build. From the start you get Bell’s idolization and shame of being saved by Aiz which lends you the standard “I wanna get stronger” that carries with it a subtle, dangerous tinge to it that Hestia picks up on. As each episode goes by it builds more and more on him getting stronger, Hestia’s fear of it and the shame he feels until it comes to a glorious climax in what has to be one of the best fight scenes in an anime this year and probably in many years. Not just from an animated standpoint, because the fights are where almost all the budget went (other than Hestia’s tits) but because it comes from literally EVERYTHING the anime was building up to. His fight with the minotaur is absolutely perfect, an overcoming of his trauma, an emotional catharsis and his last hope to see a future where he can stand by Aiz as an equal. The raw emotion in this scene is a testament to the incredible animation in his fighting style and attacks, his desperation and facial animations and the great voice acting. The fight is also surprisingly violent which besides being a nice change from a lot of fights in mostly shonen-esque fighto anime really drives home the themes for the fight. After the fight I immediately clicked back and watched it again. Probably twice.

What drags the show down and doesn’t let this place higher is that the climactic fight happens in episode 8. While the rest of the episodes aren’t bad, and the ones leading up to them weren’t either since they weren’t just empty episodes promising later pay-offs, they never reach that incredibleness of Episode 8. Much of the tension falls afterwards and it starts playing a little too much into your standard chosen one fantasy fare. Bell also loses a lot of his edge and character afterwards which made him stand out from typical leads. It’s still a fun watch but it’s a jarring difference in quality from such a drastic high. There’s also a lot of fan service that draws it down, lingering on Hestia and awkward poses and whatnot. Also if the rest of the series was garbage it would get on the list at 10 for that minotaur fight scene alone.

Just in case people want to know what the fight of the year was, take a look if you don't plan on watching the series at some point. The music is absolutely amazing and plays to the moment perfectly.

1. Haikyu S2; Haikyu is one of the best anime out there! it makes me smile, it hypes me up and it gives me energy just by watching it!!
2. Fafner Exodus; Fafner is one of the best anime of this year and it's also the most criminally underrated show out there! Everything about it is amazing.
3. Seven deadly sins; One of the last anime I saw this year and one of the best. I love the unique artstyle and every character is soooo great! A must watch.
4. My teen romantic comedy Snafu too; I searched a good while for something similar to hyouka and then I found snafu. The MC has the best monologue ever!!
5. Concrete Revolutio; Another great anime with a very unique art style and a unique way to tell it's story. It may not click with everyone but it did with me! Also it's made by bones so watch it.
6. Seraph of the End battle of Nagoya; Love the characters, love the story, love the visuals/artstyle and the last episode was sooo good.
7. Food wars; Featuring one of the best cast of characters this year with amazing visuals.
8. Blood Blockade Battlefront; Amazing visuals and an awesome story! A must watch!
9. Noragami Aragoto; Although it had a slow star the build up to the end was amazing and it's now better then S1 noragami which was already a masterpiece.
10. Durarara X2; A great follow up to the amazing first season of durarara. I just love all those characters and I can't wait for the third part!

Honorable mentions! Assassition classrom, One punch man, Prison school, Gundam IBO, the heroic legend of Arslan and everything else I forgot.

OH snap I forgot SNAFU! fixing!!! sorry kuroko.

They were so many good show this year! It was so hard to decide :/

1. Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans; I'm not a Gundam follower but the premise of this show caught my attention and every single episode has been rock solid quality from developing the characters to heart beat skipping action, it even got me emotional at times. The music is amazing too!
MQgh2X3.gif

2. Psycho-Pass Movie; Urobuchi is back, Kogami is back and being a badass, Akane is back and being a badass and the Sibyl System keeps doing creepy Illuminati stuff. I thought before that Psycho-Pass was the best cyberpunk anime out there and this movie reaffirms that.

3. Fate Stay Night UBW; Fate/Zero is my favorite anime ever so I'm bias towards anything Fate but being objective, UBW had great art and action, awesome characters and a great soundtrack. Ufotable are gods of animation.

4. Shokugeki no Soma; Not in a million years did I imagine an amazing show with great characters to root for about... cooking.

