Awesome Games Done Quick 2016: January 3rd - 10th.

Mario Maker is incredible! What a great segment.

I've been watching this constantly since it started days ago, and I've been trying to find out who the short gentleman is who often does commentary or interviews. Is he a streamer or something? His insight has been really great - especially when he interviewed a developer during a speedrun.

Blechy. He's the best.

That would be Blechy. He's a fantastic interviewer, runner & commentator.

Or they should just go to a different crowd camera every time. I really wouldn't like a "you have been enjoying this for too long and have to move" precedent being set.
I'm looking around and only see the one crowd camera. I made a cameo on it yesterday but I don't think I'm sitting in its field of view today. I might be a couple pixels on the couch camera though...

That could work too. I don't mind him goofing off, but doing his best to put the focus on himself kind of sucks.

Great - thanks for the information everyone. Blechy indeed is a cool dude. I'd love to watch him stream if he does.

He has a stream but apparently it's very rare for him to stream from what I've heard. I think the channel name is blechorz? Not sure, could be wrong on the spelling.

I have a love/hate relationship with watching speedruns - they're so amazing to watch, and yet I feel like my video game skills are pretty much nil after seeing some of these guys perform. Like now I won't ever be able to play Super Mario World the same way again.

The race format doesn't do it for me. Their setup only allows game audio from one source, so you naturally focus on the feed where that audio is coming from and the other three might as well not be there.

I'd like to think that you'd forget such runs... or remember that some runners play these games over years and years with a certain goal.

Yeah they should regularly switch the audio in races so we get the full experience.

It's very difficult to see who has the lead since they're all taking different routes.

At least I'm focusing on the one with the audio marker on him.

Just in case anyone wants to see what things look like from the opposite angle:

That was pretty cool watching Akisto -- the music suggested trumez was ahead, and Akisto was taking different routes, AND Akisto missed both a clip (I think?) and the special blue koopa in one spot.

Despite all that, I could have almost believed it was a TAS. So smooth!
