EDIT: The digital version doesn't have the Guaranteed Beta Access listed on the page. Choose the disk version if you're just going to cancel it anyway.

Good point.

I saw it missing from the PC digital, and available on both consoles so I drew my conclusion from there without all of the information.

As a general rule I never buy Ubisoft games at launch, I just might reconsider that. Assuming the Beta is interesting. (I probably still wont buy it unless it comes out during spring break).

Anyone have any comparisons yet on PC vs console? I generally stick to PC, but everyone I know whose interested in this will be getting it for PS4. Not sure which one I should look at pre-ordering yet.

Upgrade confirmed? Looks amazing.

nah, it has been downgraded......but nothing like Watch Dogs. It will be really hard to tell on a decent PC, because the game does still look amazing.

But then again I didn't have a problem with Watch Dogs and thought it looked great on my computer. Just people liked to use a lot of noon screenshots when the sun was straight up in the sky when there were no shadows lol.

Just preordered from Amazon and got my beta code within a minute. Hopefully the beta further sells me on the game, it's kinda fallen off my radar but that trailer looks interesting. Well, looking forward to the beta starting and reading everyone's critiques.

Got my code as well, then cancelled my preorder. That shouldn't affect anything right?

Getting pretty excited to play this. Did a little youtube research on the rpg elements and it seems pretty simple yet varied.

The developers are really pushing for this game to be extremely personal with it's players in action and I'm sensing some Walking Dead vibes only throughout the whole trailer I was waiting for a zombie to pop up

People should stop referencing data that makes me feel uncomfortable because games get ported to platforms I don't like
There are different types of pistols. semi-auto, auto, magnums. Also sniper rifles, bolt action, markman rifles and shotguns. I don't know if bows will be in the game.

So you always have a sidearm that has unlimited ammo. I also encountered a shotgun and different SMGs. I personally didn't find any sniper rifles but I imagine they're in there. Have doubts about bows though, but hard to know for sure based off the alpha.

Thanks for the information! I won't hold my breath for Bows to be included in the game but they would be a great addition to the game if they are since Compound Bows wouldn't be out of place in this game setting.

Is there a post in this thread that details how beta access works?

If I buy this, it'd be PS4 DD. But people comparing it to Destiny is a major turn-off. Making the prospect of a blind-buy a resounding "fuck no".

Here you go:

The only thing I can tell you is to pre order off Amazon (you won't be charged a dime until release day) and cancel it afterwards to get a Beta Code and try the game for yourself. The Destiny comparison is just there for familiarity but the game is basically a 3rd Person Shooter with some RPG elements.

Give this a watch as it explains what the game is exactly and what to expect:

Thank you, Xion.

Edit: I have to pay $70 for a preorder? lol no. Thanks anyway.

I think by saying its "like Destiny", people are saying that this is not really meant to be played solo. Its a multiplayer game.

I think it looks great, and the urge to pre-order is strong, but I have to see how micro-transactions effect the game - because I hope that any question of whether or not people can spend money to buy gear for this game is non-existent. If I'm a single player and I want to go to the PVP zone, how do I do that? Can I venture out alone? Though its been said that that is not how to play the game, I think its interesting that-that could be the case...if I have to sit in a lobby of any kind after leaving my base, the game (to me) loses points, because then it is like Destiny.

tl;dr If theres a go-to-orbit, like in Destiny, I...I'll...I'll still get it but won't be happy about it.

dude, it's amazon. They don't charge till the game ships. Pre order, get your code, and cancel your order afterwards

It's a shared world RPG shooter. XP, Loot, PVP, End game, etc. You can solo, you still need to be connected to the server to solo.

You can pre order without giving them any money. It's been said in every thread ever, amazon, pre order, get code, cancel, no money charged until it ships. There are no lobbies, there are hub areas (Social areas) looks like you can get quests, level up, sell and buy items, etc.

The entire point is you don't have to pay anything for the pre-order.
Forgive me, I don't ever buy physical games, so I'm not familiar with the process. But I get to the point of finalizing the transaction and it sure appears they are going to tender right there. No indication that will happen later. Also the pre-order guarantee states any price change between now and release will be "refunded to your card". So please forgive me, they make it quite confusing.

Again though, I do appreciate the reply to my (likey annoying) question.

This is why I was interested in the beta. Trying not to blind-buy anymore.

Edit: oops double post. Anyway thanks for the replies folks. Very helpful.

Darkzone you can do by yourself also. After playing the alpha i noticed alot of people prefer just to extract their loot also instead of going roque and shoot you. Sure its tense when standing their for the chopper to come but its not that everytime you have loot you get shot.

Also darkzone is just a section on the map. To get in there you just walk over there and then you walk through some kind of hub where you can buy stuff and when you go out on the other side you are in the darkzone and see other players.

ACU wasn't downgraded. WD had to be downgraded due to the fact that it was cross gen. Granted, this trailer is probably the PC version. Have to say i'm not looking forward to the inevitable leaked copy with potato videos/poor screenshots thread. We had one for ACU and people were saying it looks worse than AC4...

While I won't claim ACU got downgraded, where this at?

The base/hub areas and the open world are completely seamless, there's no equivalent of Destiny's orbit loading/matchmaking stage.

And you can definitely go into the pvp areas alone. It'll obviously be more risky than going in with a group, and there may be some encounters that aren't really possible solo, but there's nothing stopping you trying (and given that anyone can drop group at any point and shoot you in the back, even grouping up isn't exactly risk-free).

And remember that just because people can be dicks, doesn't necessarily mean they will be - they released some statistics after the alpha, and something like only 10% of players ever went rogue (ie, attacked other non-rogue players). The dark zone is a pvp-enabled area, but the primary source of loot there is still pve combat against AI.

Sorry are people getting beta codes for pre-ordering the game right now on Amazon? I pre-ordered during the E3 deal and haven't gotten any codes yet. Did anyone else pre-order months ago and get a code?

How do you fast travel between areas? Trying to understand how the lack of destiny orbit mechanic would work.

People may seems like dicks too but pvp felt like it gave more dark zone XP for DZ ranks

You get some XP off Ai in DZ

Plus that sweet pvp gear

Just like any other fast travel mechanic in a RPG. To some places you can fast travel and you select it on the map and after abit of loading you are there.

Wonder what browser plug-in does the Division Beta sign up need? All my computers say that you need a plug-in to access it but doesn't tell me which one...

I think this was more the case in the Alpha because it was filled with players that are really excited about the game, but once it gets out into the public I fear that it might be a GTA Online kind of situation, where-in you really can't do anything without being shot. It may, however, just be a symptom of the user base and the game from which my fear originates. Red Dead Redemption also suffered from this.

In the end, I know that it's bound to happen and that's fine, but I'd like some sort of unspoken team work from time to time. I see it a lot in Elder Scrolls Online. If you see someone fighting a big enemy, it's not unusual for group of people to gather and help out.
