Anyone else get this error?

You may have to try a different card. Sometimes, banks dont like foreign purchases. My BOA card worked fine for this, but would always throw a fit when i tried to purchase anything from the Nintendo EU EShop. Ended up using my USAA.

I tried my other card, an American Express, and it did not work. Oh well :/

I just realized that my Windows account has a different Hotmail address than my Xbox gamertag. I'm still downloading, but is there a way to transfer the game to my Xbox gamertag rather than playing it on my Windows Hotmail account?

To answer my own question, you can play games on a different Xbox account than your Windows Store account.

Can't seem to get this to work for my girlfriend, but it seems to work on mine.

Is there any way I can gift it to her? I can't seem to find the option (and I don't think it's possible) :(

Microsoft should really consider a different store for non-mobile games.

I know this is sarcasm, but it isn't true. While it takes a bit of effort, it's definitely possible. This is the way I do it:
  1. Create a desktop shortcut by dragging the app listing from the start menu/all apps list to the desktop.
  2. Create a text file, add the path to the previously made shortcut, and save it as .bat
  3. Convert the bat file to an EXE file.
  4. Add a non-steam game in the steam application. Point it towards the converted bat file.
  5. Boom. You now have a working steam shortcut to a Windows Store app/game. Works the same as any other non-steam game.

While this does require you to keep both the EXE and shortcut files on your system to work, it does the job, and doesn't take up any meaningful space.

Just in case anyone wanted to know...

worked for me. quite painless. No overlay, though.

How do I know if i'ts even downloading? It's been on 0.8 of 26GB for over 5 minutes now and then I go to pause and unpause and it's 19MB of 19MB

Thanks for this. I was going to wait for a price drop, but this works even better.

As far as download progress et al, after I bought it, I just changed my region back to the US, the store reset and the download bar seems to be working just fine even if a little on the slow side (or at least it feels that way because it's such a big download anyways).

Looking forwards to seeing exactly how this new take on GFWL works compared to the old one.

Bought it. God bless Barclaycard and their complete lack of interest when it comes to billing addresses.

Now to reinstall Windows 10, as when I was tinkering with the Windowsapps folder I did something and now can't get achievements. All that Solitaire progress, for nothing.

Well, for one, this one prevents all third party injection and won't even allow the developer to implement a real fullscreen mode :P
Why is that?

Also, can someone explain the difference between a "universal" app and a native Win32 (although I think modern games are 64-bit) app?

Are universal apps like Android apps, i.e. bytecode and not compiled in native machine code?

Just bought it myself, first time buying a Windows App purchase. I won't have any time to play it but I doubt I'll be getting a better deal than $9.33 for the game. God Bless you MS.

These download speeds though, been stuck at .1 mb for like the last 5 minutes.

Busy painting a room in the house so I'll kill the download time but yeah you can't beat this.

The purchase went smoothly, the download is slow as fuck though. I'm stuck at 0,1 GB.

So, if this isn't a bug, does this mean that India and Ukrania may have more cheap games in the Windows Store? I wouldn't mind buying more of them. >:)

It's a bug apparently. You would think something as simple as a download status bar wouln't have a "U.I issue" heh...

For the people with slow download speeds, did you switch your region back?

Right after my purchase went through and the download started I switched my region back to the US. This caused the store to close and reopen as the US store. The download continued as normal and stayed between 60-70Mbps.

Also, if you go away from your library and back it will show the real progress, it doesn't refresh on its own.

Don't trust it. It jumped from .1 mb to 1.5 GB to 2.0 GB. It's sporadic and weird.

Downloaded and looking forward to playing. If i uninstall this will I have to go back to the Indian store or is it bought on my 'account' and thus I can download from the UK store?

Eh, watch someone manage to crack stuff like that in the future so you open the game with a regular good old exe file and not some odd Universal App Container.

Edit: That makes me wonder, would taking all the game data into a separate folder and just putting a cracked .exe in there work? I mean, fuck, I want my framerate counter. But that would have to be a cracked exe of the Steam version and I'm not messing with that, I'm way too afraid for my library to bother. But theoretically?

Edit #2: Oh it uses Denuvo so no use theorizing. :lol

Hopefully once some meaningful exclusive games hit the store (Gears, Recore, Killer Instinct, Halo Wars) the interest will be there. The lack of modding capability is the only negative for me.

Man I can't download any new purchases through the Store at all, it's really frustrating. It let me start downloading Candy Crush Saga just fine, but when I try to download Tomb Raider or Netflix it starts giving me error 0x80072efd and says it can't connect. Have spent about an hour googling for solutions but none of them seem to work. Infuriating!

A universal "app" is restricted in the Windows APIs it is allowed to access. (This is actually the answer to both of these questions)

Or you can refuse to buy games in a format which is actively trying to kill the open PC platform.
