Showed "Long Live The Queen" to a friend ... next discovery queue was PURE VISUAL NOVEL.

I hate generic visual novels =P

Might finally nab New Vegas Ultimate and get Undertale, as SOMA is a little steep still for what I usually look to get out of the sales. I'll see if anything comes up in the Giant Bomb deliberations that makes me want to check on another title, as well as some of the stuff popping up on here to fanfare.

so i was sleepy and wasn't feeling like playing something that requires brainpower so i found myself dedicating like there hours straight to dying light

i had gotten level 2 agility last night and since i've been told already the game gets a lot better as you get the parkour upgrades i figured what the hell

and it's kinda true, level 2 agility feels a whole lot smoother to climb around and is just a lot more enjoyable to play. i've been mostly doing the main quest while finishing some side missions on the way there, but not too interested. i skip all the dialogue but watch the cutscenes, so i kind of get what's going on but i'm not super interested anyways and whenever i felt like giving the game a chance i've gotten a resounding "nope, this writing is still absolute shit!"

but having a lot more fun with the game and actually starting to engage with the combat and the upgrades a little more, even tho i still find it really boring and gross

it's kinda gotten my mind off eternity for a little while. eternity is definitely gonna be my #1 goty, but i've just finished act 2 and now i have yet another huge city to go through and it's kinda daunting, so i've been a bit weary of going back to it

so dying light has been a nice distraction, a simple game i can not give a shit about and just ignore all the sidequests and grinding and let survivors die if i feel like saving them is too much of a hassle. i don't tend to play games this way, but it sure is enjoyable to do so from time to time

i feel like i didn't get anything i really wanted this sale

like lords of the fallen, dying light and some mount & blade dlc. i also got terraria to play with friends but that's not even something i wanted just like something to play with friends

i guess i got fear 1 too which is like the best shit ever but i've played that game so many times already that it doesn't count

hopefully last day at nuuvem is gonna be something exciting

That's because I nabbed all the best ones, included but not limited to:

Axiom Verge, Galak-Z, Infinifactory, Not A Hero, Elliot Quest, TIS-100, Party Hard, Everyday Genius, Why Am I Dead at Sea, Broforce, Grow Home, Flywrench and Titan Souls

January should be good

Way of the Samurai 4 is the one game I really want (besides maybe Undertale right now), so it disappoints me that there's no complete edition that comes with all the DLC. But I am patient. (Plus, there seem to be compatibility issues with Windows 10 at the moment according to the forums.)

I'm on Windows 10 and it works fine for me.

i wouldn't put it on valve i think

i kind of feel like i should've just bought one big game instead of these smaller ones, but it was just hard to choose which one

i kind of wish i had caved on rocket league but i also feel like it's gonna be one of those games i have no room for in my life

but yeah, axiom verge, way of the samurai 4 and human resource machine were the big three i liked and somehow ended up with a bunch of games i didn't really want lol

you see what happens, valve, when your sales are shit and i have to buy whatever's cheapest from nuuvem's insanely confusing dailies?!

you see what it happens

Assassin's Creed Rogue and Unity were 60% off for a few days. You just missed their sale period.

(that probably won't change your opinion of the sale, if anything it'll probably reinforce it)

60%for steam keys was great considering this is what you pay approx. for uplay keys in the grey market.

I'm still sitting and pondering a few deals, since they're around 5 bucks each but they're also only 50% off and there's this part of my brain that still thinks back on how everything would gradually hit 75% off and I just kinda let another day of the sale slip by.

What strange times we live in.

You people mass buying games at 50% off are the reason average discount decreases each and every sale. :((

i mostly buy my games at lower these days

after taking my time to buy hate plus i made a vow i wouldn't wait to buy games i felt strongly about

so i got cibele pretty soon after release, same with squarecells and her story, etc.

One other reason is that most of our wishlist is 2015 games and still the wishlist is so big.

There are plenty of 75% discount, but we have all these games :(

Just picked up Cities: Skylines. A bit hesitant, but I guess that's what refunds are for

It's my first city builder. Well, I have Banished, but that's all about harsh survival and a smaller scale

Haven't played C:S yet since it's kind of late over here atm, but I have a question:

So what stops the player from using the same successful city format every time? Where does the challenge and replay come from? What provokes experimentation?

It isn't likely it'll ever be packaged with the DLC. Just look all the other Ghostlight PC ports. I just have the vanilla version of all their games.
By the way, it's been a while since they released Mugen Souls. Wonder when they'll announce their next PC port.

Mushroom 11 is really neat, great art style and the blob mechanics are a real head scratcher even by the second level.

