Lol, Mushroom 11 is rad but it ties save games to your account name so I got rid of the afk I put in my title and my save disappeared. Had to change my name back.

And everything will be two bucks eventually but 50% off can still be a great price for grand games. Of course I shouldn't be buying anything with my backlog but that's the sickness.

So what stops the player from using the same successful city format every time? Where does the challenge and replay come from? What provokes experimentation?

For Cities Skylines to be challenging, you have to set the goals for your city for yourself. Concentrate on what you want to achieve (certain layouts, perfect traffic, zero/low pollution, etc). If you build a jack of all trades city, and don't care that much about how it looks, there really isn't that much of a challenge in the game.

JaseC seems to alternate between normal Saoirse and scary, avant-garde Saoirse.
I don't like it.

It's all Just Cause 3's fault. :p

RPS is primarily a PC gaming site.

I think he's making a joke about how that's not a well-known fact among console players, which has lead to threads like this:

What are these guys trying to prove? I mean, there are some pretty notable omissions from this Top 24 list. But, opinions?
I don't like it when outlets make their GOTY list be all indies just to try and be "different".
Is this their top 10 indies or something?

RPS u so hipster
That is one hipster ass GOTY list.

Proteus? Seriously? Is that even games, bro? And Saints Row IV? That shit was broke.

And so on.

That is kinda a hipstery list. Also, it made me look up other sites 2013 lists, and it makes me wonder why people hated 2014 so much. 2014 seems way better in comparison, lots of great PC RPGs and an all time great year from Nintendo.

I am not spending any more money! :-D

The final list of purchases are:

Undertale
Prison architect
Battlefield bad company 2
Dark souls 2

Still in the backlog is the witcher 3 so I'm pretty set for the next few months or so. Dark souls 3 is the only new release I'm really looking forward to playing.

Only played a few hours of Undertale... Wow this game is different but awesome!

I said it before, I'll say it again. 2014 was the best year in gaming in the past decade.

This is my list right now, and I don't know if I should drop things or not. I kinda just started adding things.. >.>

Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 or maybe Fairy Fencer F or neither.
BAD END
METAL SLUG
Saints Row: Gat out of Hell
Undertale
Resident Evil 6 Complete
Killing Floor 2
Darkest Dungeon
LISA: Complete Edition
The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky
Crusader Kings II: Charlemagne
Soul Gambler

$86.93 Subtotal

$5.99 - or maybe Fairy Fencer F or none. Just not too sure.
This comes down to whether you enjoy a lot of console-war-related memes in your games or not. The gameplay between the two and their systems are quite similar (I'd give a slight edge to FFF).

How about 2015?
PoE, Hong Kong, W3, AoDec, Trails SC, Underrail, DOSEE...

2016 is shaping to be even better, with Gust games on Steam, Trails 3rd/Ao/Zero translations and ATLUS coming to their senses and porting Etrian Odyssey games to PCs.

I don't think DOSEE should count, since it's basically the same game with some improvements.

You can play with the superior control method now, so it most definitely counts.

You could already play it with mouse and keyboard :P

Game Recommendation:

(Picture links to store page) Currently 50% off @ 4.99 USD.

The game is top down action game with RPG (light I guess) elements and perma death. You have to clear the points in the map and there are bosses after each zone.

There are different class (need a bit balancing but it isn't broken). You get stats to choose up with some level ups. Each class has three skills. You get items either by finding them, chests (some needs keys) or a vendor.

Game doesn't have controller support. You use KBM. There is good content to game even for an early access game.

Game is rewarding to play and fun.

thank you I was interested in someone opinion on it.
If I loved risk of rain I'll love this too right? The upgrades also look the same

Hmm.Is the gameplay solid? I can deal with the system-related memes as long as its entertaining and not a bore gameplay wise.

what! 2015 is easily better.

MGS:V, Bloodborne, The Witcher 3, Mario Maker, Fallout 4, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Pillars of Eternity, GTA V (PC), Cities Skylines, Dirt Rally, Rocket League, Under Tale, Yakuza 5, Shadowfall: Hong Kong and a whole lot of indies on Steam that I won't list.

In a normal year, we'd be lucky to get one of MGS:V, Bloodborne and The Witcher 3.

Both of them are solid gameplay-wise. What I like most about them is not wasting your time with waiting for anything. No loading, skip-everything button in battles, etc.

The biggest drawback of them (and pretty much all the IF games) is that they are made on a budget, and that manifests in asset reuse both within the game and across games. I feel like FFF is a bit better about this than the Neptunias.

Also, if you want to play the Neptunia games, you shouldn't just "deal with" memes, you should enjoy them. They're half of the point!

I'd trade half of those games for a M&M XI in a heartbeat. And it's Shadowrun :P (That's one I wouldn't trade). You do make a good point with PoE.

If I knew Fairy Fencer F was going to get a release on Steam when Neptunia 1 was released, I'd have probably waited for that.

Not only is it filled with console war meme stuff, it's basically filled with EVERY annoying thing about JRPGs generally lately. Not sure if it's the same with FFF, but I'd be willing to bet it's toned down.

I didn't mean " to deal with" to sound in any negative sense, I just saying I would be fine and shouldnt be too in the dark to do so. You say Fairy Fencer F is the best overall one to start with? I like to always give something a fair chance. I just not very familiar with the series too much.

Well, obviously, the first Neptunia game gives you a better idea of what the series is like, while FFF is standalone.

If you do enjoy console war humor then Neptunia is also more amusing.

Hmm, thanks for the information, I got some more days to decide before the sale is over.

Yo DURANTE
Would you say you wold give D4 your Durante Seal of Approval/Quality?

Recommend me a good arcade racer, 60fps and preferably not one where I hold a boost button down for most of the driving.

Hmm NFS Hot Pursuit
Burnout Paradise
Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed

Off the top of my head for now :X

Had to skip Divinity Original Sin again, I've never played a turn based RPG and I just can't afford to gamble at that price, it really does interest me though so one day hopefully. It has never has a good discount that I've seen, it's even expensive on CDKeys for some reason.

I got a Divinity: OS two pack for like 16 dollars back in the Russian trader days, lol.

Finished D4 last night

Good god, swery cmon now with that ending, shit

It was a hell of a ride though. Put 7 hours into it in one day so that's gotta count for something.

My only issues are that I couldn't seem to get triple buffering working and that even with downsampling the game still was a jaggy mess. But it was a thrill!

That S-E bundle isn't so bad. At the BTA tier I only had two duplicates.

Well, you use the refund function here. It's better for the devs if you try their game and maybe refund it, then if you don't buy it at all.

Well that's fine, you like your RPGs and strategy games. :) I think there was a reasonable amount of those that came out this year, plus we are getting a lot of jRPGs on Steam now, FFXIII-2, FXIII Lightning Returns, TiTs Chapter 2, FF0-HD, Fairy Fencer F, Way of the Samurai, Dragon Quest Heroes.

(I really liked 2015.) :)

And yep stupid me, I knew it was Shadowrun, I was thinking of Dragonfall, its in my backlog.

Can't decide between Hand of Fate or Binding of Isaac: Rebirth + Afterbirth. Need a game to listen podcasts/music to and can be played in short bursts.

Any good recommendation of adventure/point and click games? I've bought the Telltale games collection, Her Story, Contradiction and D4 - Dark Dreams Don't Die.
