This is infuriating. Imagine someone invites you over for nachos and they bring this out.

My super dirt simple nachos are:

Lay out Tortilla chips on a microwave-safe plate

Grate a TON of Pepperjack cheese onto them

Microwave for 45-60 seconds.

Enjoy.

Everything but the cheese and the chips are a distraction, IMO.

just add some Tostitos nacho dip and that's pretty much it. The diet of grade 11 gaming me all those years ago.

Had 7-11 continued on with arcade cabinets, I would have accepted this. Part of the experience for me growing up was eating 7-11 nachos amidst playing some random capcom/snk game(not always SF). This soon devolved into putting the cheese and chili on Fritos.

sigh
?

Sigh? Of joy....? Are we high fiving or what?

This. When my mom and dad divorced, she moved to a place with a 7-11 down the street. I spent many Saturday mornings walking up there and having the nachos and a turn or two on Mortal Kombat 2 or Primal Rage.

Nachos are a gift from God. Some (most) of you are doing it absolutely right. The cukes and cottage cheese....that's wrong on so many levels.

I use Mexican shredded 4 cheese blend on my chips and then put them under the broiler and then add some sour cream on the side after they come out.

Good stuff!

A crisp? What you'd call a chip in the US. Nachos are just a tortilla crisp. Not classed as a meal.

Its not just crisps there's meat and beans and cheese and buncha other things

Yeah but nobody would count that as part of a meal over here, crisps are snack food or like sweets, or a side/add-on to something that is actually a meal, not part of the meal itself.

If I sat down for launch or dinner and someone put crisps in front of me with meat etc on them I'd think it was a joke. Never seen them used as anything but a party snack food or side to a already complete meal.

Weird seeing it used as a meal.

remember me
Best nachos I ever had at a bar near here. Takes at least 3 people to finish these, and you will be stuffed.

Super nachos at your local mexican dive are also damn good, though I prefer carne asada fries.

I shred cheese, cut onions, tomatoes, hot peppers, and then fry beans and ground beef with seasoning.

I think layout a bag of nachos on a big cooking sheet with parchment paper, and evenly distribute all the toppings. Finally once the beef and beans are cooked ill put it on top then pop em into the oven at 350 until the cheese is melted.

I usually serve em with sour cream, sometimes sriracha and my homemade guac (ripe avocados, very finely sliced tomatoes, onions, cumin, cayenne pepper and some garlic + lime (I hate cilantro.)

I will occasionally used canned chili if I'm being lazy, or skip the meat altogether. the guac is really the highlight.

I make me once a week. I like the lime flavored tostitos!

load my shit up with cheese, jalapeños (major key), meat, and a tiny bit of lettuce and you'll have the most lit plate of nachos ever made

I'd slap the shit out of someone who had the audacity to do such a thing.

ALL of them?
If I could get a big trash bag, put all the chips in there, dump all the cheese and jalapeños in there and shake em up.

That's how I'd eat them. Nachos out of a trash bag.

Yeah, these are nice.

Have made a few attempts at them , mine was basic AF. Nachos, sauce, two types of cheese and cooked until brown

Would consider them a snack or a starter not a main meal.

Maybe because in the UK it's usually served as a side dish and the portions are not too big unless it's to share.

If i were to use doritos sweet pepper for the crisp what should the dip be if i wanna make the. Nachos-style.

I'm not a big fan of nachos. I do love carne asada fries though.

So good.

OMG yes! Carne Asada Fries >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Poutine Fries.
Sorry Canada, but you easily lose this battle.
I'm lucky enough to have an awesome taco truck nearby that does CAFs where I can replace Carne Asada with Al Pastor. We're talking GOD tier here.

You mo fos will eat cheese on toast and call it breakfast, but won't call chips with ground beef, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, guacamole, shredded cheese, and sour cream a meal. Get outta here with the double standards.

I cook mince, mix salsa into the mince. Spread Doritos on a tray, put meat mix on top, cover in cheese. Put in the oven until cheese melts. Top with sour cream and guacamole.

yo op this thread is the last thing I needed at 2am when I'm hungry af.

Anyways, nachos are amazing, and I want some now, but the 7-11 is at least a 3 minute walk and it's cold outside. I'll deal. But I'm getting some goddamn nachos first thing tomorrow.

Not enough pictures. Anyways, last time I made them, I did it with layer of tortilla chips, cheddar cheese, refried beans, ground beef, pepper jack cheese, and salsa. I would have added gauc and sour cream, but I'm living in China so did it with what I could find. No jalapeños either, sadly.

I love making quick Nachos.

Handful of tortilla chips, generous helping of hot salsa, very generous helping of grated mozzarella.

Blast in the microwave for 1 minute.

Done.

(Yeah it's not the most authentic, but as a quick snack it's hard to beat).

Guac, refried beans, sour cream, red and green jalapeños and cheese. Pile it up and put it under a grill until the cheese melts into gooey goodness. Enjoy.
