Awesome Games Done Quick 2016: January 3rd - 10th.

Strider nes was weird as hell, it's both janky, and Australia is connected to Africa by a 10 foot long tube. Still got good memories from my childhood though with that intro playing.

Woops, sorry, the run itself was good. I meant to say was a cringe fest due to the terrible singing, which makes it a highlight. The run itself was good and interesting, but not necessarily a "highlight moment" if it wasn't for the singing. My mistake.

I still hold on the terrible singing (except for Spike and that guy singing the Gaston song. That was legit.)
 
This is such an amazing run! Shame they couldn't get an RGB modded NES for this. The flickering background is distracting and makes the video quality worse.
 
These are my favourite runs, no stops, pure speedrunning and skill
 
This is freaking badass. I was kinda bummed they were playing games in unfamiliar with but you don't have to know this game to enjoy the run

Id take this over stuff like HL2 anyday, I admire glitches, but I love this pure mechanical speedrun more.

its true, I just love the game, they arent treating it super serious its just a fun race, good personalities in it.
 
I feel like I would have played the crap out of this game if I had gotten it as a kid. Seems to be pretty stable for an NES game to boot, very little jank.

Its made to look like a NES game, it was made in 2012
 
I didn't even notice the 2012 part as I had a window obscuring the video. That's pretty cool to make an actual NES game, probably a fun challenge as well. Still impressed with how cleanly it's running.
 
Argh, I'm getting insane stream lag on my end here, probably because a ton of people in the US are waking up now. Right now, the stream dies every ten seconds or so.

Maybe in ten years or so this won't be an issue anymore. :-/

6 seconds off and alot of room for time to make up, makes for an interesting scene, even one of his deaths less and he woudl have beaten it.
 
Easily the best run so far.

Wish other runners and segments was as good as this.

Showed the true spirit of speed running.
 
Damn these blocks until AwfulGDQ are godlike. The reason why I watch these events.
