As someone who hasn't really played a Resident Evil game since 4, are any of the newer ones worth picking up?

Like I mentioned a few posts up, Revelations is pretty good, but don't expect anything of RE4 quality. Rev. 2 is supposed to be good as well.

Patch notes say it moved to Unity 5 last month

Most Unity based games have moved over it seems.

A rather late reply, but that's neat. I wasn't aware of that.

Maybe I should ask PC gamer if I can write an article about how much K-T ports suck.

You totally should, see it as a means to spread some awareness. One could hope that some negative coverage featured in a prominent PC focussed outlet could sway Koei-Tecmo in the right direction.

I don't really enjoy writing negative articles though.

Please do.
If websites can spend dozens of articles on Arkham Knight, there should at least be one on the travesties Kecmo does.

Yes, 5 and 6 are really fun despite their flaws. I haven't played Revelations so i cant say anything about that but i heard Revelations 2 was pretty decent too.

That depends on taste and what you're looking for, know none of them are like the older games.

RE5 is RE4 woth co-op and a slight bit more action and a bit less atmosphere. However, if you have someone to play with, RE5 is a very fun co-op game, I'd say one of the best co-op campaign games.

Revelations 2 is a bit low-budget, but it gets better and better with every episode and sort of mixes stuff together into an interesting blend. It has a fun but cheesy story, some more low item management on harder difficulties and survival buts, some twisted enemies, a few puzzles a bit later in, and some light stealth and crafting, but mixes with some good optional puzzles and tense encounters.

^^ for Dusk Golem

about that 25% off voucher at GMG...I believe it expires on the 12th, not the 4th

And does it? I believe it's the 4th, but that's off memory so I could very well be mistaken.

Even Revelations and RE6 are fun with some flaws and rougher edges. They're a bit less solid all around but some may find things that appeal to them a lot about them.

And while not RE, Evil Within can receive a recommendation, though a BIG love/hate game.

And its mostly okay to gift a game from Canada to the US right? No region lock between.

Should I get Helldivers now or wait for a sale? damn decision, decision.

Noooo restrictions on Canada just yet. Our dollar hasn't fallen far enough for us to be thrown into Valve's exile list. If you spot anything that's cheap enough on the Canadian store that you want, PM me here or find me on Steam - my profile is my homepage here and in my profile. :)

And since I realized I posted that at the bottom of the last page and I was editing/adding to it, I will edit that out and post it here. XD; WANT TO SPREAD THE ZERO WORD.

Good ole Jawmuncher was curious for my impressions of Resident Evil Zero before the HD version cometh, so here I go. I'll give a detailed (but non-spoilery, don't worry) impression of what I think of Zero, which I've played three times on Gamecube/Wii, the most recent playthrough being one I held RIGHT BEFORE REmake HD was announced in 2014.

Great post, sums up my own thoughts as well. Resident Evil Zero is a really underrated entry in the series. I'm still going to wait for it to go lower in price since I still own the GCN version, but if unlike me you've never played the game before, $15 is a steal.

Just please add at the end that they should hire you to port the atelier games :P

I'm really happy I get the chance to play Resident Evil Zero, as I missed it on Gamecube, and I'm thankful to Capcom for what they're doing with the Resident Evil property at the moment.

So I've made my first purchase this sale and year.

It was Undertale.

One hour in and I can already say this year is off to a great start.

I bought Undertale four days ago, and beat it the following day, but haven't even been able to think about anything else. However much you might be enjoying it, you haven't even seen what makes it so special yet. It's honestly one of my favourite games of all time.

Played through Ryse today ... meh. It looks pretty and controls well, but there is barely anything to this game at all. The very familiar feeling story and bland characters aren't worth getting into and sadly the highly repetitive "rhythmic" combat (which for some reason reminded me a lot of a Fable 3 without spells) just didn't do enough for the amount I had to spent fighting in this game. There is nearly no enemy/encounter variety and even bosses are actually nothing more than more aggressive and tankier versions of regular enemies.
Initially I wanted to play through this game in one day but I just couldn't play this for more than an hour a day before getting really tired of it. Plenty of people seem to like something about this game but I just don't.

Freedom Planet on the other hand is great. I never liked Sonic games but this one feels amazing, however the amount and length of the cutscenes is a bit ... unexpected. I also hate to admit but I really suck at the boss fights in this game. They are not hard but I still somehow manage to die a couple of times on each one of them. Either way, I really enjoy this game and will definitely give this a second play through with Carol and/or Milla.

I really wish Valve would change these stupid ass market locks.

All I want to do is sell some of my dang cards but I had the nerve to change my password two days ago so I can't.

*snip*

Thanks for the write up. I've never played REZero(and I need to start the remake already), but I might give it go despite how divisive the title is.

Nice review, nobody has done a reccomendation for RE0 yet, you could probably cut a chunk out and I'll put it in the next thread in the OP if you want to send me a PM.

GAME RECOMMENDATIONS SO FAR:

Rise of the Tomb Raider - Dr Dogg
Oxenfree - Uzzy
Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen - Dr Dogg

Still no Canadian in here who can host a dying light 4 pack? I want :(

okay, just to make this clear to anyone looking for a Dying Light 4-pack, I also would like in on a Dying Light 4-pack, so that makes 2 of us right now.

If we cant find a Canada-GAF member to host it, we might just have to have a US-GAF member host it.

So concerning the Resident Evil 0 costume DLC. You get the Cheerleader Rebecca Outfit, Wolf Force Billy Outfit and In-Game T-Shirt for preordering. Is the in game shirt different from the shirts from the t-shirt contest? I remember them saying they would send the DLC code for the contest winners if you voted when the game releases. Will the code for be for all stages of voting? I only voted for the first stage of the voting process so I'm wondering if I'm getting all the costumes or not.

I think we're just gonna have to wait and see, they've been silent on it. Though thankfully on PC we can unlock said free DLC through other means.

I'm after a dying light 4 pack although I'm in the UK!

Why don't you host, then? Not like you're losing anything. They'll just all PayPal gift you the CDN$15.30~, and you buy and hand out accordingly.

I can help.

I wish I could but can't afford all that money to come out of the bank at this moment :(

Man should just made Fairy Fencer F's instead ys Origin booster pack, sold easier ;__;

I'm in desperate attempt to gathering fund so can buy FF7 as my last purchase lol

I think that's four of us. Although, Freelance, I'm not sure I'm comfortable trading you first, you being a junior. Would you be okay with paypal gifting the money upfront, and then my gifting you the game?