Edit: This game is vicious.

The terrain, money available, and immediate needs of the city are the big factors. (I don't have the expansion, which I imagine will change things more.) Mechanically, it'll take a long while to get a hang of how traffic works, which has a huge impact on city efficiency, and revenue. Advantageous city zoning will be another factor; there's many things at play affecting how the zones perform. I think there's also some milestone-related unlocks, IIRC. So, lots of stuff is in play.

The thing that Cities: Skylines has going for it is that, in spite of all the mechanics and systems at play, it's very approachable, friendly, and quick to jump into. It's very easy to lose hours, or even days, trying to perfect (or simply improve) a city.

I guess if you're hardcore into planning ahead/spreadsheeting/architecting you could find the perfect city formula. But implementing that in a vanilla game, as planned, would be a challenge in itself, I think; not to mention masterminding it to begin with.

And after all this, it still has mods.

Try asking yourself the same question replacing "C:S" with "LEGO". :)

But, as for me: I've spent my first hundred hours trying to build a functional city, or what I think it would be a functional city, applying everything I've always wanted my RL city to have.
Like, what's the most efficient grid system, or how could I develop a city in a realistic way (ie. from a small settlement to a huge sprawl of skyscrapers).
At the time, I used only aesthetic mods, always with money enabled and whatnot. Let's say I wanted to sort-of "beat" the game without external aids.

At some point, though, I just started building for the sake of it.
I've disabled money, installed a bunch of game-changing mods, started giving zero shit about wiping out entire neighborhoods because they didn't look as good as I wanted, and so on.
After another 150 or so hours, I can't say my city are as beautiful as some I see on Reddit, but they made me happy.

Playing with this huge (and ever expanding!) construction set, seeing the roads you build be driven on, the neighborhoods you plan be inhabited, your subway system always crowded; trying to find that sweet perspective where the sun settles behind my favorite skyscrapers; pinning the camera in first-person on a bus and just enjoy its route across the city.

C:S is that.
Sheer joy of building things and looking how cool they are.

Here are the purchases I've made so far.
This is the first year I've really gotten into steam sales.

How am I doing?
You might notice that the two games I really wanted to go on sale (Mushihimesama and Undertale) both went on sale. Good stuff.

Thank god I'm not alone.
Tried it from both browser and client, no luck.
which card number was you better watch out? Search 'holiday sale 2015' and you'll probably find them, for some reason some still say mystery card # instead of the name they got.

Add Oniken in there, its dirty chap and a fun NES-style action/platformer. :)

Wanted to say I prefer to buy series that have the option in packs like Fallout 1/2/Tactics but the collection appears to cost more than buying them separately, lol.
Microsoft RTS collection is pretty neat, though. And it even comes with the latest AoE II Expansion.

I was looking at getting the old Descent games but thought I could wait for a better discount. Guess I getting them now.

Thanks Lashman.

I only do 70% off or higher, unless a game truly deserves it (i.e. DiRT Rally, Rocket League, etc.) - and even that's on rare occasion. Doesn't make sense to get a game for less % off, when it will get there next sale, and I'm sure 98% of Steam users have a backlog.

One thing that has amazed me about sifting through for low system requirement games for my work laptop is how high the bar is set on some games. Some indie titles are asking for things like the 8800 as a minimum, or otherwise known as the first decent card that could run Crysis.

Grim Fandango will be part of the January PS+ games.
I bought it on Steam yesterday so I will try the refund option.
Although Idlemaster had started the game and ran it for 110 minutes. We'll see what happens...

It is likely a matter of what is in their reach. An indie dev is only going to have what is on hand to test, and any beta testers, and it's not like they can really pick and choose unless they are well known.

And in some cases, a lot of the engines indie devs use, like Unity, might appear simple graphics wise but can be fairly hefty performance wise.

Speaking of which the original Binding of Isaac still brings any hardware to its knees?

Yeah! I already have all the other games from that RTS collection, so I felt like I needed to complete the set. I am curious about RoN.
Still pissed that I paid full price for AoM, but the other two I got on sale so nbd

Yeah, I suppose that makes sense.

I hope one day to be given a work laptop with a bit of grunt to it! It can actually play Left 4 Dead 2 decently but is seriously tasked by the likes of Magika and even Terraria!

Things ending in "a" it seems.

I just try to read game that gonna have steeper discount and I want to wait for it or not

I'm buying Grim Dawn and One Way Heroic plus because I want the game now and gonna be awhile before steeper discount.

Meanwhile I choose to sit Invisible inc, Pillars and Shadowrun Hongkong because its seem they touching 75% period or pretty close in spring sales :)
