Just read up on it now. Shame that they've found themselves in such financial difficulty. Due for complete liquidation by March. I guess the best we can hope for is another publisher picking up the rights to the series for a return to Steam.

Laura Croft and the Guardian of Light is not living up to all the hype. It's a bit boring, plus it's been crashing a lot. An adventure in mundanity and jank.

Almost no overlap between Elite and Rebel Galaxy. The only thing they really have in common is being set in space; space sim vs. arcade spacer (I just made this genre up). It's basically Star Trek vs. Firefly in terms of how technical it gets.

They are so different. I love Elite, but it's very serious and slow paced. You will only really get the most out of it with a hotas set up. I played exclusively with a controller for a week or two, but once I switched to my X52 it was much more enjoyable. I could never go back.
Rebel Galaxy is a much more user friendly, arcadey experience. The combat is similar to Blag Flag's rather than the sim like combat of Elite. It has much more to do though if you're looking for more than the serious space exploration in Elite.
Someone in the thread mentioned that the developer has rights to the game. No idea if true, but if yes then maybe they'll self-publish (or indeed use another publisher).
