uh did you click on it? I put in quotes to make it smaller, but if you click it it gets back to the original size (1.800px × 816px), if you already did that, I'm not sure there is a bigger version than that, granted never really bothered to search for it, it's death watch so use search related to them might find something

edit: hmm reloaded page and it got smaller now for me to and clicking does nothing sec will rehost it
edit2: should be fixed now

Ah, thanks.

Not sure what was happening, but on my end, it was very small, and didn't expand when clicking it nor when opening it up alone on a new tab.

Is season 2 skippable too, or should I watch it all the way through?

I would say make sure you at least watch the Holocron Heist 3-parter, the Geonosis 4-parter and the Mandalorian 3-parter. I also like "Cat and Mouse", "Lightsaber Lost" and the Boba tries to kill Mace 3-parter.

Finally getting around to watching Season 6 of TCW. Already off to an amazing start. Though I think I will skip to the last 4 episodes after the initial four episode arc.

People have to remember that Rebels is on Disney XD while TCW was on Cartoon Network. One channel is way more willing to let shows get away with things than the other.

I remember one Rebels Recon episode where Andi asked Dave Filoni something about whether or not they would see more overt violence and he said "Not on Disney XD!" and laughed.

Disney won't be having any of this, that's for sure

Ok, but that is exactly part of why Rebels will never even be close to as good. They are intentionally sterilizing it "for children", missing the whole point that Star Wars is always targeted at everyone.

I don't know man this shit was pretty twisted on Rebels: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ieaXoq5ZCY0

Also, side note. Just saw the old Clone Wars episode where Palpatine was stealing younglings and like, turning them into vegetables to aggregate their force powers so he could see the future better.

Like damn.

Combine that with the Inquisitors and those deep space outposts to research the dark side and Palp was up to some shit.

I'm one of the few that didn't think the force awakens was all that great, but I still like the lore of Star Wars. I followed the episode guide in the first post and just finished "Landing at point rain and weapons factory". Holy shit those 2 episodes are awesome.

That sounds like Kotor, so that sort o stuff is canon then still

I enjoy Rebels but it's definitely time to step it's game up now.
I want to start seeing 3 and 4 episode storylines and characters need to start dying.

Just starting watching on Netflix from US and it's pretty damn good. I started it ages ago on Season 1 and couldn't get into it, but now following that episode story arc guide, once I got to Season 3 it's got really good.

I tried to watch the movie the other day but it was pretty damn awful. Do I need to watch it to understand Series 1?

So, I liked the (mostly unrelated?) Clone Wars 2D series, absolutely hated the Clone Wars movie and now the series has popped up on German Netflix.

Anything I should know? Does it get better than the first few episodes? Will I like it when I hated the cringe worthy movie? Also, I'm going to watch it in German since they got all of the original voice actors there which is awesome.

Oh, and did I mention that we got an outstanding 14 disc audio drama of the Thrawn trilogy with all the original voice actors in Germany?

I would just follow the guide in the op but yes, it does get better.
The movie was just a bad pilot.

The first two seasons of The Clone Wars were pretty terrible.

Hopefully Rebels will improve in the third.

It's not bad right now, it's just not great either.

What? I have to listen to that!

Also: Yes! It's worth it! Very much so, it only gets better and better. Especially the Clone centric episodes. Skip the R2D2 and Padme ones though.

There is a guide floating around with the 'must see' episodes. I'd recommend it very much, I watched most of the show that way - I'll have to see, if it's still floating around here somewhere.

Edit: Ähem - the guide in the OP that is...

Thanks. I'll try to wtahc all of the episodes, even though it might be tough at some points. ;)

You should very much do so. It's very well done (as all the other German Star Wars audio dramas) and you see everything happen when you close your eyes. They couldn't have done a better job.

Made a post on the Star Wars OT (not The Force Awakens OT) and thought I'd pop in here and say that I started watching The Clone Wars last night. Four episodes in, and it's not bad so far.

Character models are okay, but the space battles are nice. The first episode with Yoda vs. Asajj Ventress might not have been the best episode to debut the series with, since it feels a bit disconnected with the other episodes, but it wasn't bad in any case.

Revenge of the Sith showed us the Clones with more individuality, but TCW takes it further. That's pretty neat.

The 4th episode with Padmé and C3P0 taken hostage aboard the Malevolence was cool. They weren't shy with her and Anakin's secret romance, at least.

I'm still going through this slowly, and liking the first season a bunch more than everyone else seems to. There are some cool arcs so far.

If you guys like the 1st season even a little, you'll ultimately love the show. The seasons just get progressively better really.

Started watching The Clone Wars recently and I'm on the tail end of Season 3 (I only watched a couple arcs from Season 2 because I didn't really like the cartoon format they had going before). It's been pretty good, although the entire Mortis arc was a bit much.

That's good. I like the section I just got through with some cool Grevious episodes and the episodes with Dooku captured by pirates.

To get the kid audience back reacquainted with the OT era while allowing the creative team to do their own thing without conflicting with the ST writers.

There's no link between Rebels and TFA.
Thanks. I just find it odd that there are so many force users and yet the film universe is only now having an "awakening".

Edit: I didn't mean to sound so crass when posting my original questions. I want to eventually get into it and the figures for it with TFAs marketing branding confuses me.

There are always Force sensitive people in the galaxy though. They're born every minute. The awakening in TFA is specifically referring to Rey.

I getcha but the movies seem to paint the force and Jedi as some rare, mystical and almost forgotten thing. I guess that's the result of following one person conveniently away from every other force user compared to following a ragtag group of cool characters (to sell toys).

Could Snoke be someone from Rebels?

He's chopper. It's canon.

Well, it is pretty rare in the wider context of things. There are always people being born with Force sensitivity, but in a galaxy of trillions there were only 10,000 Jedi during the time of the Clone Wars. And they had a special crystal that lets them hone in on Force sensitive babies being born so that they could go recruit them, so they had a pretty good grasp of the situation.

But yeah, the movies focus almost exclusively on the Jedi, so since there's only one Jedi left it makes it seem even rarer.

Anakin: you go and save your girlfriend
Obi Wan: Right
few second latter
Obi Wan: She's not my girlfriend!

was hilarious

Loved those episodes mainly because it's great to see more of Obi-Wan solo. Him being his own man is a lot more interesting to see without him having to teach Anakin or anyone else.

Still wished we got some more insight to his character in the show. The Mortis arc did a lot for him on that front, too.

The problem with pre/midquels is that there is no sense of fatalism since you know the destinations of most of these characters, and CW/Rebels is no exception. A fight between Obi-Wan and Dooku is going to get interrupted because both of those characters survive until episode 3. You can kill off original to the medium characters (and when TCW did it it was very effective-
Satine/Opress
) but the main characters are going to get away scot free.

That being said, CW still managed to tell interesting stories despite these constraints. Rebels hasn't quite gotten there yet.

Rewatching the first Mandalore arc. Still great. Going to skip around a bit, watch some Maul episodes.

So, doing a chronological rewatch and I reached "Bombad Jedi" in season 1. Yes, an episode where Jar Jar is mistaken for a Jedi. And he was actually kind of funny in that episode. Jar Jar worked, but why?

I think it's because there's one change about him in Clone Wars that makes all the difference. The world reacts like the audience would. Everyone knows Jar Jar is a wandering disaster zone with a crazy amount of luck. He's still a bit of an idiot, and C3PO gets some deadpan lines on his behalf, but... he works. And that's kind of interesting.