5. Shirobako; Making anime ain't easy folks. This show made me stress out, not because it was bad but because characters I liked were going through some trouble trying to make everything work. Great insight into making anime with likable characters as a plus, also based P.A. Works.

6. One Punch Man; Fun crazy super hero story. Went it expecting Samurai Flamenco v2, was disappointed because it wasn't crazy enough.

7. Gakkou Gurashi!; Dat episode 1 twist. Do not be fooled by its moe aesthetic. This show was my
zombie
fix until we get
HOTD S2
.

8. Gangsta; The name says it all, gritty underground story plus people with super powers, the art was made by the same people who did Hellsing Ultimate +1 gritty.

9. Aldnoah.Zero; Somewhat unsatisfying conclusion but the action was fun and the soundtrack continued to be great.

10. Nisekoi:; Nothing happens the anime continues to not progress, we got more crazy funny situations and some characters got a little development, but still nothing happens and I love it. Best filler of the year hands down.

1. One Punch Man aka One Punch GAWD; ENOUGH FUCKING SAID! I'd be damned if the first half sequence of the last episode isn't immortalized in gif form for the next 10 years.

2. Haikyuu; Oh man Dahbomb yet another sports anime? Yes and it's also god damn GOOD! It has the feels, the characters, the animation, the soundtrack, the hype, the chemistry, the drama... it's everything a sports anime should be. I personally liked season 1 more thus far but season 2 isn't over yet so let's see how things go!

3. Death Parade; Excellent concept and execution coupled with great writing and interesting characters. Animation and art style are very pleasing on the eyes. There are very few bad things I can even say about this show. Would be higher but I need a bit more HYPE in my anime.

4. Ace of Diamonds; I am enjoying season 2 even more than the first season which was very solid. My only complain about the show are some pacing issue, it does take long for matches to progress. I like the characters, the animations, the drama, the hype, the matches. The coach is a manly man among men!

5. Food Wars (Shokugeki no Soma); This show would've been higher if undressing women during food tasting wasn't so prevalent in it. Actually solid writing and concept, overall a very fun watch. Had you wanting more (and I am not talking about the food here).

6. Kuroko no Basketball; You KNOW this was going to be in here! The 3rd season ends with a hype final match! This show does not give a fuck about realistic basketball plays, it's all about POWER LEVELS, DA ZONE and SAVAGE DUNKS! If I could rank shows on pure hype level this would be the best.

7. Gundam Iron Blooded Orphans; One of the best series Gundam series in a while (the best recent was GBF of course). Actual mature themes, solid pacing and not severely over dramatic which tends to the issue with many Gundam series.

8. Prison School; I rarely if ever watch pervert anime comedies but this one had me in stitches. Haven't had that feeling since Golden Boy. It helps that the females in the show look like grown women. Beneath the perversion it's actually a solid prison break, comradery story.

9. Your Lie in April ; Superb music, actual feels and decent characters. This one pulls on the heart strings... pun intended. I don't want anime series like these often because it's usually overly sappy but this one I made an exception and I am glad I did.

10. Shirobako; A nice look at the world of the anime industry. I personally wasn't invested too deeply in any of the characters but I can respect the writing and themes of the show.

Honorable mentions

1. Baby Steps season 2; I was actually not so sure if it was this year or last year but this was an amazing show as well. Down to earth and the underdog story never gets old. Unlike other sports show, this one keeps having the main character go through soul crushing one after the other but he always comes out with a positive outlook.

2. Gangsta; I wished this was better than it was, it could've been one of those gateway anime that you wouldn't be embarrassed to recommend to non anime watchers. Still a decent watch though.

Quite a few of my picks were shows that were in their 2nd season but I don't care as those are the ones I have been watching on the regular.

Looking at an the nominations makes me realize what show really jumped off the fucking cliff and that is Ushio and Tora.

I'm still confused now. We're we supposed to score (number) with points, or by our top 10, or either?

Accurately counting the votes isn't a difficult task, but when people are alternating between 1-10 and 10-1 for their rankings, it increases the time to do so.

Its a quality of life guideline for the tallying of votes.

