Killthee

helped a brotha out on multiple separate occasions!
First time I've seen that one and I loved it. Couldn't get enough of "Room for one more, honey".

Wait for Night Call. It's doubly creepy.
That one is fucking creepy too. Something about the grandmother trying to kill her grandson, though...

It's a tough call (groan) between two creepy phone episodes.

Edit: Interestingly, "Night Call" was written by Richard Matheson, adapted from his story "Long Distance Call".

Id like these on bluray but Im sure Id only watch them a few times a year. Unless Im really into the movie it just sits on the shelf so I cant justify the cost. Maybe though...

Oh, I just realized I got those two mixed up. I was referring to the one with the grandmother, yeah. That one has got a really creepy and uncomfortable subtext too it. But the one with the older woman getting the phone call is also really unsettling, especially the ending.

You really phoned that pun in by the way :p

The one with the old lady is especially creepy cause they always seemed to play it around 1 am.

Yeah, it is exceedingly grim.

I'm bowing out of this before it turns into a pun-off!

Edit: Aw, dammit, I'm missing "Nothing in the Dark"!

What's with the AutoMotion Plus effect on the episodes this year? Awful.

Yeah. I hate that. I hope that's something that Syfy has done and that's not something done during the HD transfer. I won't buy the Blu-Rays if they're like this.

It's something SyFy is doing to them because Netflix's HD episodes look natural and much better. SyFy's motion smoothing (or whatever it is) looks like ass. I watched part of one episode and it made me a little queasy.

I haven't seen the BluRay's, but from what I've heard, they look amazing. Definitely no motion smoothing involved.

Edit: Apparently SyFy isn't using motion smoothing (which didn't make sense to me anyway, but I knew something was off) they're just speeding up the broadcast. Presumably to leave more time for commercials. Shame on you SyFy, shame.

"I Sing the Body Electric" is weird for a Twilight Zone episode. It's a really good story (how could it not be, coming from Ray Bradbury) but it's just kind of a straight sci-fi story. No ironic twists or anything.

Anyone else notice that the episodes seemed to be at a higher framerate than usual in HD? Not used to seeing that on cable.

I kind of wish they had left the laugh track in this episode. It would be surreal to see an episode of The Twilight Zone with a laugh track.

Yeah. Cavander is Coming originally had a laugh track when it originally aired on TV. It was meant to be a pilot for a TV series about Cavender trying to help a new person each week.
Pretty sure there was a little bit left in at the beginning.

I wonder how much of this was shot on an actual boat. Captain's speech to Bell was great.

Edit: Damn, gonna miss "He's Alive" starring Dennis Hopper.

I have had it on almost constantly, but still feel I didn't actively view enough this year. This series really gives me the feels. Why must it end?

One of my favorite TV shows of all time.

Same. It's my #1. The themes and topics are timeless. (and I love seeing old actors from my youth - most of whom are long-gone now).

Every year, I usually start with the network on the opening night of the marathon, and then move on to my digital collection when sleep and work prevent me from being able to keep-up. So I'm still on Season 2.

It's so wonderful. The themes and topics truly are timeless, you're right.

It's wild for me to see William Shatner in Nightmare at 20,000 feet, and then still know and see that he's still around today. It's really cool, and almost surreal to me for some reason.
