You don't need to compare TDKR to the MCU,it was a smash hit for DC/WB. Crtically and commercially. So yeah, not sure where this DC ain't made anything good in a decade crap is coming from, even if you ignore TDK aswell.
A disappointing movie starring Batman and a flat out bad movie with the Superman one. Not a good track record.
In production values, certainly. By a country mile. Can't think of any other reason though.

What's so smh about that? It is what it is. Multiple different styles and rhythms in one track. I guess people love the way it flows, but it could've been like 3 different songs.
Didn't say it was bad, just that by itself, I don't feel it as much as others.
Hardy needs a bigger role.

Topic for another thread I guess but as a Batman fan (despite what some would think based on my recent posts about him) I hated TDKR. Absolutely hated it. I've seen worse comic book movies to be sure (Spider-Man 3, any Fantastic Four movie, etc, etc) but just ugh. Ugh, I say, Nolan!
Not even close. TDKR is clunky and disappointing, but if that's bottom of the barrel, I don't know what Fant4stic or ASM2 are.

Even if the TDKR wasn't as impactful as TDK, any MCU comparison ain't in the same ballpark. Ain't in the same league, it ain't even the same fuckin sport.
Haven't seen any of his movies, so i'm unaware of how he developed his haters. He looks really good in this. His Boomerang seems different though. I'm used to the character being a slimy, calculating bastard with composure. Jai's is still slimy, but mad.

Marvel is the benchmark right now standing for super hero movies right now so why wouldn't it be brought up.

Personally, I'd say TDK is the benchmark against which a superhero movie should be measured.
But that's just my opinion.

TDK's not even a good movie
TDK is also tonally and thematically so distant from what most superheroes are about - hell, it's tonally and thematically different from alot of Batman comics depending on the writer.

I still don't think we'll have anything that beats the Nolan trilogy but I'm just glad to be enjoying this golden age of comic book movies.

The only good thing about it is that it introduced Black Widow. That's it. The movie is trash.