Is something wrong with listing the whole thing? I know it started last year but the majority was this year. I thought the Animator Expo was supposed to go in the TV/OVA category, didn't we do that last year
No grouping. They are individual shorts with hugely different creative staff/goals.

1. One Punch Man
2. Kuroko's Basketball
3. Shirobako
4. Shokugeki no Soma
5. Kekkai Sensen (Blood Blockade Battlefront)
6. JoJo Bizarre Adventure Stardust Crusaders
7. Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Tanzai)
8. Durarara x2
9. Prison School
10. Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End)

1. Your Lie in April; Thank you for saving anime as we know it A-1.
2. Baby Steps 2; The goat sports anime of all time
3. Shirobako; Don don donuts let's go nuts!
4. SNAFU Season 2; The studio switch takes this show straight to the next level, plus Iroha
5. Haikyu!! Season 2; So good, plus Hitoka

TV Shows

TZtFosl.gif

1. My Love Story - First 10/10 anime since Madoka. The flawless gem of the shoujo romance genre. Great characters, great story, great character designs, great direction, just freaking great. I'm so so happy this was two seasons. I picked up every volume of the manga after three episodes, but the anime added enough value that the adaptation was still more than worth watching all the way through.

7X2sa63.gif

2. Yurikuma Arashi - I liked it more than the Utena TV show but less than the Utena movie. "Good", "yuri", and "anime" is pretty much always a case of "pick two of these things", so having a good yuri anime for the first time in over five years was pretty nice. One of a very small selection of shows that I've imported rather than wait on the American BD release, and the only one to not have subs so I can't actually understand what they're saying on it.

PU0fF8N.gif

3. Prison School - Anime sex comedy has progressively lost its way since the 1970s to the point where there's very few good post-2000 comedy shows with sex jokes as a selling point (most these days are just simply masturbation tools with no other value), but Prison School takes the id-driven "I don't give a fuck" style of humor from Go Nagai's 1970s sex-driven comedies and infuses it with excellent artwork and plotting. The adaptation shines particularly in its VA casting choices and use of BGM to enhance certain scenes, even if it paces some of the jokes a little too fast in order to get the whole first arc into a single season.

Exzi5Yl.gif

4. Osomatsu-san - The surprise hit of the year. A consistently funny show that is comfortable in just doing whatever the hell it wants to be. Besides the "regular" episodes focusing on the daily lives of the sextuplets and the people around them, so far we've covered otome game parodies, Robot Chicken style 1-2 minute skits, detective fiction parodies, strange vignettes starring the side characters where they don't have any actual dialogue, and remixes of plots from the original version of the show. It sticks the landing every time, there hasn't been a dull segment yet in 12 episodes.

l2sxTht.gif

5. Wooser Season 3 - Guest writers this time around include Kodoka doing a murder mystery episode and Urobuchi doing parodies of Neuromancer and Blade Runner. Almost all of the episodes were really funny with only a couple duds in the whole season. Plus the endcards make for some really nice desktop backgrounds.

J3G0KkJ.gif

6. Punchline - Not Uchikoshi's best work by a longshot, but still good. I especially liked the character designs and color palette. Maybe the game will pace the plot better.

X32cyzi.gif

7. Dance With Devils - Q: How to make otome game anime not just tolerable, but really enjoyable? A: Turn it into a musical. Starts out unintentionally hilarious, but becomes very self aware of just how ridiculous it is a few episodes in and runs with it. Ritsuka may not be much smarter than the average otome game protagonist and she still gets jerked around a lot, but she gets points at least for standing up for herself when the bullshit piles up. The boys are mostly pretty great too, aside from the creepy onii-san.

