Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

Is it me or are the loading times atrocious this time around?

They are still very long, but slightly better than before in my experience. Still need to be improved drastically.

You guys complaining about net code must have terrible internet. Or playing on WiFi.

My pc is far above the recommended settings and my connection is fine. I ping 8ms to google's and other gaming servers and 30ms to Capcoms SFV servers. I can load up CS:GO and get 15ms on servers right now (and have the lowest latency of any player in the game). My network is not congested since no one is even awake on my street, its 3-4am for Ryu's sake.

The netcode or matchmaking is still not fixed, 85% choppy matches with teleports, roll-back or delay. Setting it to 5 bars does nothing. I've still been connected to players in Mexico, UK and Asia. Teleport city.

Did they start the beta early or are all of you guys playing the Japanese beta?

Beta started according to Japanese advertised dates which we thought maybe meant for asia/japan only. Instead it looks like they went live for everyone earlier than advertised.

Anyone gotten stuck on the globe part of the loading screen before? Happened twice now and there is now way to get out.

Does anyone have problems getting x360ce to work? It worked fine during the last beta, but now, nothing.

I found the problem: It seems that my x360ce wont work if my Steam Controller is connected. As soon as I removed the dongle, I was able to use my controller in the SFV beta as before.

i've had around 5-6 fights, all smooth so far

Why do I get the feeling that the game isn't listening to my battle settings. Just got matched with a PS4 person from Brazil even though my settings are 5/PC only.

Make sure you've applied those settings in the mode you're currently searching from. Like if you set the search filter on the Ranked Match screen in the main menu, then go into training mode, you have to set the filter again from within the training menu.

Otherwise, I dunno.

I did. I'm now trying it out in the ranked matched mode, rather than waiting in training.

Is anyone else on PC getting awful screen tearing when they jump?

I dunno but for some reason I get odd slowdown when trying to capture video. That never happened with the previous betas, plus my PC is a beast. Not sure if I changed settings or something. Don't remember.

This netcode is either nearly perfect or completely unplayable with nothing in between. It either feels like I'm playing someone locally or my opponent is teleporting around the screen like Dragonball Z.

It got both better and worse since the last beta.

Yeah, pretty much my experience, too. I guess rollback only works well up to a certain point.

This is what happens when a game has rollback but doesn't let you adjust the delay on a per-match basis.

Ideally, you'd be able to set a higher delay of your own choosing for laggier matches. The extra delay would hide more of the rollbacks. When you have a really low delay setting, low-latency matches work great. But if you use the same delay setting on a high-latency match, the game has to rollback more frequently because it has to constantly "fix" what just happened on screen.

First beta that I've gotten in, is it me or are there like virtually no Ken players online? Such a stark contrast from the early days of SSF4, im seeing a really diverse set of characters online.

After a rough initial patch I'm having nearly all rock solid matches.

The beta isn't registering my Hori V3 on PC. Even though it's a PS3 stick, it works with other games I own like Guilty Gear.

This is going to make it harder to decide which version to go with honestly...

The Beta supports no DInput devices at all. I really can't see the game launching without DInput support though, have Capcom said anything about this yet?

Meanwhile you can use x360ce to get the stick to work though if you really want to play.

So what's the catch with Rashid? To me he feels like a really solid character with some ridiculously strong options, but I've never once seen anyone play as him or talk about him during any of the exhibition tournaments.

He reminds me of a mix between Adon and Akuma.

The last beta and DInput still isn't supported? Geez, Capcom.

Just a reminder in case someone doesn't know to put network setting 3-5 or higher so you avoid these type of matches.

I was losing quite a few until I realized that.

Maybe they will patch it for PS3/PS4 sticks. The PC version will be a lot better.

No Kens nor Ryus. They seem to be a lot harder to play. I used to main Dictator but now will pick a shoto.

What are Bison's optimal vtrigger combos?

Most damaging I found with 2 meters is 436 off crush counter.

my favorite one is scissors->EX ball ->drop the combo because I keep accidentally doing the down-up motion for Inferno instead of a quarter circle

hoping I can break that muscle memory for good this weekend. Barely got any Bison time last beta because he went in at the last minute.
