Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

Rashid juggle potential got nerfed, not surprising but sucks anyway. Keep getting matched with the same dude over and over so taking a break. Soooooooooooo happy I
got that brook converter, playing with a stick over that ps4 pad has been a godsend!

I tried out sim for awhile and really like him. Playing against some characters though felt like a nightmare but guess that's to be expected if I never used him heh.

Thanks, guys! If I can react with the uppercut, though, do I get the juggle? If so, that should be optimal.

EDIT: Wut, you hit him out of it and he's standing? You can do a full combo?
SHEEEEEEEEIT

I believe it's even possible to grab him in the last frames. At least with Ryu I could.

Ended up being awake until 4am because the beta is working. Obviously I wasn't in tip top shape, but there are already a lot of strong people playing. One day I will block you, Karin twirl crossup move. One day.

I don't think I like what they've done to Birdie though regarding slowing down his jabs and lights, and I'll be saddened by the loss of beta 1 Birdie.

The Beta supports no DInput devices at all. I really can't see the game launching without DInput support though, have Capcom said anything about this yet?

Meanwhile you can use x360ce to get the stick to work though if you really want to play.

Is there a tutorial for how to work with x360ce? I think I read earlier in the thread that someone couldn't get it to work for this version of the beta.

EDIT: Actually looking at the button inputs that the program automatically looked up after detecting the controller profile, everything seems to be the way it should be. Maybe it just isn't compatible in this beta.

I'm crying I'm so bad

No more soul-searching. Karin will be my main until the DLC characters come out.....unless Capcom massively nerfs her between now & launch.

im getting matches from people in japan wtf.... the lag is so bad lol

side note they nerfed karin ugh she was going to be my main now a couple of hits and shes almost dead

Yeah i'm switching to Bison I guess

Nash is good but it's kinda boring after a while
Bison is pretty much the definition of boring right now. Extremely slow walk speed, one good special, and long charge times. Enjoy your microwalk during footsies.

I've never used a charge character is a SF so at least i get that novelty factor I guess

Still, this connection ffs :(

Is it possible to practice without being forced into an online match? I understand that's not the point of a beta, but I haven't played Street Fighter in a long time and feel kind of intimidated being thrown into fights with more experienced players. I'd like to get a better feel for the mechanics before making an ass of myself.

Got to play a few hours of Beta, as Karin, and I actually won a match. One. singular. Would probably have won two, but the game kept crashing on me, so if that was any of you I fought, McNum13 apologizes for the "ragequits". I found out that for some utterly bizarre reason, SFV does not like my Wacom drawing tablet. Disable that driver and the game stops crashing. Annoying, but it's a workaround.

Anyway, I play Karin, she's fun, but wow do I not get her. I found out how to make Kens stop throwing fireballs, though. But it feels like I can hit them a lot, and then they get a few hits in and I'm losing. Is Karin's health just THAT bad?

I might try someone else or stick with Karin. Is there a Karin 101 I should know of, or is that useless since it'd be for Beta 3? What's her gameplan, anyway?

I got bopped hard by a good-ass Chun-Li. I'm not even mad.

And it looks like you no longer earn Fight Money when you lose (you previously earned 10 FM for each loss).

Yeah, press Start while in training mode and you can turn off the match searching for both ranked and unranked. Then you can just use Training mode to your heart's content without being pulled out into an online match.