BSslt1Q.gif

8. Shimoneta - Not Prison School levels of good, but for a modern sex comedy this one is still pretty damn solid. It's consistently funny, the plot moves at a good pace, and given the concept there's surprisingly little fanservice for the sake of it. The satirical element of "due to censorship, high school students don't know what qualifies as lewd or how sex works" gets a lot more mileage than I'd expect from a modern sex comedy show adapted from a light novel. That said, this would probably be a few spots lower on my list of favorites this year if the 11th episode weren't one of the single best episodes of anything I watched all year and it didn't have that one BGM evocative of the Jaws soundtrack.

b6OMKRe.gif

9. One Punch Man - Gotta put this somewhere, I guess. It was pretty cool.

s2LAF6O.gif

10. Monster Musume - I guess? There wasn't really anything else this year that caught my eye that I would call better than it. Umaru was the only other "good" show I watched this year, but that was still just a "eh, it's OK" sort of affair for me. I wouldn't really put this show on a "top" list normally but there wasn't a whole lot else this year that caught my eye. As far as dumb haremshit goes, Monster Musume is very good at being dumb haremshit.

Films and OVAs
1. Psycho-Pass: The Movie - Not quite as good as season one but waaaaaay better than season two. God damn does that Engrish dialogue ruin the mood though.

2. Sex and Violence With Machspeed - Imaishi please just do a TV series like P&SwG again where everything is just dumb as fuck and hilarious.

3-5. Probably some other Animator Expo stuff but I don't remember much of them other than Sex and Violence.

1. Shokugeki no Soma - my favorite manga in animu form
2. SNAFU2/Oregairu2 - The dramas and Iroha = best girl
3. Parasyte = It ended in March, but still
4. Working!!! - Oh hey they resolved everything. Praise Yamada!
5. Fate stay/night UBW - The show wasn't that great but it was entertaining to follow the discussions and reactions to it. The animation was pretty slick at least.

I fully expect Shirobako to win though even though I thought it was dreadfully dull.

are people incapable of following the guidelines and template

Why won't people follow my made up rules?!

1. OnePunch-Man ; couldn't have asked for a better adaptation (well maybe that one sonic first encounter scene {...}), kudos to Madhouse and all the animators who worked on this.
it gets the 1st place for 2 reasons, a) animeGAF hivemind wants OPM to win atoy b) I called this show aoty way back when it was announced so I gotta stick to it.
c) it's great.
2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders ; because JoJo.
3. Prison School ; decided to wait for the anime before reading the manga, I was pleasantly surprised.
4. Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans ; another surprise, this new gundam show is actually good! [since the show is still running now in 2016, here I'm considering only the first 10-12 episodes or so. hoping that the quality won't drop]
5. Parasyte ; a good adaptation of a very good - and ~20 years old - manga.
6. Kekkai Sensen ; interesting characters for the most part, great visuals, some solid single episodes. I didn't like what was supposedly the ''main plot of the season'' - 2 kids doing something because something something family - but it was an enjoyable ride.
7. Ushio and Tora ; read the manga quite some time ago and liked it, as far as I can tell they're doing a good job with this.
8. Death Parade ; it was ok.
9. Ninja Slayer ; Inferno Cop with some Ninja stuff?! Not really. it seemed like that at first, but the length of both the series and the single episodes probably demanded something more. the humor became stale after a while and I stopped caring about most of the characters or the whatever story at some point. however they still managed to deliver some interesting episodes. plus great EDs
10. ?? haven't watched enough anime

*OVA/Movies*

1. Mushishi Zoku Shou: Suzu no Shizuku ; basically the last 2 episodes of Mushishi and the manga ending, it's great.
*sadface* yes it's over.
2. Space Battleship Yamato 2199: Odyssey of the Celestial Ark ; can't say I liked everything, and I wanted to see other characters back in action, but nonetheless it was a really good movie.
3. Little Witch Academia 2 ; Trigger delivering more witches doing magic stuff. I wasn't one of them, but I believe most of the fans/kickstarter backers got exactly what they wanted. I enjoyed it.

*dishonorable mentions*

Dragon Ball Super ; "my 2 years old brother can draw and animate something better than this crap" someone yelled at Toei.
Aldnoah.Zero ; dumb, ugly, hilarious (?maybe) and dumb.
Gundam Reconguista in G ; TOMINO is back! But sadly he can't give you back the time you wasted watching this Garbage. I have to admit however that I sometimes found all the nonsense to be funny.
Terror in Resonance ; Watanabe directing! Directing something which isn't worth watching, at all.

