Yes, I think in this particular case it is a reasonable opinion to have.

Original art:

I think character portraits should be left blank!

that puzzling face
The immense success of their games in the US had to have been an influence.

Heh, that still reduces to IFI. I like it.

I'm not sure I'd call IFI's sales "immense success". They're still pretty niche, outside of a novelty-driven surge of ReBirth 1 on Steam.

Second-rate Anihawk
Hey another game that was on the Steam leak list.

Gonna grab it day 1 since I love me some dungeon crawlan.

You don't like it so it shouldn't exist. Yes that's a very reasonable opinion to have.

you people need some perspective
I'd say it is a reasonable opinion to have. It'd be like if a foreign localization of The Last Of Us replaced Ellie's model so that she looked like an anime character with giant tits just flopping about.

Neptunia did so well that it got IFI their own branch. Someone made serious bank off that franchise.

This thread has literally just shit the bed.

It was a fun game with some creepy pandering that Experience are better than resorting to. Yet, it sold like hotcakes, so there you go.

...right

like I said, perspective seems to be lacking in general

With the option to not have it look like that, so this would be a non-issue. Get your examples right. :>

To be fair, this thread is already almost half as long as the import OT. The attention-grabbing/controversial art style might have been a good move after all.

So, NISA are publishing this on PC too?

Pretty amusing that they lose their boss who sets up IFI and makes a killing on PC ports, and then slowly but surely they realise they should be doing the same thing.

Also I have to say, NISA really dropping the ball with actual localization announcements lately.

1st half of 2014 they push out DanganRonpa; W&THK; Demon Gaze; Mugen Souls Z; Neptunia PP & Battle Princess. 2015 it's Criminal Girls; HTOL#NIQ; Awakened Fate & Operation Abyss. Every single game a new localization.

This year, they've got 3 games scheduled so far for H1 (and running out of time for anything else to make that window). Of those games, 1 is a port, 1 had already been translated by September 2015 (so they're just sitting on it) and 1 is a new localization. 1 game is all their translators have been working on to make it out recently.

If they'd had a very busy 2015 I'd understand, but they haven't even. The last half of last year only had 3 games which is fairly quiet for them.

What the hell are you doing, NISA? =/

They should have the original artists do alternative art for all the other animu games out there. That sounds like a fair trade off.

Just posting to say that the reasoning for this (it was on advice from NI? or someone besides Experience?) is what unnerves me. That's where the true danger lies.

Also portrait replacement is aces if the art is too ugoo or uguuuu.

What is the game difficulity and how easier to get in to compare to others dungeon crawler.

I did play Elminage Original(PSP) and found out that it too difficult

I think Wizardry:tales of forsaken land(PS2) and Etrian Odyssey series are more suit to my skills.

So do you think this game is beyond my skill or not.

This is more like Elminage Original. TotFL was a pretty damn hard game, too.

The Vita and Xbox one versions at least will let you switch between two styles

Why... the original looks so much better and unique tbh.

I can't at the witch/goddesses/whatever in the right side exposing her breasts for the anime edition T_T

You know, I was going to joke that the only thing missing from the generic anime version was an ahoge, because you know it's truly crossed the threshold when there's ahoge. I was going to add one in in MSpaint.

Turns out there already is. Just really hard to see

A mess but still will check the game since I need a new Dungeon Crawler in my life and I heard good things about Experience Inc.

Why is that? Whats the difference of playing lets say Tales of on PS4 or PC besides one offers better graphics?
The only thing I can say is that I find dungeon crawlers to be a good "pick up for 15 minutes and get some levels in" game and not a "sit down and play for 2 hours" game. Has nothing to do with PC vs anything else, but rather handheld vs monitor/TV.

I'm perfectly fine with anime style stuff and Senran Kagjra level designs, but the redesigns for this game are just embarrassing when the original art is so amazing. I actually want the Vita limited edition because the art is so good, and I almost never pay extra for that mind of stuff.

The thing is, its Optional the selections so it does not really matter if the new designs are in there or not. As it is not as if any of the versions have the new art style as the only default setting that is unable to be changed.

It's being given that as a public face on the XB1 version, though.

Cool :D!

This was the game that is getting an Xbox One version with art style changes, right? If so, great get for the Vita and I hope everyone enjoys the game when it comes out :).

I never said it shouldn't be an option ... I said it's embarassing. It is.

I mean you could put up finger painted replacements up for the art in the Louvre, give people the choice to see that or the original, and the finger painted stuff looks embarassing in contrast ... That's what we've got here. Infantile art versus a dark gothic that captures the mood of the game.

Sp, yeah, its embarassing ... And if someone prefers an inferior style, more power to 'em, but ... Yuck.

If you let people choose to see original art or anime version in Louvre, I bet it would get even more popular with tourist.
