Awesome Games Done Quick 2016: January 3rd - 10th.

Can I expect levels like this in Super Mario Maker because this is how you'll get me to buy that game.

There are infamously hard levels in MM and more being made every day, with 1-2 clears out of millions of attempts.

There's a Super Mario Maker run happening? Is it Trihex? I've been watching that guy play SMM for awhile. He's pretty crazy at the hard 100 mario challenge.

Valve anti cheat, people spam it in chat when a speedrunner breaks the game, its twitch chat having fun "HE BROKE THE GAME, VAC!

Yeah it comes from the CS:GO community. Cheater get VAC banned.

You will hear it most of the time in CS:GO tournament streams.

It is trihex, its Pangas levels made a little easier for AGDQ (They have some mid level checkpoints)

Yea definitely, although I'm not fan of doing perfect jump situations. It brings me back memories with these fanmade games before super mario maker came.

Also thanks for the responses!

Don't let the door hit you on the way out.

No problem. This is NOT Super Mario Brothers 3. Watching an unofficial game is hugely un-entertaining. If we applied this logic, they should speedrun through other fanmade creations of different Resident Evil levels or something, that are also not the real game. Good thing it is for charity.

Pretty much

These games are harder than 90% of the stuff you see being runned at the event

Yeah, most of the stuff in AGDQ is people pushing the limits of the game and using outside-the-box strategies to finish games in less time than they're designed to be finished in. Kaizo-style games are designed so that you need to push the limits of the game and use outside-the-box strategies to finish the game at all. The speed part isn't that they're using crazy strats, it's that they're finishing levels on the first or second try as opposed to the 80th.

Unofficial games? oh the humanity. Have you called the police yet?

If anything, speedrunning unofficial games is a lot more interesting because it's not a game everyone's seen 1000x already

No one claimed he was running Super Mario Bros. 3. I can't even wrap my brain around what your problem is with this run.

It clearly says Kaizo Mario Bros.3 they are not substituting the og game wich gets, anyway, runned at this event yearly

Also this runner keeps being impressive

200,000 viewers, the highest its been, chat loves it, the crowd loves it, we love it
Its working on every conceivable level, I cannot fathom how any of this is a problem, its a great watch.

I've been playing Mario games for almost my entire life and it took this run to make me realize that the getting hit sound effect is the same as the pipe sound effect. Absolutely crazy run and incredible level design.

I wouldn't be surprised if SMM was inspired by the popularity of ROM hack levels and Kaizo in general. Ultra hard Mario hacks are popular all over the world and well known.

They basically built an official Kaizo making game lol