I'll take that excuse, for now! The Shirley/Luchinni episode definitely aired this year so I wanted to make sure you didn't miss out, lol. Also nice seeing you too, your consistent love for yuri always brightens up my day.

Good looking out, you know Shirley x Luchinni is one my favorite OTPs. :)

76049.jpg

1 - One Punch Man: Really people, do you think there's other choice?, this series doesn't take itself serious, this series is the best 20 minutes of your week, the best animation of the year, the best OP that just pumps you up. The series is amazing and you should watch it, don't wait for later, don't say "but it's popular I don't care", WATCH IT.

72078.jpg

2 - Gintama* (2015): I overlooked the series at first, I watched the first episodes, didn't catch until a couple episodes later, then it has become a wild ride, now on the best episodes, the best saga, the animation is not the best, but it's an enjoyable series, 100% recommended, read the manga and get to this point.

73178.jpg

3 - Parasyte -The Maxim-: I miss Migi man... The second half was as brutal as the first but it felt week on the last episode, due to being an epilogue, but it's a great show, another gem by Madhouse, OPM is the other big gem. They made it.

75639.jpg

4 - Assassination Classroom: You know, I love this series, this is one of the few series that brings a smile to my face feeling great, the series has heart, comedy, action, and tons of Koro-Sensei. Great one.

5 - Concrete Revolutio: I was wrong, this series is good, you gotta watch it.

6 - Prison School: Ecchi anime that gives no fucks and it works, one of the top series, it's stupid fun.

7 - Dragon Ball Super: This one is a controversial one, should I put them here?, why are they here?, because it gives me fun, nothing else, animation is inconsistent, the filler is great even better than the filler the other big series have, and I want to see what will happen with Universe 6. This series deserves to be on my list, it's good, but with tons of mistakes.

----------------------------------------------------------------

OVA/MOVIES

1 - Digimon Adventures -Tri-
2 - Boruto: Naruto The Movie
3 - Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of F
4 - New Prince of Tennis

1. Shirobako;
2. Sound! Euphonium;
3. Owarimonogatari;
4. One Punch Man;
5. Yurikuma Arashi;

1. The Diary of Ochibi;
2. Little Witch Academia: The Enchanted Parade;
3. I Can Friday By Day;
4. Girls und Panzer: This is the Real Anzio Battle!;
5. GIRL;

1. My Love Story; A delightful shoujo romance about Man among Men, Takeo finding true love. Takeo and Rinko make for an adorable couple and if you're in the mood for animated happiness on screen this is the perfect option.
2. JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Stardust Crusaders; There's not much I can say about David Production's adaptation of Stardust Crusaders. As a fan of the manga, it's more or less what I hoped for. The production reached some rough points near the end of its run but I still enjoyed it for all the reasons I loved the manga.
3. Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans; While the show is still in its early goings and still has the potential to go south like other promising Gundam shows, IBO has had an incredibly strong start. Even only looking at the episodes that have aired so far, I think that it is strong enough to take this spot. The tone and development of the characters has been so much stronger than I expected going in, this show isn't afraid of devoting full episodes to the development of the Tekketsu members and their associates and this benefits the show greatly. It's satisfying to feel a sense of understanding when seeing how Mikazuki, Orga and the rest of the family act both in and out of battle and how their actions maintain consistency throughout. The detail of the battles also impress. While other Gundam shows I've watched primarily focus on the Gundams alone, IBO splits focus between mecha, battleships and boarding parties which makes the battlefields feel far more realised. The tactics employed in those battles are much more exciting than the standard beam rifle affair.
4. Yowamushi Pedal: Grande Road; Yowamushi Pedal continued to be the most absurd and exciting sports anime I've watched. If you like your anime full of Burning Shounen Heart and determination to succeed over the competition, this is definitely the best pick. Even though there are so many teams at this point, the vast majority of the cast is still great. It actually makes it difficult to pick a favourite.
5. One Punch Man; I think everyone else has probably said all that needs to be said in here about One Punch Man, it's a super enjoyable shounen crowd pleaser with fantastic animation and fun characters. If not for Puri Puri Prisoner being a horribly offensive stereotype I doubt I'd have a single problem with the show.
6. Haikyu!! Second Season; Compared to Yowapeda, Haikyu provides a more regular and grounded representation of high school sports. It has been a lot of fun seeing Karasuno learn and grow as a team while they interact with Nekoma and the other teams at the training camp.
7. Osomatsu-san; What a great debut for a comedy anime, it's a shame they haven't been able to totally maintain that consistency. Whenever they focus on the brothers themselves it usually turns out great but some of the side-character bits can fall completely flat. Hopefully we'll see them perfect their formula with the new year.

