Street Fighter V Beta 3 Thread: For when Star Wars is sold out.

Do we know what modes are included in the game yet?

I asked the question in another thread (which admittedly was talking about the SP) and didn't get an answer.

My mate and I used to love hopping online and playing doubles - is it in?

No one knows. Capcom hasn't announced any modes (besides what's known) yet. We probably won't know for sure until launch.

This is how I feel when Capcom opens up the beta servers then takes them away...

Damn these bumps I want to play SFV. I'm sick of USF4, I lost all motivation to play, it's boring and the only reason it kept me going was the PP.

So should I get a SFV fightpad?
I only own a shitty wired xbox 360 controller at the moment and it's painful playing fighting games with it.

Any other controllers around the house? A DS4 pugged in via USB will likely work out of the box in the final release, and you can get a DS3 working with some fiddling.

Got nothing, only spared the wired xbox controller when I switched fully to PC in the end of last gen.
I never picked up any new controllers from this gen.

i think that's a good move if you aren't a stick player

6 face buttons and a better pad will make the game more accessible

Yeah I think I might pick the Ken one up.
Do you need anything more than a microusb to usb cable?
Because I'm okay with playing it with a wire as I don't feel like picking up a bluetooth adaptor.

I'm pretty sure they don't even have a wireless version in the first place.

Check out the Hori Fighting Commander 4. They're awesome, and work on both PS3 and PS4, and I think that means they're also good for PC, right?

AAHHHH thread was at the top of gaming side, thought maybe the beta was up. Dammit.

Anyway, yeah, PC version = best version.

Also only version I can play it on since I don't have a PS4. But the fact I can use my MadCatz KE stick on it is a definite plus.

You're a SF'er, Bobby? I knew I liked your movie commentary for a reason.

Except for Transformer animated movie slander. /shake fist.

You're a SF'er, Bobby?

Just barely. I mean, I play the game a lot. I just never get any better at it, heh. I'm pretty sure actually one of the ways I found myself at GAF was due to following a link about Street Fighter you posted waaaaay back when I was semi-active at the PA boards.

So I guess everyone over in OT side can blame YOU for my bullshit.

My wife suprised me last night with a SFV pre-order, which included beta access. What are the chances they'll do some more tests before the game launches? Are there are any days they tend to run these on?

You need to stop being so absolute when people ask about game versions lol.

We are coming out of a generation where input lag and frame drops were common on consoles.

The ps4 version is perfectly fine and runs perfect. Obviously whoever can play games at 4k 60fps on PC is already getting the PC version. Why wouldn't they ? But many people are wondering if it's worth getting the PC version through tweaking the options a lot because it s "definitely" the best version. As if ps4 version was any bad( like almost every single capcom port on ps3).

It isn't. Nobody can recommend the ps3 version of sfiv but sfv is absolutely fine.

Also, given the amount of cheating and bots usage on the PC last beta, expect capcom to enforce some securities regarding mods.

okay here's a better way of saying it besides graphical stuff and mods

Fightsticks from all around can work on the PC version while the ps4 one is specific and will be even more specific if capcom chooses not to use the driver

I personally wouldn't do SF5 on a PC unless I had an extremely tricked out rig just to be safe.

PS4 version looks great, runs great, and in my beta time had issues with smooth connections with PC players. It would match me up with vietnam dudes while I'm out in Colorado, and then it turns into a chug fest. I had to disable matching me to PC folks.

Both versions have perks, but if I had to guess the bigger population will be on PS4, and I aim to steer clear of PC matchmaking altogether.

My hunch is they do one more beta test a week or two before release with the final build of the game to double check and make sure everything is in order.

hi guys

since malice shut down the old calendar (rip) we're making a new one

http://tinyurl.com/thefgccalendar

we'll get the major events but if there are weekly events you don't see listed please mention them and we'll pick them up

also regarding methodology for keeping this as updated as possible (jp events, south american events, central asia and SEA events, etc) links to other calendars would be very helpful.

if I don't respond here going through /r/streetfighter mod mail will notify all of us, link here: https://www.reddit.com/message/compo...FStreetFighter

still updating it as we go :) please give us a little bit to get the hang of this

edit: you can tweet the r/sf mod who is doing this directly too, @pyyric on twitter

It's cross platform. It doesn't matter which version you buy. Unless they fuck up lobbies. You matched up with bad connections. 5 bar only man.

Wat

???

I'm saying matching on a wired connection on my PS4 in the last beta only gave me laggy shit connections when it matched to someone who was on the PC version.

Therefore, my conclusion is, the cross play is ass. Therefore, I am going to use the setting option to not matchmake against PC players.

Unless they fully fix it. Why bother?

PC players are more likely to be wired than PS4 players. If anything you should get better quality matches with PC players. In the 52 hours I put into the PC version, I got maybe 10 laggy matches out of the hundreds I've played. Had no problem playing against PS4 players.

I see. If they don't have an option to choose your region and solid connections in cross play, they fucked up. Here's hoping. Connections were great for me on PC.

Yeah this.

I know the game is cross play, but I still want to go to the platform with the bigger community in case people start to filter by platform. I especially want to make sure I'm where most of the pros are going to be playing, which I'm assuming will be PS4.

Oh, and another plus for the PS4 version I didn't see anyone mention is that it'll be a bit more portable than the PC version unless you have a gaming Laptop, which could make for some pretty great game nights.

You came to weird conclusions. If anything PS4 users will be more likely to be on wireless, have fun with that.

The community on PC for sf4 is still plenty active. Cross play assures you access to what you want, while also getting the best PC offers. If you have a middling rig, I can see not going for it, I guess.

Oh, I know. PC is where I do all of my SF4 playing nowadays, but I'm assuming that even for SF4 the biggest population was on 360, right?

I dunno, I'm still really torn. I've got a preorder for the collector's edition on PS4, but part of me wants the optimal experience on PC (and I know my rig is more than capable of running it on the highest settings). I'll likely end up with both down the line, but the lack of any account carryover between platforms makes that kind of daunting in terms of DLC and overall cost.

You can get one now and just wait until an optimal, all in one packaged game down the line for the other. I got sf4 like, 4 different times last gen. Yeah, 360 was and probably still is the largest community.
