Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Finally caught up on MCZ Cup. I've been saying since beta one that (almost) everyone was sleeping on Birdie.

I mean, everyone sucks at the game right now and the tourney doesn't mean much, but the character is undoubtedly strong.

Game is hype as fuck. Characters are hype as fuck. I wanna play everyone. In IV, I barely wanted to play anyone.

Guys... I'm excited. I haven't felt this way about Street Fighter since Alpha. I haven't anticipated burning through as much time on a fighter since II. Bah gawd this game is dropping in 3 weeks! Holy shit... Street Fighter is gonna be as much a part of my life in my thirties as it was in my teens!
 
Probably posted already but here's some new details regarding Fight money and the DLC timing.

Capcom also shed a little light on how they'll be handling the earning of in-game currency, called Fight Money, for purchasing DLC characters down the line. Offline activities such as completing arcade or survival modes with different characters, as well as ranking them up individually will earn you Fight Money.

Going through most of the offline content will net you enough to buy one new character, the first of which will show up in March. At that time, daily missions will be introduced to earn a steady stream of Fight Money going forward.

Hope it's short missions, I don't want to have to play 4 hours per days to keep maintaining a good ratio of fight money before I can play as I want.

I believe they've said that it's going to be mission stuff like we've seen with some Capcom classic fighters released digitally. Like perform X amount of Critical Arts or get X amount of Perfects.

If the quality is the same as in pictures, I'll cop on ebay.

Went digital for SF5 because why would I need a disc when it's never leaving my console?

just had some questions before I do tho...

has it been decided if all content will be free eventually?
How hard will the grind for money be to say unlock guile whenever he comes out?
How about those pre-order costumes will those be free if you pay with fight money?

Thanks to anyone in advanced who can kindly answer these questions, it trully will determine my early purchase towards the game.

Also how do you get the steel book? Collectors additional on Amazon is talking about a Ryu figure and comics.

gameplay related updates are all free. Not all content will be free or able to earn, will be exclusives cosmetic stuff more than likely. Atm...only way to get those costumes are through preorders, but I'm sure there will be a lot of stuff you can earn with play time.

This is a fighter, play time will probably be on the higher side to earn stuff. But you can get a season pass for all of it as well. 6 characters first year, the big story update is free though.

Heh, I'm super conflicted over which versions to buy for the same reasons. I currently have the Collectors edition on preorder, but will likely end up upgrading to digital on both PS4 and PC down the line.

I'm 100% double dipping for the digital version at some point, most like during holiday sales. It makes more sense to have a game like readily available at all times, but I had to get that collector's edition.

Ryu's costume is Gamestop exclusive (I think there's another shop that has it, though).

Ryu is available at GAME (with a cool steelbook). Nobody seems to be offering Cammy or Bison. Beginning to look like we won't be getting them.
 
Something I hope for but won't get..

Classic stages remade for SFV somewhere down the line. Maybe add them in with the new characters?

Would be really cool but it's just a coke dream tbh
 
Will they have a demo up? I wanna try it before buying. My greatest fear is my roommate and I will play it for a day and then go back to playing Soul Caliber III (which we play almost daily).

Chun-Li is untradeble because it will automatically download with the game.