8. Gintama°; More Gintama! Slightly worse but still great!

9. Baby Steps 2nd Season; More Baby Steps! Still ugly but still fun!

10. Ushio and Tora; Good standard shounen replacement for Hunter x Hunter, it's fun so far.

I'd still like to watch some other shows before this is over, like Shounen Hollywood S2 so my list might change before the end of this but I'm pretty happy with this as the base.

  1. One Punch Man - This anime basically has my exact sense of humor. It is also an awesome shonen anime, while at the same time critiquing and making fun of shonen. Dope.
  2. Haikyu!! Second Season - I don't think any anime this year makes me tear up as much as this one. I love the art. The characters, and jesus fucking christ, the friendship and feels. Its also been steadily improving over the entire course of the show. Which is really exciting. I also think that they do a really good job at making the other teams likable and having a competitive spirit without making everyone evil volleyball wizards (i'm looking at you Kuroko)
  3. My Love Story - Cute as shit. Suna is hilarious.
  4. Food Wars - Beautifully drawn. Slightly perverted. If you can make it past the PRETTY ABRASIVE first episode this sucka has a lot to offer.
  5. Kuroko's Basketball Season 3 - One of my favorite anime ever. That it is this low on my list speaks to the quality of anime this year. Basketball wizards unite.
  6. Yowamushi Pedal - I love these anime with main characters that aren't what you'd expect. This one has also struck some emotional chords with me. ;_;
  7. Sound Euphonium - Nice art. Great story. Fun characters.
  8. SNAFU2 - Equal parts funny and emotional. Really liked this one.
  9. Baby Steps 2 - I hate the main characters hair. Similar to Haikyu it does a great job of making the other competitors likable and feel like normal tennis players with their own dreams and desires.
  10. Your Lie in April - ;_;

1. Death Parade
2. One Punch Man
3. Shimoneta
4. SNAFU 2
5. Your Lie in April
6. Shimoneta

OVA/Film

1. Digimon Tri

1. One Punch Man; I still remember the day in early 2013 when I stumbled across this manga online. I thought the concept of a hero that's so bored of his overwhelming strength to be ridiculously innovative, and I was only proven right as I dived in and got to know the series better. Naturally it had been some time since I had torn through every chapter I could when the anime was announced. Fucking brilliant shit.

With an intriguing and downright hilarious premise supported by a likeable cast of secondary characters, One Punch Man is the best anime of this year, appealing to both longtime anime fans and newcomers to the medium.

2. Shokugeki no Soma; Foodgasms?! This series takes cooking, shounen-style confrontations, teenage boobies, and a badass main character and wraps it altogether in a medley of non-stop entertainment.

3. Oreigaru Season 2; This show will blow you away with its wit and subtle introspection regarding human loneliness and friendship. I can't help but laugh at how other series that rely on the power of friendship trope can even exist when shows like this make such deep commentaries on what it really means to have someone you can relate to socially. This is probably the deepest show with high school kids as a main cast I will ever see.

1. One Punch-Man: Funny, subversive, heart pumping action.

2. JoJo: Iconic and so much fun.

Watched 3 or so other shows that I wouldn't chart.

I just followed the guideline at the very bottom. The first rule is worded weirdly and may have thrown some people off.

But how I read it is numbering your list 1-10 like the following:

And so on and so forth.

And following examples in the OP is quite literally half the battle, and one you are winning.

Yeah, this is the way you do it and sorry if it wasn't clear enough.

In any case, it's not like if you don't follow the rules about the format your vote will not be counted. If it's easy to see the rankings in your list, I'll count it. As others said, it just makes it easier to count the votes.
