Street Fighter V Beta IV Thread: Jan 30-31

Dear internet, this is how you deal with Birdy's dumb jump grab thing.

I have to admit, the last 3 betas kinda has me down on the game. I would get maybe 10 wins a day with the rest being pretty bad blowouts. I'm sure jumping on at 4AM would be ill advised as well. Maybe I'll do better after a decent breakfast in the morning.

still deciding pc or ps4... think there'll be a lot of cheaters on pc?

You'll play PC players regardless of what platform you choose, unless you turn off cross-play on the PS4. And as a community, for the health of the game, we should report those type of players.

What are good Chun Li tips/strategies/combos?

rush that shit down. Use her fwd HK up close since it's safe on block and if you catch them mashing a light you can blow them up on counter hit leading to like fwd HK, cr LP, st MP, cr MK, HK legs as a great bnb. Standing LK is a great anti-air and once you activate her v-trigger keep the pressure going. If you do fwd HK in v-trigger you can combo to cr LP regardless of getting a counter hit and if you catch them back dashing you can sweep after the fwd HK and it'll catch them on a juggle. She's very very very different from SF4 and has to be played as such.

Bison players.

So I've looked over some of my matches and I've noticed a lot of my pressure with Bison seems to get a lot punishment. From Inferno to Scissor Kick pressure. Am I approaching Bison pressure in a wrong way? Or am I looking for more of a hit confirm?

Don't see how. You just throw booms & antiair. Once in awhile you get V-Trigger and go for a meaty mix up. But like you said it's different for everyone.
Beta 2 Ken was the only fun character I played.

Maybe because I'm a very hardcore SFIV Guile player, but he feels like Guile with a lot more options, but not necessarily weaker or stronger.

Yes booms and anti-airs are nice and that's Guile's game too (even though he's definitely weaker in the AA and normals department), but he also has plenty of other things to fuck with. His cross up is actually good and leads to great options. His combo game is super fun, even after they've nerfed his aerial n.hk to not juggle. His pokes are excellent even with being a combo character, but few and far in between (forward hk, forward hp, c.mk). His Bazooka Knee can be nasty as fuck if you figure out the range which I've just realized thanks to GAF. And he has an air throw. An AIR THROW.

He's not the craziest character don't get me wrong, but I do feel like I'm finding new awesome things about him ever few matches. And yes, his V-trigger is sick.

Matchmaking seems to be completely broken for me. I've been messing around in practice mode for an hour and a half now with hardware settings and connection status both set to any, and so far I've gotten a grand total of two matches, both against American players. Seeing as how I'm in Finland myself, both matches were obviously garbage.

yeah i don't think they changed anything regarding the dithering on console

I wonder why some here already knew about it (to the point of not even expecting a fix anymore) while many of us are only discovering it now (in my case because I missed all previous beta rounds). This might be a dumb thing to think and I mean no offense to anyone, but maybe the people who did know about it could have tried being more vocal about it, towards Capcom and Sony especially? I mean, I've never seen any forum, Q&A, or journalist bring it up. You'd also think that Sony would be on top of this as well, V being a console exclusive to them that now looks quite a bit worse to the PC version (if you happen to be like me and notice the dithering all over the place).

so im playing on pc here, is anyone else having the game close randomly?

many times now im in the middle of a match (or just in the menus) and poof! straight to desktop.

its getting seriously frustrating.

Okay, question to people who are more serious fighting game players. Do you ever have this problem when in training mode, you keep dropping your stuff and getting frustrated. But when the real battle rolls out, suddenly everything you do comes out correctly?

Yeah. Means you're stressed out and thinking about it too hard.

No, always the opposite for me lol.

Where can I find the best Karin gameplay from this beta? Any streamers/youtube channel recommendations?

No, the other way around. Your problem is the best to have...

Hey guys. I havn't had chance to play the game at all. Used to play SFIV a little. One thing ive noticed is that it seems a lot of the crazy animated ultras are gone, is this the case? i don't know, they dont seem the same quality. The game look s to play really well but it just looks more muyted or something, no awesome faces being pulled when specialis connect. Is that the case?

Am I missing a fundimental thing about the game.

thx for feedback. close to pre ordering on PC

Why does everyone suck when picking up a new fighting game? The only thing from IV I've managed to carry over is my anti air, footsies, and zoning. Everything else just feels weird and foreign despite being familiar with the moveset. I find that fascinating for some reason.

Missed this! Yeah, love her lk anti air a lot. That new overhead move is soooo unsafe! Btw, what are good ways to combo into CA. That's one of the few things I didn't get out of tonight's sesh.

Well, I don't know about you, but the head of the streamers in the down center of the screen for a fighting game is not a good idea.

But perhaps it's just me...

The matchmaking is pissing me off holy shit

Third time that i get matched to an Israel player and it's obviously a lag fest

It's the opposite for me most of the time. I wish I had your handicap.
