The only game I'm surprised on your list runs well is SLZ, but I haven't played it. 2d games have always done fairly well in unity, and AAC and Ziggurat have small levels.
Sure, but dude above was saying Reign is struggling to render one character and a few houses or whatever. AAC is rendering at least a dozen enemies, explosions, bullets and all of it running at a pretty blistering pace with no noteworthy performance drops. If Unity can do that, it should clearly be able to render one character without drops.

I have $23 to spend on two games. I am looking for classic gameplay and visuals, lengthy and polished campaign / story, replayability, and full controller support.

I was looking at Axiom Verge and Westerado: Double Barreled.

Any other recommendations?

guys, i've been using my brother's shared library for a while now and today it seems i can't access them any more, it says "whose shared library is in use". i'm the only person he has authorised to play his library, so this isn't a case of exceeding the limit of sharing his library.

coincidentally, this also marks the start of a new year, which makes me wonder if the authorisation must be renewed every year?

Steam-Achivements analysiert - Spielt ihr noch oder sammelt ihr nur?

German only sadly but very interesting video showing a couple examples on how few gamers play/finish their games via achievement stats. It's a good watch also showing some stats how gamers themselves say (via polls) that they finish most of their games. Throw some interesting ideas like how logical it is that games are frontloaded/not "well" towards the end. Sadly German only.

thanks, i would watch that but i dont understand a word.
how we dont have yet voice recognition made into text and then translated? i thought this was 2016

So Dragon Dogma's suppose to be pretty good right? Pulled the trigger for $22, but don't know much about it. Is it like witcher or Dark souls or what?

That list is like a checklist for Axiom Verge, it hits every single one. Replayability may be debatable depending on how you'd enjoy replaying a game like that, but the game is built for it and will move secrets around and stuff in each new playthrough.

Is your brother playing? If he is then yeah that's supposed to happen. If he isn't, then have you tried restarting Steam?

Dusk Golem or Dr Dogg should be doing one, they better.

I believe that Dogg's doing one for Dragon's Dogma, and I'll have something written up for Oxenfree. There's quite a few other great games coming in January:

  • The Witness
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider
  • Homeworld: Deserts of Kharak
  • Darkest Dungeon
  • Resident Evil Zero (obviously)
So if people have some thoughts on any of those games, maybe drop MRORANGE a PM and write something up for the next OP! The pic looks great too.

No black bars on that January banner?

Oh that's... wow. Far worse than I expected. Worst I've heard of is Dreamfall Chapters, which sounds like a technical trainwreck on SR's level.

Pillars of Eternity remains my benchmark for poorly-performing Unity games, that I've played at least. Static background, some 3D models, and the instant it throws in multiple particle effects my framerate tanks. I didn't have a great GPU playing it, but there was no reason for that performance when something like Dark Souls 2 looked and ran beautifully on the same hardware.
Yeah, Pillars was surprisingly rough for me as well back when I played it on my good old Q6600/560. I mean I'm glad Unity exists, it let many indie devs move onto more ambitious projects, but man that performance doesn't fly anymore.

Is Satellite Reign even on Unity 5?

Didn't realize her story was 3.60. Seems dumb to not try it now. Might also get hacknet. I need a palate cleanser from the big games this fall.

Open world action game with climbable monsters and raising party members you can share over the internet.

It's from the team that did dmc games so it shares some similar design choices and philosophy for combat but in a smaller scale and much less combo heavy.

I like Matthew Brown no less than any steamgafer but does he absolutely has to make us play in reverse universe, why clearing a square is the left click, why? It can drive any human nuts!

been playing some of squarecells, it's nice, but I'll say you one thing, it's no Paint it Back, Paint it Back is true GOTY.

Finally thought of a new thread logo/banner for STEAM 2016

Thoughts?

Looks good

Pokémon X/Y in-game on Citra

Many emulators seems to be doing good progress.
The "new" ones citra, Rpcs3, cemu and xenia is the most exciting at the moment but good old dolphin still makes progress every month.

You really gonna fight for that one extra frame?

Games that are locked at 59 or 58 (like Deadpool was for some stupid reason) often have a weird judder at times because it's not going smoothly into your refresh.

Though IIRC Watch Dogs was uncapped FPS wise so it's likely something to do with the monitor. Rivatuner override should fix it.

Though if it's reporting like 59.47 or whatever, that's normal. 59 exactly though, I'd override.

So I have to sign up in advance for these Humble monthly keys? Got dammit.

But for the final polish of your SkillZ, there is only one thing to go for.
Get yourself some Fatality™ Gamerfood™ and boost your Skillz to the max.

Unleash the inner beast in you and make your opponents cry.
