Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

I love 'gief in SFV but his standard costume and his alt are a little boring, I'd love big, pink scuba-gief back or even mecha-Zangief. Something gaudy.
Only alt i need back for geif

The Alpha costume looks even worse. Like Ken in alpha looks wonderful. But this crappy model in SFV is just awful. :/

Meh.

Sorry to insist about Ken, I just felt like he was given the worst treatment, look wise. Maybe Vega too.

They made the two most "beautiful" guys in canon the ugliest in game. Nice.

Ken isnt hot but how can you say Vega is ugly? He's the best looking guy in the game so far. And to be fair none of the women have beautiful faces. They went with character and identity over beauty.

Okay Chun is p cute

Old Chunners vs New Chunners

Dat difference

Model is exactly the same as far as I can tell. her eyes are just looking up instead of down and the lighting is different, makes a difference though and the game is much more colorful now in general. Deeper shades instead of harsh shadows.

I think the only "off" thing for Vega to me is his eyes tend to look crossed a lot. Looks good overall to me.

I don't think Hot Ryu has a hot face personally but I guess I should leave that up to ladies and gay men to decide.

It looks like ryu s artwork at least.

Ken and Vega look nothing like their artwork anymore.

Vega looks like shit. His eyes proportions are off. Ken is just garbage, the banana hair doesn't help and the face is a creepier Charlie sheen.

As much as I personally like customization what you'll get is all black, all red, and all black & red opponents 90% of the time. Considering that it seems somewhat easy for modders to create custom colors Capcom should just go all the way and continually release colors for each costume, charging Fight Money or Zenny to purchase. I'm talking like each costume gets 50 colors so everyone should be able to find something they like.

Well, that's why you have the options limited, with nothing too loud colors wise. When I dropped USF4 it was crater chest / purple gi E Ryu 90% of the time, dogface Ryu the other 10%. At least this way some of them will have a diff colored headband or something. At the end of the day I don't think more options will lead to less variety.

I wish we day had the face from the reveal trailer. Best face.

Agreed. She looks less and less asian, and more and more caucasian with each update. She still looks good, but her face looked best at the initial reveal imo. I wonder if they will fix Karin's yellow irises.

Chun does not look 'less asian' unless you think wing eyeliner makes one Asian. She has bright lipstick now and less exaggerated eyeliner, but her actual face isn't any less Asian now than it was before.

One thing I've noticed while playing the beta is that the character's themes will usually sync perfectly with intros, so it'll be onto the main part of the song by the fight actually starts. I like that a lot.

Anyone have any tips for somebody who have never understood Street Fighter? I did win one round which was refreshing to me. I use Charlie Nash, and using mk,hk,mk and mp,lk,hp as my two attacks, and then mixing it up with Sonic-attacks.

My opponents seem to be super quick, and I can barely figure out what to do, because they are so damn fast.

Gief has an alt where he's in a bear coat tho

He also has an alt in scuba gear full body scuba gear.

Again, those are both from forced themed packs, which aren't as character relevant or natural as regular alts. That's where the weird stuff like Zombie Ryu and Scuba Gief and Squirrel Makoto start showing up. The animal costumes basically required people to be covered in...well...animal costumes.

In terms of regular alts, like the ones were actually talking about, those tend to be character relevant. And, Gief generally doesn't like hiding his beautiful muscles.

Charlie Nash isn't exactly noob friendly to use either. He looks cool and maybe thats why you picked him but he ain't easy to pick and play.

Nash has a slow walk speed and is very much an 'advanced' character. He has great normals, but you likely won't use his specials to their fullest ability off the bat.

My advice to everyone learning SF is to start with Ryu - you can get a feel for your normal attacks and he has very specific special moves for each situation.

Question

Have they mentioned how many stages the game will have?

Will there be more available through DLC? Eventually

I'm not sure if it's been discussed. I'm hoping that we haven't seen all the stages the game will have at launch.

I'm also hoping that some of the new DLC characters bring some stages with them (I wouldn't expect a new stage for each new character).
