They've said that if you play through the single player content at launch you'll have enough for the first DLC character by the time it releases. And how much will you be able to get? The same as online? Because if it's limited to "oh you can only get 1,000 for doing the tutorials and going into training mode once" that's not the same.
They need to encourage people to play. The last beta had 10Fight Money on loss IIRC, while the winner got like 100FM. That was more than fair because it didn't waste anyones time for going into a ranked/casual match. Here, if you lose, you've lost time and "effort" toward unlocking things with the only benefit being some knowledge that you may/may not be able to take into the next match.

"If you play through the majority of single-player content at launch, you'll earn enough money to get the first new DLC character free of charge," says Dahlgren. After a month, Capcom will also start its daily challenges, which the company believes will provide a consistent source of fight-money revenue for players to earn. We can't judge until the game is actually out, but it sounds like there will be plenty of ways to access new content without having to spend real-life cash.
So Fang tonight?

Do replays get saved automatically? I'm in the CFN, and went to "replays" but it says no data listed. Do I have to somehow find myself in the replay search?
That's a really good point, thanks
EDIT - Just played a Cammy called RedPandaSneak and starting to wonder if it was you xD
I don't know about you but being given fucking nothing for your time is pretty demotivating for most people![]()
Ok, cool, so Capcom's message for those who buy the game, spend their time playing online, but lose is to F off and go play single player?
So something like the loser of the match getting 10 FM, and the winner getting 100 FM is going to offend your sense of honor? How is that so problematic? You're getting ten times as much for winning. That's a pretty big motivation for trying to get better and win.
I swear, attitudes like this this are exactly why even people who try to get into the genre get fed up and give up.
You misunderstand: That's all well and good to say "you'll have enough for the first DLC character" BUT what I'm getting at is: Is that hard-capped? If I play strictly offline, will the only amount of cash I get be the first DLC amount? I won't be able to grind offline and at my own pace for more and get the second DLC for instance.
Maybe daily challenges will fix that if that's the case, but if single-player is hard-capped to that 1DLC character limit: Count me out.
That would be exploited so, so hard.It would be nice if you were also rewarded fight money for playing locally, as long as your machine was online at the time.
I feel like that could be accounted for now that the CFN tracks attacks you've attempted/hit/missed, blocks, and all thatThat would be exploited so, so hard.
0 FM for losses is good. Prevents people from AFK'ng all night with fight request on.
Playing a reserved Cammy has taught me a lot. And come to think of it, that happened last time with Nash. Trying a new character and taking it very slowly seems to be an effective learning strategy for mebecause lord knows I was playing dumb as hell with Ken earlier
I feel like that could be accounted for now that the CFN tracks attacks you've attempted/hit/missed, blocks, and all that
People would eventually figure it out.
Can you link anything off Cammy's f.HK double knee?
Yeah, you gotta go on the ground game with him. Once you're on him he has nothing besides V-Trigger so abuse that window. You can also EX Elbow fireballs on reaction to get yourself a knockdown.I'm having a rough team dealing with good Nash players as Laura. It seems like his anti air crouching normal is so good, that he can do it super late and still beat out my jump ins. Is there something that I'm missing here? Am I forced to just try to walk him down to the corner, and that's really my only option?
Yeah I had to tone down my gameplay with R. Mika now, it's hard coming off of the 2nd beta where she was ridiculous. She's still good but you have to be more patient now.
Nice.cr.mp xx spiral arrow
Surely there's a way to make AFK/idle coding detections.

Mika's a fun, little challenge.
Not blatantly overpowered...but I see hints of what they want me to do...
She's rough to use against projectile characters, though. I remember people whining about how fireball characters would be free in this game...lol.
gg roc! chun's new throw range keeps fucking me up rip
Nice.
Now, can you combo/link anything into f.HK? Any other combo/link tips?

If you find one, tell me lolThe good Nash players are not mindlessly throwing sonic booms when I'm in EX elbow range, and his ground normals are very good and outrange me.
What I'm trying to say here is that I want to avoid playing solid by trying to whiff punish and find some button that will fuck his shit up. Assuming that it's an option at least.
Nice.

Ahh, interesting. Thanks! You can link it from a jump in but f.HK isn't an ideal button. Bafael explains it in this vid
Couldn't help but laugh at this Karin's username lol.
Yeah, there should be a way to award the loser some points based on performance. Idlers would get nothing and people who fought would get something at least.I feel like that could be accounted for now that the CFN tracks attacks you've attempted/hit/missed, blocks, and all that
If they remove FM in loses, I'm going to cheese it in the league system. I'll lose all my placement matches (which I might not even have to try), get placed in the worst division and have a higher win ratio until I get into the division I belong (2nd worst). I'm sure I won't be the only one doing this, playing the unlock game.
It doesn't sound like there will be enough systems in place to grind out enough FM for the DLC characters via offline play. It sounds like there will be an initial burst of FM the first month, thanks to all the offline content, but they'll only be earnable once, where as online interactions are repeatable.
I believe earlier interviews explained this away by say that it was all designed so as to encourage online play. It would be nice if you were also rewarded fight money for playing locally, as long as your machine was online at the time.
