Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

couldn't you buy the locked character with in game currency in guilty gear xrd that you got from single player?

i honestly think you should get FM from a loss its really not fair for people learning the game to have to pay to unlock DLC characters while the pro's can get enough in a afternoon of playing, myself i got a 20% off deal on season pass so im set heh

it would really suck if you lost FM though that would be brutal

The netcode here is pretty damn good, seems better than SFIV. But when it lags, it lags bad. I was just fighting a Chun and I hit her with a low short, and as her hit animation happened she appeared above me and hit me with a j.hk. wtf lol.

I gotta learn how to read high-low combos too. I'll block the first 2 hits, then cant get out the rest.

I think that falls into learning the characters as well, you will start to see characters BnB and be ready for the hi-low combos

But that will come by just playing the crap out the game

So Birdie is the most noob friendly character in the game. I've had quite a few wins with him.

I don't think he's mechanically difficult but he's not a braindead character at all. It can be really tough to deal with people who know how to get in your face.

he is super fun once you get in someone's head though.

Like I've been preaching for the past year getting those characters won't be easy as people think.

Only played about five or six matches but it's a lot of fun.
Playing Ken, beat a few Ryus, had a close match with Vega and got absolutely bodied by an R. Mika and a Karin.

Game feels great to play. Gonna try out Rashid tomorrow because I think he looks like a cool dude.

Whewwwwwww goddamn, I just won a match with a Killer Instinct read

Well actually, I popped V-Trigger by accident and did a Spiral Arrow out of panic, but the Cannon Spike into CA was all me baby

Yeah thats probably another thing, because usually they'll consist of the same attacks.

On that note, with Rashid's CA, as long as the whirlwind makes contact = hit confirm?

1. will our stats carry over to retail?
2. can i message people after ive played them on steam?
3. can i turn off auto-matching while in training in the beta? my settings arent being saved

No to all three of them.

The matching settings in Training is blocked atm , it is being forced to be turned on.

I'm starting to do something that I guess is considered rather scrubby and now I'm wondering why I never used this much in SF4. I will randomly dash up cr. MK > HK tatsu. If it hits then I get a 2 hit combo and good positioning. If it doesn't then I'll fly away to safely unless my opponent is ready to punish it(most of the time it's a small punish like cr. jab though). Or in the rare instance someone actually blocks low and then blocks high which leaves me at -10 or something and very punishable(hasn't happened yet). Whatever, it works for me right now I'll just use it every here and there.

Anyone in here using a Brook ps3-ps4 converter for use of a PS3 stick with SFV?

Anyone had experience with these converters?

I bought one on ebay but its either not working or Im just not tech savvy enough to update the firmware.

I bought it so I could use my ps3 stick (a Hori Arcade Pro 3) when SFV comes out in a couple of weeks.

Any help would be appreciated.

what id really like to see is for lack of a better term daily quests, win 10 offline matches with ryu the next day its karin ect and keeps changing so it will force people to try new characters and there will be a set amount of FM you can earn offline each day

also you could earn more FM for higher difficulty

I kinda want a hori fighting commander now, because using shoulder buttons still feels odd for me. They work fine, but it would probably be better to have all 6 buttons right on the face.

<Seinfeld voice>So whats the deal with Zangief?</Seinfeld voice>
He seems like the most honest character in the game, no gimmicks no traps, just fishing for a Counter and grapple his way to victory.

I miss the Green hand lol

there will be tons of match fixing if you can only earn FM from winning online, just throw a bunch of matches to your friend let him buy the new character then he does the same for you

Okay, and? At least you'll be playing, which is the whole idea behind 0 FM for losses.

Don't you see the problem of people playing in a division they shouldn't be playing. It's a bit disruptive but at least they will leave the division.
You say the whole idea behind 0 FM is for losses, I think it's multilayered.
If I gained FM with loses, do you think I would play more?

Remember that time people were whining that Dhalsim was awful because Arturo and FChamp said so?

Because I do.

I was about to post that lol
Maybe Beta 4 Sim got hella buffed? (This is the first beta i got some time to play)

Offtopic: I FRIGGIN LOVE THE DAMAGE IN THIS GAME

The most valuable piece of feedback I can give:

For fuck's sake let us create Ranked Lobbies, like in SF IV. The matchmaking just doesn't work. It's trash.

Let me search for every game filtering by same region, and let me choose the room based on ping.

I use one for my qanba, I just downloaded the drivers from their website and followed the directions. No issues for me.

I'm also now seeing why Justin Wong thinks Chun-Li is the strongest character in the game. Damn I keep getting tricked by her elegant and fluid movement.
